If I was 27 years old and have what you have going on I’d be so excited! I’m no money expert but paying debt off is so important before prioritizing investing! Your future self is freakin going to be like “dang girl you hooked us up”! You rock
It's good to pay down debt while investing. Your money makes you more money over an extended period of time. The longer it's their, the better it is.

You're doing really well. All these 'supposed to have'' are to be ignore because your journey is yours and yours alone. My husband and I are 73 and 71, we're doing well but how we got there had nothing to do with all these 'supposed to have' and so, please don't beat yourself up. It's not worthed it. You are doing REAL GOOD.

You are doing great in your journey! Trust me, I didn't have my financial act together when I was 27 (and that was a long time ago). But the company match over time is what really adds up over the years! (Yay time value of money!) I really enjoy watching your videos!

You're doing great. Congrats! You're above average for your 401k based on your 20s. You have a few years to so you'll be way ahead at 29. I do encourage you to take the car out of your net worth calculations. It's a depreciating asset so it'll decrease every month almost. I started tracking this way as well and wish I didn't include the car at all. I'd go with the lesser number of $28,910.

this is a great start to your future, i wish i would have found you back when my life was a mess, with 10 credit cards i now have 2 left and knowing that having debt is not joyful, i can now see were to go in my path to financial freedom, saving has always been hard to do with debt hanging over me, i like the way you celebrate the small milestones in your life, i celebrate them with you as my way to keep going, you are helping me sooooo much, be encouraged, be joyful, the only way to get to were your going is to walk the path but don't forget to enjoy the scenery!!!!!❤❤❤❤

As a 26 (almost 27) you are doing amazing. I honestly have no idea what’s in my 401k stuff😅 and owe a family member over $2,000 as my only debt

Something I've heard that made sense to me about the "401k by age" numbers is, you didn't make what you make right now for your whole 30s. Think of what you made when you were 20, or 21, 22. It wasn't what you make now. It takes time to catch up. If you got a raise at 29 it wouldn't be fair to yourself to suddenly have that new goalpost you didn't even know about. If you've got more, great, but it's not a one size fits all number.
