During the pandemic, Ville walked into a phone-repair place (where I still work at) and he was so nice. He let everybody pass him in the line and was like "just go first, I have time!". He was thinking about getting a new phone, and I actually showed him mine and later he came back for another problem and said that he bought the one that I had :D:D But yeah, seemed like a caring and awesome guy! Not a hint of arrogance or anything.

@@borislav730 hmm its cold at winter. Santa Claus won't come out off a chimney😂. We are nice people. We like beer, sauna and ice hockey. Juhannus is a mid summer party were we drink alcohol and usally celebrate that in a cottage near lake. We got a many good hevy metal bands. Thats all i can think right now.

Just saw Ville in myrtel beach and he looked and sounded wonderful. So comfortable on stage and looked like he enjoyed himself. I've been following Villes music for almost 20 years and it's such a joy and true treasure to witness his dive back into it all. The album is such a reflection of Villes heart it is one of my favorite works. I really hope this is the start of something beautiful musically for him.

I have missed him. It is so strange to have been listening to his music for 25 years. It is amazing he is back. It feels like an old friend has arrived. I loved that he mentioned how does it feel for a painter. As a pro painter, yes, we embrace solitude. What helps most of the painters is listening to music. It is that what we all need when we paint. The main reason for arguments 20 years ago at the art academy was the music we would play;))). Just painting in the studio is easy. What gets very hard, are mural commissions somewhere else, where you stand alone with a wall.
I'm a musician, who studied arts years ago and I can totally relate to what you said about an old friend arriving and I also listened to music most of the times I'd paint or work on some design projects. I think, now I don't listen to music as much just for enjoyment, because you can't do it, when you're making music/practicing 😅 but most of things I do now in my life are because of his influence (arts school, music school and even my ability to speak English and write songs in it). So happy to see him doing well and releasing music. Can't believe I'm going to his show in a couple of weeks and also releasing one of my most goth-inspired songs a day before 🖤

Ville has been my favorite artist for more than half my life at this point and I don't think that will ever change. Hopefully there will be plenty more beautiful music to come.

Hahaha, oh man, I thought he said "a TOURIST BUREAU of his idols" and I was like "well that's an expression I haven't heard before" but it also kinda made sense 😆
I remember so distinctly the time I first listened to his music and what it still means to me. At that time they had just released Screamworks and like everybody I know, the only popular song was Join Me. Screamworks completely blew me away. So much heart put into these songs. It still gives me the shivers hearing that first song, I can't even fully explain it but it tells a story that resonates so much with what I feel and what I want by hearing music. I hope he is thriving again in this art that he is creating. Can't wait to hear what he has in store for us!

I am definitely one of those younger fans, i never got to see HIM live since i was underaged (for 2 months....) when they came to my city on their farewell tour. So excited about the album 🤩
I am not a younger fan but I still never got to see them because I was in care and wasn't allowed to, and then later when I could go, I was always too broke. I sat in a bar next door the venue where they played their last show in my city with a friend who had a ticket but I didn't. I was so jealous but I guess we did our own little farewell thing for them. Now that Ville is back I have had a ticket on my shelf for the past year, ready to go. I'm not missing out this time.

Been listening to him for 20 years and I finally got the chance to see him live a couple of nights ago, it was absolutely incredible. Ville has one of the greatest voices and ranges ever. (When I say him I mean Ville as VV not the band HIM lol)
Sounds are vibrations of the air that a person can hear thanks to the Earth's atmosphere. The sounds of the Ville's voice and music are vibrations that are heard not only by the ears, but we hear these vibrations with our soul and heart, first of all. I am grateful to the cosmos for having created our planet and created Ville Valo on it. And that I live in the era of this man! May his creativity be eternal...

Amazing interview. This man never cease to amaze me. If not, inspires me more than ever before.
I do understand and relate to his recording sessions during the pandemic. I lost my brother and mother due to covid and was isolated, lonely and stuck in the apartment where my brother died. Couldnt see my gf, now fianceé, nor my daughter in any way since they too, had covid. Since I was all alone, I used my loneliness and sadness in making something that i've practiced, but never got to pressed the recording button. music. From the writing, to the instrumentations, to recording and mixing and mastering. Its been a journey. This man has always been an inspiration to me and although, my music is far from his style of writing, i will always credit him as one my idols that pushed me to write music.
Got to see HIM a few times, including their farewell tour and very much looking forward to his upcoming tour, which is exciting because this will be my fianceé's first time seeing Ville live!

Never been a fan of HIM ( I only knew and liked their 2 hit songs) but.....WOW! He is such a clever, intelligent and talkative person! U can hear he knows a lot about philosophy,art or history. ...Talking with such a person is a very nice experience!

SO excited for the vinyl release of the new solo album that hopefully will be arriving in a week or so, and to see him live in May here in Charlotte NC! I had tickets to their farewell tour stop here in 2017 and ended up having to miss it, and frankly never thought another chance to see Ville perform would ever happen.

Great interview! Genuine interviewer and a marvelous Ville Valo. I was so happy to hear the words toward Bam. I know this might be controversial, but I hope that they both meet each other again for the good and it maybe could be also very helpful for Bam and his situation. Anyway, great to have Ville back in the music scene! It's a bittersweet feeling for me as HIM was part of my teenage years since 1997 when i was 14yrs old..
Its funny how people like Ville have no idea how talented and influential they actually are. He is amazing.!!

I definitely want to go when he swings by Cleveland in April. His new stuff is good and I’ll always support his music. Maybe one day HIM will reunite but until then it’s nice to have something coming from Ville because his songwriting and vocals are usually top notch. Not to mention he’s a good man. You can tell how sincere he is when giving interviews. It’s nice seeing your favorite artists be a humble down to earth person instead of above everyone else or aloof.

Good or bad, I wish the subject of Bam would be left in the past. This is about Ville and his thriving solo career. There’s no bad blood, no need to keep poking at it. Regardless of that, this is an amazing interview and I’m very exciting to se Ville grow in a new way.
Bam needs to stop bringing up Ville as well though. He referred to him as his "favourite" recently after literally blaming him for his eating disorder and addiction like a year ago...
@@VampiraVonGhoulscout no seriously!! I truly think Bam needs to completely separate himself from Ville/HIM. Ville doesn’t owe Bam anything, Ville didn’t force Bam into these drinking habits. Even if Bam wanted to be at the same level as Ville in the early 2000s, Ville got sober. Bam didn’t.

@@Tattoo.gurl123 nope, just honest... Looked nervous and... Just not the same playful ville he normally is, but like I said, he's back to his usual self now which is great. Life isn't all about pleasantries and compliments dear, if you think it, you're in for a shock.
is it bad being awkward? As an introvert I relate to him on some level. I really think too much weight is put on being "easy" and socially confident. Let artists be themselves.

@@wessley4606 Actually it is not clear to me. So a charismatic person is always the one who is an extrovert making jokes all the time? Well, I disagree and I personally see his charisma elsewhere. His "awkward" interviews are not less charismatic to me, quite the contrary. I like to see people as they are instead of the persona they put on while being out in the public eye. Doesn't mean you're wrong and I am right. Just another opinion.

I try to explain to my wife or friends ever since I heard infernal Majesty 95 Demo. It's very very very rare to have a artist/band whose music got better and better or would change artistical inspiration in their sound and would still have songs in the album that was better than previous. Being a teenager when he did his first Show with Bam n the DVDs I begged for of both of them was such a great experience. Those years from like 95-2005 were such a golden arc for me seems so much simpler even taken out the aspect of being a kid lol it was more connected and had at least some meaning Compared my Existentialist and Pessimistic philosophical values now
