After being one of the league leaders in home runs, stolen bases, RBI, and batting average, Kemp was voted as a starter for the National League squad in the 2011 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Arizona. He also accepted an invitation to participate in the Home Run Derby on July 11 at the All-Star Game.[12] He only hit two home runs in the first round of the Home Run Derby, putting him in last place, and making him ineligible to participate in any further rounds. Afterward Kemp said, "That was tight. It was a great experience. I was really excited just to be a part of it. I wish I could have hit more home runs, but it was definitely harder than it looks on TV. I may have been a little amped up."
Kemp should've won the MVP the 2011 season, especially because Braun was caught juicing. He had a monster year and had one of the best individual season performances I've seen in a long time.

yup 2 straight years with injuries.. .sad that it had to happen once he got the big money. I still believe in kemp!! but if he gets hurt again that's 3 straight years and i know the dodgers will dump him.

I'm not sure if it was this year or the year after but he hit the furthest home run I've ever seen haha It was a game at Coors Field so that adds a little distance but he cleared all the bleacher in left center & hit the food section were people were gettin there hot dogs haha He had so much pop with a almost effortless swing!

So far 14 games into 2012 season; Kemp - .481, 8 HRs, 20 RBIs. Braun- .245, 1 HR, 5 RBIs. Apparently Braun is off the steroid this time.

2010 was the only year Matt didn't do well with his B.A. (.249 which is MUCH closer to .250 than .240 mind you) but he still hits 28 home runs. He batted .290 or better every year since 2007 (except for 2010) including one with .342. Majority of great players had at least one so-so season so I highly doubt Matt's on the steroid.
