I'll stick with my 13 mini after all large Android phones. It works great, the battery suits my needs except heavy use and I have a MagSafe car charger for that. Love the size, and when I heard it might be the last, I had to have it.
I prefer the 13 Mini, because it's similar in size and weight to my retired iPhone 6S. The 14 series is out for me, because in the US, I swap my SIM cards. I dislike the idea of asking a company for permission to swap an eSIM. I wouldn't know how to import, say, a Canadian iPhone 14 here. I do like the fact that a Canadian, for instance, can buy a 14 with a SIM tray. Anyway...it was the 13 Mini for me! It's a huge upgrade over my iPhone 6S.
@@Ryzanu see the iPhone 14 Plus model within days after launch it's production in some factories are stopped due to poor demand and that too in that price range makes no sense to buy the plus model which is just few $100 dollars away from the Pro version.
I bought a new iPhone 13 Mini, 512 GB. Got an Otterbox for it and nice screen protector and aGoz holster. Great size for one bag, carry on travel for long haul flights. If I want to look at a larger screen, I pull out my iPad Mini. I simply love the iPhone 13 Mini over my past iPhones. As for crash detection…..I’ve never had it in the past 71 years. Don’t figure I’m going to miss it.

I upgraded to the 14 pro two weeks ago as I love taking pictures and the camera upgrade was too much to ignore. I’m loving the 14 pro and I like how the dynamic island is been used and the always on display is nice ( I didn’t know my Apple Watch series 6 also had this feature, so thank you for pointing that out. I’ve now turned it on!) I’ve fallen in love with the pro, but I do miss the smaller size. A pro mini would be my dream phone.
I wonder if the camera upgrade from the 12 mini to the 13 mini would be enough for you, i have the 14 pro, camera is great, screen gets insanely bright, good battery life but I can’t stand how heavy it is plus the protruding camera lens
That’s the video I was looking for. I’m due to upgrade today my 12 pro max and I’m torn between the 13 mini or the 14 pro. Never going back to max size again. Since I bought the Watch ultra with always on display bigger battery and screen I think I’ll get the mini. The goal is to be less dependent of my phone while still being reachable.
this was a tough one for me too. I had the 12 mini and I loved it. Then I got the 13 pro last year because of the cameras and pro motion display. The telephoto and macro lenses have both come in handy many times. I have the iPhone 14 pro and it's awesome! The improved cameras, dynamic island, always on display, and the new deep purple color are all awesome. My only gripes are that it's heavy and big. I wish the had a mini iPhone with the pro camera system. a part of me still wants the iPhone 13 mini but its too late to return my iPhone 14 pro.
Many have return eventually. End of the day you want a comfortable phone. The pro models are too heavy after you use casing. Just buy a camera if you want those features
I want to thank you for this amazing demo clip. I just bought the 14 Pro. Fortunately, I saw this in time to return it. After a week, I could not deal with the weight. It is a BRICK. 7.29 ounces before you add the typical case (1.5 to 2 ounces). If you have ANY issues with hand injuries or even slight tendinitis, you will hate carrying around more than a half a pound. I shoot a lot of photos and video and that's what made it so difficult to decide, since the camera is better in low light. Get off the stick Apple and produce a 14 mini pro.
Thats funny….i just ditched my 14 Pro Max and turned it into a paperweight. Have gone back to my 13 mini and couldn’t be happier. For me ease of use and portability is non negotiable. Love the 14 Pro don’t get me wrong with all the bells and whistles but have also gone tired of pocketing a brick everywhere i go. If you’re looking for a very pocketable phone, no case needed and one hand handleability look no further than 13 mini
I have a 12 mini and the battery life now is getting annoying. The main reasons that I will probably switch to 14 pro are the battery life and the macro camera for close ups on wildlife in the spring if there was a 14 mini with macro and a better battery I would go with that.
I had a 12 Pro Max on my decided for the 13 mini instead of the 14 just because it's so refreshing to have a fully great phone in such a small package. It reminds me of the series 4 and 5, which have been my favorite phones so far.
I love my iPhone 13 mini but was seriously thinking of trading it in for the 14 pro thinking the better camera would make me a better photographer. Ha! I have been waited for the smaller phone since years then finally replaced my iPhone XS by 13 mini. Its best phone i had ever, 5.4" is still big enough screen to write emails, posts on socials and watching YT videos or gaming. No more larger phone ever if possible. It lays in pocket perfectly no matter you're in work or on sport activities like running or biking, and completely no issues with battery working time - one day of very active up to two days when i am not using phone a lot.
I have the 13 Pro and I don’t think I’m going to upgrade. I like the dynamic island and the new camera features, but there isn’t anything else I feel would make the jump worth it. This will be my first time not upgrading every year in probably 8 years 🙃
I had the same issues deciding between the 2 phones. I bought the 13 Mini last summer, loved it for all the reasons you stated, then got the 14 Pro thinking I'd try it out and return it within the 2-week return period and ended up keeping it. The reasons are the quality of the photos, the refresh rate is smooth and it's bright in direct sunlight. I can get 1 1/2 days battery on most days whereas I would have to recharge the mini in the early evening, sometimes using the battery pack which I did not like. So the mini is a great phone but not for me,

