Finally...a challenge that reflects my fishing experience! 🤣
Andy look a lot more excited about this one than Jamie 😂
This brings back memories. Luckily the Weaver doesn't seem to have any sticklebacks left. Trent and Mersey canal Swan Pit used to be my favourite place on the Canal. waggler to far bank, casters.
When this started I was thinking maybe I should have a go at a Canal again but when they weighed up made remember why I love commercial fisheries so much
Well done lads another fantastic video
Funny as always...think they were a bit unlucky with the spot! There's some brilliant canals..never caught a stickleback yet
Another brilliant video, thanks to you guys my daughter is now getting into fishing so more daddy daughter time for me. I can't thank you enough. Keep up the great work.
Brilliant guys brings back memories of fishing local canal and catching hundreds of goujons 🤣 and thinking we had a great day's fishing.
Brilliant video lads I love canal fishing any our cut (Easington & Wyrley canal) is stuffed full of proper fish 🤣🤣🤣👍
I remember I used to have a fishing log book and added in everything I caught. Proud to say I had a 1oz roach, 5oz perch etc. Great times as a kid catching anything. I'm still not on a PB train of thought at 46 lol. Just love catching and hopefully win local club matches or frame. Blanking is the only thing to ruin the day 🙂
Hilarious video bringing back all the (horrors) memories of winter club matches on the Mon & Brecon canal - thanks guys and well done Andy
Cap on order 🎉🎉🎉 canal fishing brings back so many memories, grew up on them local to solihull 🎣🎣🎣🎣 good times
Good video,,, hay try Leeds, Liverpool canal , some stretches in winter it used to be size 26 n half a pinky or a single squat ,,the old boys told me , that bad !
Enjoyed that. Great laugh. Just need to get you on a better canal!
Would love to see you both on somewhere like the Trent on the stick float. Just to keep the theme going. And how about doing a live match on a natural venue?
Thanks guys for another great video. 👍🐳👏
nice to see some proper fishing, rather than just catching. thoroughly enjoyed watching.
That's no more proper fishing than any of the videos at a commercial. That many fish, albeit small, in the space of 90 minutes is probably more than you'd catch at a commercial. I'd love to know what you saw in this video that demonstrated any more watercraft or fish knowledge than the previous 10 challenges.
@@mikefrench3574 try-hard fisherman 🤡
you two are hilarious. absolutely love this channel. you two are exactly what I thought me and my best friend would be as we got older. the whopper found golf!!! lol
Fantastic keep the brilliant work up guys.
Good to see you doing something different.
You really need a challenge on the River Wye/Belmont this winter. It would make a cracking video
Can't believe that Lewis didn't advise you to fish bread punch..it DOES avoid the sticklebacks! And you got the canal on the wrong day.... there were half a dozen 20lb nets of roach in a match there last year. They even caught some of the big roach on corn! But it still made a great watch as always...the banter between you two (and Rich) is priceless 🤣
Anybody suffering with depression watch these two. Great double act
I agree 100% 🥳👍
Memories of the Wirral Winter League in the 80's. One match at the Red Lion, Barnton & another at the Salt Works in Marston. Proper gruellers.
What about the stroppy elsmere port
I've still got im1 hooks and desque floats
@@Ilysmfriends - happy memories. Won my section by the bridge in front of the sewage works.
Chop worm and casters is what I used to love on the trent and Mersey canal. Around my area
Yup, carp puddles have spoilt us now
Is this what most of the canals are like!? My local is absolutely rammed with quality sized fish.
It is great to see the guys fishing the canal, they should come up to Yorkshire and fish the Aire and Calder navigation they will catch good quality roach bream perch as well as carp and dace would be more than happy to show them we’re to fish
Love how Andy was still enjoying himself with little goujons. Seemed like bad luck on the spot. Something exciting about canals you could either pull out a tiddler or some big bream and f1s love it
I remember matches at Backford on the Shroppy, so many anglers so few fish…
Nice video with the usual amount of laughs again lads and welcome back to mine and a few others regular fishing trips and you should have tried chopped worm with the caster over the far shelf and a worm head down the track over a few pinkie and caster and would love to see you on a bream challenge on a reservoir
HaHa made me proper laugh out loud when you started shaking the weigh net within an inch of its life..... makes me want to start fishing open matches again for the craic
Top video boys, good achievement making it entertaining watching you catch sticklebacks.
Funnier than Bob n Paul, you two should be on the Beeb 🥳👍
Nice video Gents,
A question.
Using a whip will avoid that much hassle of handling an carrying gear.
Best Regards,
Potatoes 🥔🥴😂 you’re funny af mate!
Tight lines 🎣
Hi, I Fish that stretch on the whip will my daughter, Building some happy memories there with some good roach.
could you explain why you strike sideways is it to allow for the tow? I just lift upwards lash length is a foot or just less
I did a canal match once I but 10 balls of ground bait in at the start right on the other side of the canal fished in middle for 30half catch small stuff then got the feeder rod out cast over to the spot I feed and bam the bream was there end up with a net full of bream and won
Best vid off you guys for a while.
Go on the Guujohn
Once fished a winter match on Stainforth/Keadby canal 5hr match one perch 6oz come second £120, best thing about it was taking a flask! 😂
Something on the end of my rig that will grow up to be a fish one day
Classic that jamie
Great vid guys
Very entertaining
I saw dave berrows win a match with 2lb of stickleback t+m ghost Bridge pete price
Lol. Jamie caught pretty much what I would have caught. My mate who fishes the canal all the time would have stuck two three pound bream and five pound of roach on the scales. And probably put back a four pound pike. Canal fishing is sorcery.
Proper enjoyed that
Best video by far 🤭
Awesome
Well done Andy 👏
Trent n misery. Where's the punch at 11 metres ? Always good for roach 😁
I dont care what your catching, always makes me laugh and looks like you three had a laugh making this. Should do a rod race like Mat Hayes did with Mick. Try and catch all the species.
Please send me a link to the catch up on Andys silver fish match it came on my phone then disappeared

Spent many a hour on the leeds liv canal scratching for a pound to get team points on the wigan winter league happy days
Ace!
Brilliant sport should do a smallest win there
Those people have a lovely house opposite, then you lot turn up😂🤣what a view!!!
Classic lads funny as f**k👏👏👏
Canal matches are proper matches. Stuff the commercial holes in the ground
Aaah... yep... Essex Club League matches at Hunton Bridge on the GUC 8lb of Gujons off the near shelf for a win ... happy days... none of this 300lb of lumps on a carp puddle... they dun't know their born...🤣😎😳
Can You call it an actual natural water Andy if the canal is man made ? nice to see big boys enjoying baby fish fishing.
Didn’t really feel inspired by this one, somehow I got the impression that this was not top on your list of things to do! 🤫
Where are the Perch, they love stickle backs
That stickleback is possibly the smallest thing ever seen in rod and line...
More seriously did Jamie own gear fine enough for the canal or did Andy have to loan him some 😁😁😁😁😁
It is proper fishing.
Just a crap canal.get on the stainy or junky👍
Trent next come on?
Could of fished a better canal I've never seen a sticklebac come out of the canal and haven't seen a gudgeon come out for at least 15 years try coventry canal next time
I'd rather catch 10lb on the cut than 100lb on a commercial any day of the week
Were you from rotherham
I only fish canals and rivers ,commercials are to expensive
Y don't they reference fish by the actual names 🙄
