    Excellent video!! Obviously the Sony 24-70 GM II has no competitors, in that case, I think this lens would be more a competitor to the original Sony 24-70 f2.8 GM. Would it be a better option in that case or should we go with a second hand of the original Sony which can be found in a much better offer nowadays?

      I'd say the Sigma is better than the Sony 24-70mm GM mk1. Its lighter, smaller and has better AF performance.

    Question for videographers, which one would you choose, Sony 24-105 f4 OSS vs new sigma 24-70 art mark 2 f2.8? btw I’m using a Sony zv-e1, thanks!! 🙌

    i was really close to buy the 1st one but,
    many people complain for dust dots into the glass that was very easy to have.
    Like a walk in the park was enough..
    hope now Sigma fix this..

      They did with later production of the 1st gen. Should be with this one too.

    3:47; can you elaborate on this point? I'm a s5ii owner considering this lens but really in doubt as wether to go for the Lumix in stead. I do a lot od manual focusing as well as so this point is crucial for me. Have you tested it on the l-mount and how is the manual focus feel? I've used to the sigma 18-35 focus ring so hoping for something similar (yes, not cine lens but good enough for MF).

    Great! I would love to see a review of the L mount version of this lens, in a Lumix S5II for example, to see the things that are missing in the E mount version

    I think one issue with the original sigma was obvious stepping in aperture when it was being changed via auto exposure...unlike lumix lenses which are smooth...do we know if this has changed in the new version?

    i think the shot showing the click/declick switch, youre actually showing the aperture lock

    On the autofocus test, the Sigma II looks colder/more magenta. Do you think its because of camera settings and/or the location?

    • @_rhapsodist
      @_rhapsodist Před 3 měsíci

      that's probably due to the different lens coating on the front element

    How do they compare in terms of contrast and color?. I guess rather similar, but i always liked the sigma look more. I can't tell why exactly.

    Nikon is starting to get 3rd party glass. and they are not putting any restrictions on the glass. Sony needs to stop with their restrictions.

    • @bngr_bngr
      @bngr_bngr Před 3 měsíci

      Because Tamron is making some of the Nikon glass.

    • @photographerjonathan
      @photographerjonathan Před 3 měsíci

      @@bngr_bngr What does that have to do with anything. the restriction have nothing to do with who makes the glass. Sony forces all the 3rd party lens manufactures to agree to their restrictions. so only Sony glass is unrestricted. that is why the Viltrox 16 f1.8 shoots 30fps on a Nikon Z9 and the same lens gets only 15fps on a Sony A1.
