- Former prime minister Lord Cameron does not feature in the interim shadow cabinet, the Conservative Party has confirmed.
Suffering a net loss of 251 MPs in last week’s General Election, the Tories have named their opposition frontbench who will lead them into the new Parliament.
The party confirmed in a statement that Lord Cameron, who was foreign secretary in the outgoing government, and party chairman Richard Holden had offered their resignations, and Rishi Sunak had accepted.

Cameron is a disgrace! Should never have been brought back in the first place. He showed he had no balls and wasn’t up for the fight after losing the Brexit vote. When the going gets tough, Cameron gets going, normally back to easy street. Hopefully his political career is finished.
Never say never! But to guarantee it, I fear we may need to acquire a small figurine with a surprising resemblance to the man and ask a priest from a culturally enriching country to 'bless' the figure so that dropping or other action against said figure results in reciprocal behaviour on his Lordship?

Nope. He still gets his daily allowance, housing and subsidised dining for sitting in the HoL.
I very much doubt he has to experience cultural enrichment in his gated up market housing.

He wil still be in the house of Lords making those ever important decisions for the labour party if a new law is passed or new legislation. he wont be stopping any ideas of rejoining the EU will he?

Who decides? Simply get rid of peerages and knighthoods. Certainly we should not use their titles.
One of Sunak's most disastrous decisions was to bring back the eternally unpopular Cameron, Gove, Cleverly and, especially, Hunt. Absolute nightmare .....

Bringing back Cameron as Foreign Secretary was a stroke of genius by Sunak. Who better than an ex PM, already known on the world stage.
Hunt calmed the financial markets from going into meltdown after the Truss mini budget, so for Sunak to keep him was a no brainer.

Sunak appointing Cameron as Foreign Secretary by all the shenanigans of making him a peer was the final nail in the coffin as far as I was concerned about voting Tory. Of course Cameron's gone - what we have come to expect after running when the Brexit vote went against him. Bringing unelected Cameron in didn't help Rishi Sunak's cause turning some Troy voters against him. Cameron has got a "Lordship" out of it - again rewarding failed politicians. Starmer taking a leaf out of Sunak's book by bringing in 2 unelected people into his cabinet by making them Lords too -Starmer has 411 MPs and can't make a cabinet out of them - what does that say about the quality of the people he put forward and the quality of the people the electorate voted for. Apparently the Civil Servants have been working with Labour since January 2024 which is why they are being so quick doing things - why weren't the Civil Service working for the elected Conservative Government - blocking things waiting for Labour - the Civil Service needs clearing out IMO.
