- How to negotiate with startup investors.
I’ll never forget it. When I was negotiating the final terms of our initial $12 million of funding, “Raul”, the venture capitalist leading the deal for Donald Ventures, famously told me that “there was no negotiation”. That’s not exactly what you want to hear.
The point is that it’s tough to negotiate with startup investors. However it can be done.
I’m going to teach you in today’s video when you can negotiate with investors, when you can’t negotiate with investors, what you can negotiate with investors, the terms you should care about in your term sheet, and how you can gain leverage in your investor negotiations.
I hope you like it.

Before the Wright Brother's successful flight. How many people in the world believed, that flight possible, but never even tried.
The key was making the engine have power but be lite weight.
for the algorithm.
1. always be wary of your position when negociating
2. term sheets require a professional's support
3. term sheets are a skill set to master as a startup founder
4. there is work to be done with investors more than you might expect as a ceo. preparing for this stuff is as important as investing your time in your start up.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Thanks to you, we have changed a lot in our presentations and thinking.
I have a question: We are looking for an investor in the automotive industry - we are creating a new brand of electric enduro motorcycles called HEROS, unfortunately in our country (Poland) there are no such mature and large business angels or VC funds.
Where is the best place to look for investors outside the country? Events like Wolves summit?
I would be grateful for your advice.
Regards!
Kuba
I would look in Europe if I couldn't find any investors in Poland. You can use a tool like crunchbase.com to find them.
@@BrettFoxstartupceo Thank you very much for your answer :)
Don’t you find that is bad faith? Friday evening term sheet giving you 24 hours
Great question. Expiration dates on term sheets are short by design. Investors don't want to give you time to shop for a better deal. So, I've seen expiration dates of 24 hours or 72 hours. It is what it is.
