    Title contenders in England:
-Man City knocked out of the UCL by Real Madrid
-Arsenal knocked out of the UCL by a Bayern Munich team who's 16 points off the top of the Bundesliga
-Liverpool knocked out of the Europa League by Atalanta, who's 32 points off the top of the Seria A
Best league in the world my ASS!

Champions league is hard to win for a reason and for me the best team always wins it, no matter how you play, its about the mentality on and off the pitch. The best teams are always in this competition, which is why you always have to take your chances or else you will get punished. City didnt do enough, they can have all the possession they want, but if they dont score its useless. I hate when people say "City is still the best team in Europe". Like why do we even play Champions League then? Like just give the trophy to them already. The reason why we play Champions League is to find the best team, and this year City were not among the best.

The interesting thing is that Real Madrid don't usually play that way. Their the only team in football with such a high level of adaptation. They are capable of doing exactly what the game needs in order to beat their opponents. Whereas some other teams only know one way to win and one way to play football. In this case that was City's limitation. Of course many other teams try to do what Real Madrid did but in the end they end up getting bashed. It just shows how impressive their commitment to the cause is.

Talksport is clickbait. It's their business model to have outragerously bad takes on various sports. Most Britons also seem to be completely oblivious to the corruption happening in their own league and PGMOL, and as a result relatively overrate their own top sides. Or maybe they know, but have been instructed to stay silent on the topic.

basically city spent arab billions and racked up 115 charges to play beautiful football that doesn't win trophies? corners and ball possession are now the new metric to judge football prowess. is simon suggesting that if it was a full league format city would win it, basically like they do the EPL? before the second game, simon was thumping his chest claiming city would bash madrid.after city were bundled out, it became just a knockout competition and the EPL's stock rose immediately to become the benchmark for football excellence in europe.amazing how just 120 minutes of football can change a man's perspective on the beautiful game radically.

I've been saying for years that match victories shouldn't count in 2-legged ties.
Like, yeah, Chelsea "beat us" at the Bernabeu in 2022. Juve "beat us" at the Bernabeu in 2018. But it's not really a victory, because the result on the night doesn't matter, only the result on aggregate.
Saying a team won a game in a 2-legged tie is like saying a team won the second half in a league game. There's no such thing. If you win the secind half 1-0 but you were down 3-0 at half time, that doesn't mean anything

The problem with people like Jordan (whose knowlege of foreign football is virtually zero) is that many listeners to Talksport who may themselves know little about the game in other countries will believe what he says, because he sounds articulate, sounds like he knows what he's talking about. 2 years ago, all he knew about Frankfurt was: they took 30,000 to Barcelona, lost to West Ham 40 or so years ago and were 9th in the Bundesliga. Therefore, according to Jordan and other English 'experts' West Ham will beat Frankfurt. Anyone with any football sense would have made Frankfurt favourites.

Even when he says he's giving madrid credit, stating FORTITUDE, he immediately says penalties are a lottery, ergo madrid-lucky.
But Fortitude and Penalties Go together.
He claims FORTITUDE, and then says City found a way to lose the tie, ergo City's to lose.
But even Guardiola says theres nothing else they could have done because breaking down the low block was hard.
Theres no accreditation in this pundit's speech, every credit he gives to Madrid he takes it back immediately by claiming 'luck' or 'City failed themselves'.
His true Emotion is that Madrid are like Failed coach Southgate. A comparison that requires you to look for a needle in a haystack but that needle isnt even there cause when does Southgate find a way to when Finals, when does Southgate find ways to win the toughest games? Southgate bottles, he doesnt win
