Anyone else watching in 2022?😂🙏 They've still got beautiful voices! I love the piece that stars at 5:23!! 💪
yes. i am here
So am I 😃
The beginning of Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel gave me goosebumps, no joke.
God those overtones and UNDERTONES (much rarer) in the last piece were simply divine. I can't believe your conductor left :( I want to work with him once in my life.
wow they are amazing!!
Whoa! i started clapping when i saw this video! Amazing! Just completely breathtaking!
Superb!!
Singing opens your heart.
And all these guys reprsent that indeed.
Awesome, how you show you great it is, to do your job!
i love men's choirs.
do you feel this deep emotion! the might in their voices!
I love the dynamics they use..their voices are just beautiful:)
truly deserving of the "Choir of the World" Title
Gives me the chills
HOLY .... 8:43 on is a AMAZING crescendo WOW
Jünglingswonne(the 2nd song they sang) was the best. amazing
im a teen who usually listens to rnb stuff but i heard a snippet in a song of a mens choir and was instantly mesmorised...i LOVE thier voices, it's so enchanting and beautiful :3
nice!!!gives me chills...
Excellent singing JJ! All you guys are really talented!
Whoa!! My favorite choral piece, sung by my favorite choral arrangement (men's choir)! LIKE!!!
Wow amazing!
Harmonies in 5:51-^:03 are absolutely amazing! I can't stop jumping up and down from how perfect they sound! Like oh my god, my ears have never heard of such magicness :3
Ughhh!!! Just amazing!!!!
the soloist in the last song is my goal in life...like not even kidding! You guys are my favorite chorus. haha I watched you guys doing Lux and I was like "Oh. My. Bajeesus."
I really wish there was a man's choir at my school >_
OH man what i wouldn't so to see these guys perform live!! you guys are so amazing I'm in love with your voices! :) keep up the AMAZING work.
hey my choir sings this!!!
OMG!! I love it!!
who gave negative voting here ? UNBELIEVABLE.
This is perfect singing.
Beautiful *
just...wow
I love when non-black choirs sing spirituals naturally and not with extraneous additions that can be offensive. bravo! You all should come to the Intercollegiate Men Chorus Festival.
they need better choices. sing in English
Anything, is only "offensive" if you take offence, and are therefore offended.
We are all thought of, loved and remembered, it's how you frame your perception of these qualities, that gives value to your awareness of others sensitivities.
@MrRawshak
Totally agree
Personally I love the harmony made by male choirs more
but I do have my favorite female choir
Lux Aurumque.
Oh Latin, how you are just truly moving.
And, I remember singing this for a fall concert in high school. It's just an absolutely beautiful song. A full choir sounds good, but a men's choir sounds much better, in my opinion.
wow!
...i love how they changed key at around 6:52...
Stunning - we are learning this at the moment - I sent you a link to our video separately!
THIS is what choir should sound like. I may be a little jaded but this is what MS COLLEGE CHOIR sounded like when I was there....and HINDS JR COLLEGE was pretty darn close to this...somewhere along the way our school systems have lost the art of MAKING music....
Best choir of the world has been Mormon Tabernacle Choir for at least 60 yrs now
Georgia Tech Chamber Choir :P
This Choir of the World bullshit at Llangollen is new. Westminster is a barbershop choir. I don't understand how you can judge among the female choir, male choir, mixed chorus, barbershop chorus winners and determine a choir of the world. It doesn't make sense. It's just stupid. They named it the Pavarotti Trophy. Please, Pavarotti and his choir from Modena, Italy won the male choir competition once at Llangollen. The Pavarotti Trophy should go to the top male choir. I doubt that Pavarotti would be pleased that a barbershop choir holds a trophy bearing his name. This "choir of the world" business is total bullshit.
danieleaparis: your prejudice is showing. You're saying that because they are a barbershop chorus, they can't sing?? I guess you don't think barbershop is a legitimate form of choral music?? This wonderful chorus has proved over and over that they are wonderful vocal musicians. And I'd beg to differ with you that Pavarotti with be displeased that a barbershop chorus would win a competition bearing his name. Mr. Pavarotti appreciated excellent music in all of its iterations. Just look at the list of singers, operatic and popular, he sang with. Don't be such a music elitist!!
This was a while ago now so I am hoping you have chilled from your VERY unpleasant and unnecessary tone. You know, when you write on the web in a public forum, it's there forever. "If you don't have anything nice to say" my Nan used to say, "keep quiet James". Of course you could have been constructive and offered a critique as to why you thought what you 'thunk', instead of just making offensive statements.
As a singer/conductor/judge and teacher of singing and performance, to me it's easy to pick a winner from multi genre choirs. All aesthetic differences aside. I'll qualify this by my opinion on this Choir - I felt having listened to many of their competitors. They were the best and most consistent at demonstrating exemplary choral skills (for an amateur group). They were the most in tune, they had a huge ringing sound, their dynamic range was humungous, controlled and never lost vocal energy, their rhythm was on point, they have fabulous unisons within each part, stunning vocal expression, crisp and meaningful stage presence that enhanced the audience experience. Meaningful and sincere storytellers (albeit with some over the top visual expression), exquisite and uniform vowels, they had a fully rich and resonant, vocally balanced sound with an equally matching vocal colour palette. Their enunciation and non english language articulation was impressive and true. Their committment to high quality choral skills is unquestionable and clearly the well qualified judges from different musical backgrounds agreed.
I'm sure you will agree all this (and more) are the pillars of stunning Choral work. I'd be very interested in hearing how you got to your view and what your opinion was based on. Although somehow I suspect we wouldn't agree on much.
The angel's choir... crazy dynamics.. darn, so beautiful!