Thank you for this video. I had the 12 mini. The battery was so awful, that I over-corrected with the 13 Pro Max came out. So, this year, I went with the smaller 14 Pro. Recently, I was beginning to doubt that decision and considered going down to the 13 mini. This video helped me to make the decision to stay on the 14 Pro.
After I learned that 13th I would be the last mini for a while (or ever? 😢), I decided to upgrade my 11 to 13 mini. I miss having phones that are not as big as a tablet 😂
Weirdly I feel like I’d prefer either a mini or a Pro Max. The 14 Pro is already too big to be a one hander, so I might as well get extra screen real estate and battery life as well!

I'm a hardcore android user but I am amped to get a 13 mini. Pretty stumped that the 14 won't release it and I guess for generations afterwards. There's really nothing like it for the compactness of value.
Switched from 12 mini to 14 pro. Man, I miss my old phone. This pro phones are too big and heavy and the "benefits" like camera and stuff are not worth it for me. Battery life is also disappointing. In the end not really a big improvement.

The always on display drains the battery way too fast on the 14 pro so I never leave it on. The dynamic island is a gimmick. I’m selling my 14 pro to go to a 13 mini.
I have a 13 mini for work and I love it. I had just upgraded my personal phone which was an 11 pro and I seriously debated on getting another 13 mini but ended up with the 14 pro and it’s great. I really wish they kept a the 11 pros 5.8 inch screen instead of the 6.1 that would have been awesome. 14pro is the most hefty phone at 6’1inch. apple come on why should it be so heavy. really hope they will give up stainless steel and opt for titanium. if 15pro weighs about 170g or under. i’d get one in a heartbeat

Just bought iPhone 13 mini 512GB recently. This is the perfect size and feel like a phone to me rather than a bulky entertainment machine. It has everything more than enough for daily use. The battery is okay but with MagSafe battery pack, there is no problem using the phone for the whole day. Will stick with this phone until there’s another small one comes out. Maybe the future SE. I don’t mind sacrifice those feature for the perfect size. This is a perfect minimalist phone. Love it ❤️

selling my 14 pro max and going back to 13 mini..😄, i dont use the phone for photo and video so much anyway, for that i have my drone and laptop.. the mini is so good for everyday use i think. well, and maybe, just maybe upgrade when 15 comes next year.
I was gifted a 14 pro used it for 3 months and switched back to my iphone 13 mini. -I didn't see any real differences in the picture quality from the 13 mini for the camera hump to be as big as it was. -the pro had slightly better battery life but is bigger because of it. *The mini just feels better and does everything I need it to do at the perfect size plus there's so few of these around people will sometimes do doubletakes
The Iphone 13 Mini is the ideal phone for me. Probably the best phone I’ve had in awhile. It’s comfortable, refreshing and fun. I would prefer to see smaller devices in the long run. Having to carry less weight is essential. Plus, having stuffed pockets while walking around may not be the best idea. Hope Apple will continue with the mini form factor, as an alternative for us who want to have a break from all these gargantuan phones. Sadly, This 13 mini will be the last of the breed. Shame on Apple for ending the Mini series. If Apple still want to continue with the mini, I think Apple should update the mini lineup every 2/3years.
One of the reasons I am seriously considering the move to 14 pro from 13 mini is actually the camera, specifically the macro mode. I often need to take photos of printed documents or even capture my PC screen and the mini is simply unable to do that without blurring everything. I know you mention Halide, but I want to be able to use the native app to do something this simple, not a paid app, especially since I would likely not use the other features of Halide. I have very small hands but I used XR for three years (my record for a smartphone, lol) so I think I will be able to handle the 14 Pro. I will need to get a good fall-proof case thought..better be safe than sorry. 😅

