Stuff crumbling, one of the biggest hacks in esports with no communication if it is safe to play Apex and yet they drop a new event with a $700 heirloom. Truly an EA moment.
There’s already been an official response. It’s been confirmed it wasn’t RCE. Their communication might be incredibly poor considering people still don’t really know but the game is in fact safe to play.

@@illuminate427 except they did, even said they had a patch rolled out while they continue to investigate. It was server side and the two effected pros have established their pcs were compromised likely due to the hacker having information through their streams and with data they had up displayed for the game. The easy anti cheat Service went ahead and responded first and even PirateSoftware (aka Thor) who has history with cybersecurity reviewed their response and EA’s response on his stream. Everything points to this not being RCE but server side. The RCE stuff has only ever been rampant speculation.

@@Syphon- that's true... but they could postpone it for a bit since a lot of players don't play the game for being scared about that and are not to much happy about the current game status... Players would understand if they postpone it and release it after the fix it ( ok... ok ... at least that hack from the ALGS not even going to talk about the cheaters, no audio for footsteps, etc ) and proprably spend some money. I do hope players don't spend to much money on this event... to show them that we are not happy with the game stat and this money grab

Honestly... Rather than proceeding with the event, I think the resolution of the game's multiple issues (security issues, cheater issues, etc.) should be more prioritized... so it's even more unfortunate for this event...
Yeah, but it's something they've already spent time on and is the work of a different team. It would be nice if they had a faster and better solution, but cancelling this already made event would be an odd choice.

So, I think EA and Respawn should prioritize solving in-game issues such as security issues in the game, overflowing cheaters, and low quality servers, rather than selling event skins..

Apex should PAUSE the events until they solve the security problem.

Destroyer2009 may have only targeted the pros/major content creators, that doesn't mean he's the only hacker and that others won't target everyone else. He's shown an issue in their security and that it can be exploited. That's a massive problem.

The heirloom would prob be more hyped if it was free to get from the start by doing challenges or something for the base but having to pay to upgrade it. And releasing more upgrades down the line. Could even add legend specific designs to cater more towards whatever legend your mainly running it on, especially if that legend doesnt already have an heirloom
well, they still can do that, and they probably will. Anything that bring them more money, but it doesn't stop them from making heirloom itself cost money

Someone else here made a very good point: you can lose everything you've paid for with this game if someone malicious hacks your account and EA, who apparently can't even secure their top championship tournament game but certainly is glad to slash personnel at Respawn, should not be trusted to handle those situations.

That’s how projectiles work, they don’t come from your weapon they come from your camera. The third person animation just finds the path from the muzzle of the gun to where your bullets are actually coming from and converge, it’s very noticeable on legends like mirage and rampart since their third person animations have them bobbing up and down a ton, which moves the muzzle hard point around.
I think we all know the real ‘shadow’ in the Apex ‘society’ right now…

if only EA/respawn would use the revenue from this event to replace the anticheat/security team, like maybe hire the riot vanguard team since they seem to know how to actually deal with cheaters.
Ironically, with how many players are likely to avoid playing the game, let alone buy items, until the security issues are resolved (rightfully so), they probably can't afford to hire the riot vanguard team. It's a catch-22.

They don’t let you use crafting materials to purchase a skin like they would in regular collection events. I’m still not tryna waste money tho. I always buy the skins I want through crafting metals. Hopefully they change that
