Totally understand the guy on the H2… first time I rode an R1, I accelerated to 150 in the time it took my bike to reach 65… My mind couldn’t handle it and I almost rear ended a car in front of me. I caught up to it SO FAST!!! I gave my friend back his R1 after that… lol

Things I learned from motomadness 1. Wheelies lead to crashes 2. If you speed you will need an extra thousand dollars per month for insurance and tickets 3. Many crashes are caused by rider not counter steering but just trying to lean at fast speed corners 4. If you are on a dirt bike going down a dirt road you will be met by a man with a shovel or axe telling you to not go there any more lol 5. If you have racing gear on your chances of crashing will be increased
You do realize that the only way to turn a motorcycle once it’s moving over a few mph is counter steering? That’s physics. Once the gyro starts to take over you can’t lean the bike to get it to turn without counter steering. Counter steering isn’t some magical alternative method to steering a motorcycle, it’s the only method.
Also learned that if you're not going to smash their mirror, just shut the fk up
@@abikeanditsboy3449 you can still “turn” by leaning after a certain speed without counter steering, you won’t make it very far lol but it still works a little bit. You definitely need the counter steer to make sharper turns at a higher speed though, as you pointed out.
@@TheMortamer - If you ever watched Keith Code's Twist of the Wrist II he shows that exact method and how it induces a small counter steer to get the bike barely turning.
@@abikeanditsboy3449 Keith Code's "No BS" bike video does actually contain a little BS. In the video, the guy is just weighting the pegs. He is not leaning his body much at all. So the lever length is very small. It is in fact possible to steer with body weight only. Try this experiment: Roll down a mountain in a high gear (to reduce engine braking). Take you hands off the handlebars, and steer by leaning your upper body. I've done it many times. I do it sometimes for amusement when I'm stuck behind a car. So yes, you can steer with body weight, but also yes, to steer quickly and with precision, you do need counter-steering.

People. You MUST learn how to trail Brake! You are at a chance of going too fast at a turn. The only thing that can save you when it’s too late to slow down is lean hard asf (which depending on the roads could be dangerous) or GENTLY squeeze your front brake and trail brake.
I'm practicing , it's not that hard to do it but to do it fast and well it definitely is. Lol
True - I had to accelerate and swerve around someone whose tire blew on a roundabout the other day. If I hadn’t been able to very very quickly trial brake AND let off to turn again, I’d have been high sided on the curb. 100% right about road conditions not giving the option to lean more, especially winters in Europe.

I swear that riding dirt gave me the sense to ride street. For example, when I first started riding street, I hit that patch of trash in an intersection on a left turn. I've seen most just take the low side crash but riding dirt, I knew to accelerate and the bike stood back up and I continued my turn. Not without a good foot-slap to the ground but that was better than dumping it on the low side.
I've never clicked on a thumbnail so fast.
My brother got caught doing 110 in a 55 in our parents car about 6 years ago. It was something like a $700-$800 ticket.

Our car/road tax is partly spended to keep our roads in good condition. What happens with your road tax?
For roads It depends on the state and town. Some states have immaculate roads. Others have the worst ever.