There is always a kind of compromise between small and big size. If you want to use your mobile as a computer you will need the bigger ones. Or you have a special requirement in pro features. Do you really need? And then consider Apples pricing now. There are no real innovation anymore. But they still rise prices. To me the mini is a nice device with a better pricing relation. for half of the pro price you can look nowadays to Google new Pixel 7 series.
Had 12 mini to 13 mini, then upgrade to 14PM. Sold my 13 mini and signed up for xfinity mobile 12 mini as a backup phone for 0/month with 1 gig 15/month plan.
Not worth the extra $$ for the 14 Pro. The features are not all that significant. Returning mine for the 13 Mini. I use my phone for business and most of the reviews focus on the cameras. The 13 Mini’s camera is good enough. I cannot just the $500 more for small features. If we had some of the feature like Samsung Dex or Google phone screening…then I would consider the cost. Camera bumps, dynamic island seem gimmicky. Honestly Apple is getting like BMW…paying for a name and getting less features than what you can get from a Honda. Just saying.
This time last year, I went from the iPhone 7 to the XS, while my kids went from the X to the 13 Pro. I'm really not a fan of the weight of their phone. I'll probably stay with XS until Apple stops giving it the latest iOS, at which point I'm seriously considering swapping to a 13 Mini. It'll probably be 2nd hand, but I really can't see Apple reintroducing a Mini - unless the next SE uses the discontinued size.
I went from a 12 Mini to a 14 Pro. I don't think the price tag was worth the upgrade. Among my circle of friends, everyone was impressed with the pics in my 12 Mini and I can find little to no difference between the 14 Pro. iOS 16.2 will bring a true "Android" Always on Display feature.

I wish that Apple make the new SE to be 5.8" screen size, same 11 pro with 3 camera system of 13 pro(even if one camera to be same 13pro main camera) , and A16 cpu. it will be the idol mobile ever. also the thickness to be 7mm maximum.
I wanted the telephoto lens so bad that I considered an iPhone 13 Pro. But at the end it was simply too heavy and too much money for only a small improvement... If they made the Pro series with aluminum and therefore not that heavy I might have kept the 13 Pro...

The nine is very comfortable while in bed, pro are very heavy and find it very difficult to use one handed.

Sometimes i think the mini is too small. if apple made a 5.5 inch phone that would be the sweet spot between it and the standard 6 inch phones.
If anything, the most recent iPhones are too large. The mini sizes are perfect

The always on display drains the battery way too fast on the 14 pro so I never leave it on. The dynamic island is a gimmick. I’m selling my 14 pro to go to a 13 mini.
I have a 13 mini for work and I love it. I had just upgraded my personal phone which was an 11 pro and I seriously debated on getting another 13 mini but ended up with the 14 pro and it’s great. I really wish they kept a the 11 pros 5.8 inch screen instead of the 6.1 that would have been awesome. Great review and comparison 👍🏻oh another reason I love the 13 mini is the apple wallet just fits and looks great on it.
14pro is the most hefty phone at 6’1inch. apple come on why should it be so heavy. really hope they will give up stainless steel and opt for titanium. if 15pro weighs about 170g or under. i’d get one in a heartbeat
Wish they still made the mini , cause I’d definitely buy the 14 mini if they had it !! The size to me is nice to fit in your pocket

Just bought iPhone 13 mini 512GB recently. This is the perfect size and feel like a phone to me rather than a bulky entertainment machine. It has everything more than enough for daily use. The battery is okay but with MagSafe battery pack, there is no problem using the phone for the whole day. Will stick with this phone until there’s another small one comes out. Maybe the future SE. I don’t mind sacrifice those feature for the perfect size. This is a perfect minimalist phone. Love it ❤️

