Jan vs Glover is truly that fight where I don't want either guy to lose. They both have so similar stories. They are such savages and yet such gentlemen. I want Glover to win because this is likely his last shot but also want Jan to keep that belt given how long he struggled to win it.
It really is one of those situations where seeing either guy lose sucks because of who they are and their stories. I think Jan gets this one because Glover's fights all pan out the same. He gets clipped, goes all wobbly, opponent blows cardio load trying to finish this old man, he starts wrestling/scambling, gasses the opponent out, and then subs/gnp a gassed opponent. The Jan/Izzy fight showed that Jan can be incredibly disciplined (though they are completely different fighters), so I don't see him deciding to go ham when he inevitably gets the initial rock, I think he's going to be patient, defend the takedowns/scrambles, and then off the clinch break catch Glover with a punch like he did to Rockhold/kinda like he did to Reyes.
When rumble knocked him out that summer, I thought he was done for sure. I thought he was never coming back from that, esp being the older fighter he is. Man oh man was I wrong! I'm so happy for you glover #Debuted2012
He almost lost all of these fights but found a way to win. The Thiago Santos fight was the craziest, Santos kept hitting him with some insane bombs and Texeira was knocked down twice and still managed to survive and get a sub.
This video is perfect to put some respect on my guy. Now that he won hope this video blows up and the casuals get to see the new champ and how he got there.
