I was so close to using this for my daughter this coming year (1st), but when I decided to go with Sonlight for History/Bible/Literature, I was intrigued by their Science program (mainly the wonderful books it came with.) So we'll see how that goes! We are starting today actually! 🙌🏻👍🏻😊♥️
I can't wait to hear how you're liking My Story 1, we've completed the first 9 lessons (Quest 1) since February, but are excited to continue on with it in 1st grade. 😁
So far so good with My Story 1! Sophie really likes it.
We used Adventures in Creation last year and loved it. I am anxiously awaiting the release of the second book in the series, Adventures in the Physical World. Comes out next month!

Hmmm....this is interesting. We are loving Adventures in Creation and we are doing the Human Body in CC this year so this looks fun. I love TGTB units but they're too much for my kids right now.

We loved Adventures in Creation! We used it last year. TG&TB is too much for Sophie right now too.
I feel the same way, the TGTB looks amazing but not quite for the younger ones maybe so I want something a little more for their age

I’m sure you could go it either way. This one is probably just a little easier to understand.

can you do a flip through on the skin and immunity section? Curious about their take on vaccines --and if they have a balanced approach or if they just glorify them with no attention to informed consent, risks, or ethics?
This book does not mention vaccines. However, remember it is the Beginner version of this series designed for K-2. I do not have the regular series so I am not sure if God's Design for Life mentions them or not. The Beginner version I have doesn't mention anything about immunity except how white blood cells work and that skin keeps germs out.
Does this curriculum recommend the read alouds or did you pick those on your own?? I want to start getting more advanced read alouds to do with Madison during the day.
No, it doesn’t. I chose the books on my own from Amazon.
Question since I think you would understand.... I have a 10 year old but severely dyslexic and struggles at reading, I'm thinking of the Heaven and Earth book but don't know what to pick. I'm leaning towards for beginners but I'm lost.
The beginner series is made for K-2 and has very little writing (mostly tracing), some coloring, and the lessons are very short. We are using Heaven and Earth for Beginners this year (Sophie just turned 10). It’s going well for her but academically she’s on a 1st-2nd grade level. I hope that helps.

There’s no teacher’s book, it’s all in one.
What is the difference between the God's Design books and the Adventures books? Are you supposed to use them together within the year? Or pick one or the other?
They are two different series. But the God’s Design Beginner series is very similar to the Adventures series. Both are K-2nd range and we have enjoyed both.
Do you know if/how God's Design for Science from Master Books is different than God's Design for Science on the Answers in Genesis site?
I think it is very similar and it’s by the same authors. Master Books describes theirs as an exclusively for Master Books edition does I’m thinking it is likely formatted differently. However I’ve not used the Answers in Genesis version so I don’t know for sure.
Interesting. I purchased a set from AIG (also sold on Christian Book) for my 2 middle kids, but I wasn't aware that Master Books had something similar.
I know this is an older video, but….. How long did it take on average to do each lesson?
Those beginner books take about 10 minutes per lesson.
