This Old West style clip point bowie with jigged bone handle belongs to me and I made this cowboy/frontier style leather sheath to go with it.
This sheath uses a Sam Browne stud and a 'frog' as was popular on this type of sheath. This allows the sheath to be hung from the belt or the frog can be removed so it can be slipped inside the belt or trousers on its own.
The sheath has a limited edition California state quater featuring John Muir inlaid into it as well as some vintage mockodile. I picked up the quarter on holiday in California in 2005 and I love Yosemite so it's a nice reminder of the park for me.

Impeccable work Ian,as always. Like the idea of using a coin as an inlay. Going to copy you on next job but going to set a military medal in it for an old Army mate. I really enjoying the leatherwork after all the grinding and sanding with making a new knife, nice not to have sore dirty hands!
Awesome!

amazing. It looks so simple, but i know that it is too hard to do with that quality. Keep doing videos, really enjoyed watching.
That Bowie knife deserves a Texas quarter! Beautiful work.
Why a Texas one? Bowie knives are from Louisiana
But it sure looked the best
with the state that's furthest west!
P.S. i know its not technically the furthest west but it rhymes okay, plus im from California so im biased haha

Beautiful, magnificent.......
Great workmanship if you don't mind I like to use most of that I have a friend that has a knife made from an railroad spike a blacksmith friend made for him and he asked me to make a sheath for it. That design looks just right for it.
Nice work!
Leather bags
First off, brilliant craftsmanship my friend. You are amazing :) Simply, one of the best sheathes I've seen. I make knives, but I don't make sheathes. Just an FYI I'm a pure hobbyist...not a professional knife maker. I got a full time career lol! But I'm thinking about trying my hand at leathermaking just so I can make sheathes.
very nice work.
Amazing!!!
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls
I loved it! Thank you so much. I've seen 2 different styles of video from you and I like both.
On some of your projects you walk through the entire process and that's awesome.
I also like these barebones demonstration videos because I can just watch the process and see what you do. I really appreciate that also.
Thanks again
+Greg Smith Agreed!
very nice!!!!
WOWSA! That is awesome work. I use to work for a master saddler ( one of only 2 in Canada ) and did some extremely fine leather work on $5000 Jumping and Dressage saddles. I also repaired many saddles of all kinds. I want to start doing leather work at home as a hobby/ side business. I am very meticulous and hope to produce high quality work like you do some day. Liked and subscribed. You sir are a master. ;)
omg so beautiful