Sometimes size *does* matter
selling my 14 pro max and going back to 13 mini..😄, i dont use the phone for photo and video so much anyway, for that i have my drone and laptop.. the mini is so good for everyday use i think. well, and maybe, just maybe upgrade when 15 comes next year.
I was gifted a 14 pro used it for 3 months and switched back to my iphone 13 mini.
-I didn't see any real differences in the picture quality from the 13 mini for the camera hump to be as big as it was.
-the pro had slightly better battery life but is bigger because of it.
*The mini just feels better and does everything I need it to do at the perfect size plus there's so few of these around people will sometimes do doubletakes

The Iphone 13 Mini is the ideal phone for me. Probably the best phone I’ve had in awhile. It’s comfortable, refreshing and fun. I would prefer to see smaller devices in the long run. Having to carry less weight is essential. Plus, having stuffed pockets while walking around may not be the best idea. Hope Apple will continue with the mini form factor, as an alternative for us who want to have a break from all these gargantuan phones. Sadly, This 13 mini will be the last of the breed. Shame on Apple for ending the Mini series. If Apple still want to continue with the mini, I think Apple should update the mini lineup every 2/3years.
The mini is a great series! I also really enjoyed the size of the 11 Pro from 2019.
One of the reasons I am seriously considering the move to 14 pro from 13 mini is actually the camera, specifically the macro mode. I often need to take photos of printed documents or even capture my PC screen and the mini is simply unable to do that without blurring everything. I know you mention Halide, but I want to be able to use the native app to do something this simple, not a paid app, especially since I would likely not use the other features of Halide.
I have very small hands but I used XR for three years (my record for a smartphone, lol) so I think I will be able to handle the 14 Pro. I will need to get a good fall-proof case thought..better be safe than sorry. 😅
I think the 14 Pro would be a great choice if you’re used to the XR. After having the 14 Pro since posting this video I’m used to the size :)

13 mini is superior
I read a lot of people would love an iPhone pro mini phone. Maybe a 5.5 inch or 5.6 inch would be ideal. Come on, Apple!!!

There is always a kind of compromise between small and big size. If you want to use your mobile as a computer you will need the bigger ones. Or you have a special requirement in pro features. Do you really need? And then consider Apples pricing now. There are no real innovation anymore. But they still rise prices.
To me the mini is a nice device with a better pricing relation. for half of the pro price you can look nowadays to Google new Pixel 7 series.
I love the mini as well. Find on my Jeans well. No need or tile on my hands but I guess I have no choice going forward.

Not worth the extra $$ for the 14 Pro. The features are not all that significant. Returning mine for the 13 Mini. I use my phone for business and most of the reviews focus on the cameras. The 13 Mini’s camera is good enough. I cannot just the $500 more for small features. If we had some of the feature like Samsung Dex or Google phone screening…then I would consider the cost. Camera bumps, dynamic island seem gimmicky. Honestly Apple is getting like BMW…paying for a name and getting less features than what you can get from a Honda. Just saying.
This time last year, I went from the iPhone 7 to the XS, while my kids went from the X to the 13 Pro. I'm really not a fan of the weight of their phone.
I'll probably stay with XS until Apple stops giving it the latest iOS, at which point I'm seriously considering swapping to a 13 Mini. It'll probably be 2nd hand, but I really can't see Apple reintroducing a Mini - unless the next SE uses the discontinued size.
I went from a 12 Mini to a 14 Pro. I don't think the price tag was worth the upgrade. Among my circle of friends, everyone was impressed with the pics in my 12 Mini and I can find little to no difference between the 14 Pro.

For sure. I’ve been enjoying watching iOS become more like Android (app drawer), and Android becoming more like iOS (gesture bar option in Android 13).

I wanted the telephoto lens so bad that I considered an iPhone 13 Pro. But at the end it was simply too heavy and too much money for only a small improvement... If they made the Pro series with aluminum and therefore not that heavy I might have kept the 13 Pro...