The most Beautiful Sound Is The Bass es
Wow, the first song, Eric Whitacre's 'Lux Aurumque', as far as it sounded anyway, it sounded the same... that was awesome!
BRAVO! Wanna find the score of
@katykat121 Amen to that. In a choir of 450 people (all-state) There are only 15 soprano 1s and 20 soprano 2s. Bass 2s and altos fill in the extra because, well, they are the quieter voice parts especially in the teenage years. And countertenors when they really do have songglass falsettos are definitely superior. Beyond the second F above middle C, mine gets a little harsh, but I'm smoothening it out. I'm a bari tenor, and I get tossed everywhere in my choirs. Almost have that Bass E 2 woot!
Silver medal?? Who the heck won first?? If Westminster Chorus had let loose with the screaming tags and choreography like they do in Barbershop international competitions they would have killed first place!
I love the fact that even though are a master barbershop chorus, that they have the skills and desire to branch out to compete in different competitions and do different genre songs that are not strictly barbershop.
They will always be gold medalists in my book! Awesome job, guys!
oh em geeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!thay are efffing awesome!!!!WELL done guys!!makes me proud b b a man,lol.no hard feelings ladies =)
“Crawl.. V... Square”
Yes, perfect as can be!! I wish the camera person had spanned the entire choir. Some of the people on the sides are not seen well or often enough. Kind of annoys me. They deserve to be seen as well!! I gave it a LIKE, though!! ...Jim's wife
@dungeonmunky i completely agree with you! = D
@katykat121 -Totally agreed,I love all my Soprano friends but I feel like soo many times in a SSA,SATB and what not it's "Soprano's vs. Every other Voice Part"
I've heard this sung in an SATB version[Lux Aurumque] but the Soprano was most dominant[they sounded gorgeous don't get me wrong] but a blend would be soo nice.
-They Sound Great!!!!
Would someone tell me the name of the first song? It is actually the best opening I have never heard for a choir!
Thank you very much! :)
+Jeffery Corwin of course this would be an Eric Whitacre song. I remember doing cloudburst... He's a fun composer... I love the dissonance.
Who's "Didn't my Lord..." arrangement from??? You guys sound very nice... congrats!!
@clauclau33 The song could have stopped right there for me and I would have been just as pleased... but I am glad they continued :)
I feel sure that the owner of the 'cough' didn't have too much control over when and where it happened.
I'm confused as to what you are asking. Can you please clarify please? Have you ever sung in a choir, and entered competitions? It's quite fun and you meet many people sharing the same love of singing. Also the Judges are not comparing one choir to another at all. If the scoring system was based upon that then of course it would make such competitions foolish, but musical competitions are much more than just who can out sing the others.
@katykat121 Agree!
@rrmjvand this chorus is from California, USA
While this is absolutely beautiful and you guys are so amazingly talented that I really want to move to SoCal and join the choir, there is one thing that could have improved this performance: Someone who teaches you the right German pronunciation... ;)
I'd be happy to help you with that if you fly me in from Germany... :D
@katykat121 I couldn't agree more.
0_0 wow.
@TouchTheWind its LUX AURUMQUE
come and sing with us, most of my part 2 and 3 singers are Altos. SAAB voice set up. look for sydney vocal project on web/youtube.
These arrangements are designed for three or four voices?

listened to it, great blend, but kinda repetitive though, don't you think? Mind you that could be said about most styles of music after about 30 minutes!
@shohchkheh Um, until you're performing 6-8 part pieces, don't complain :P
wait... B as in Bari or B as in Bass? Is it possible for a girl to sing Bass? I know there is a female bass, but I mean a girl singing Bass like how a guy would. I know of tenors who can hit soprano notes, but is it physically possible for a girl to be able to sing Bass?
@katykat121 Couldn't agree with you more.
what s the name of the third song?
***** are you sure this is moses hogan's version?
I'm almost certain it's not Hogan's arrangement. Don't know who it is, though
hftang0714 It’s Aaron Dale’s arrangement
It´s from Aaron Dale
Anyone notice the uncanny doppelganger of the late great Robin Williams?
I want to slap whomever it was that was coughing at the end of "Lux Aurumque" way to ruin the ending stupid person in the audience! Gorgeous stuff from an awesome fellow BHS chorus!
@hoolihoopgrl131
They ALL turn me into a pool of jelly!
wow! reminds me to the hobbit! very good!
Are they supposed to making everything sound nasal? I really don't like their vowels. I don't know what it is. They just bug me. Like a fly in my ear.
I guess you lack something.
Well they are from Westminster
Too much reggae perhaps
It sounds like skyrim music! Very be
Why they dont use english words!!!!!
English isn't a very "Pretty" language to sing compared to Latin.
Look up O' Magnum Mysterium. It's one of the prettiest songs you'll ever hear, completely in Latin.
Why shoud they? Most people on this planet DON'T speak it!
bryan3550 Because it's the language most spoken?
Maybe not... ;-) dailynewsdig.com/top-ten-spoken-languages-world-2014/

This isn't a choir...its a barbeshop chorus. The difference being instead of Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass, its ...Tenor, Lead, Baritone, and Bass, and the music contains overtones and slides that are very unique to barbershop singing. I prefer barbershop far more than a standard church choir way of singing. I am in a Sweet Adeline's barbershop chorus for women, search Kansas City Chorus Regional, and the first video is us, we are wearing red outfits..
The only truly beautiful hymn I hear from this group is O Love That Will Not Let Me Go. Other than that, just not worth watching.
We don't agree, we've tried to do lots of different hymns and other exciting music over the years. That's okay though, thanks for watching!
