My twin brother, two older sisters and I used to watch this with our late father. He loved Angela Lansbury, and Murder mysteries. Anytime Hercule Poirot came on he would make a b-line to the living room. Every time we would say, “Dad, we feel like a Murder Mystery Marathon(MMM later on),” Dad would start making popcorn, and other snack foods. Fond memories with Dad can’t be beat. Daddy I still miss you.
Awwww. We used to watch Sherlock Holmes like that.
I miss my Dad too
I miss my Dad too. A great human.
I really am going to miss Angela she was a brilliant actress loved her in murder she wrote
Loved watching her alternate character vaudeville performer. Brilliant.
Personality oozing from every pore
Just realized how good of a person Jessica was. Strong but very gracious to everyone around her consistently. I've known plenty of people like this in real life but it's really 'out of fashion' to write a main character like this these days. In modern media we get more "complex" (troubled and inappropriate) heroes these days.
❤❤❤she is indeeed Strong and gracious!!! perfect manners and great boundaries! Loved when she met Magnum, wish she would have met Columbo
@@sahej6939 That would have been awesome.
iv'e got to be honest i don't know if a crossover with columbo would work because the shows are structured differently and personally i have never been a fan of knowing the culprit from the beginning@@LoneCloudHopper
Yeah. Media these days tries to actively avoid creating Mary-Sues.
@@ThePrincessCH Maybe she is one but its not like this is a show where your going to care about the characters too much plus angela said in an interview said the higher ups wanted a love interest but she was agenist it cause she felt it would destroy the mysitque of jessica she wanted it to feel that situations beyond her control didn't allow it to happen
Fun fact - McGill is Angela Lansbury's mother's maiden name;
Wow, I never knew that! You learn something new every day am I right?
Yes I knew that. Her mother was actress Moyna McGill
angela lansbury playing 2 roles brillent
They’re cousins, identical cousins!
3:39 *"One Lump Or Two?"* Mrs. Potts!!! ☕☕🥰
Omg she is one of a kind a lovely lady and a mother
May she rest in peace.
Madame Lansbury.
😞
Pushing Up Rose needs to cover this. 2 Jessicas? Yes please
She even mentioned on one of her videos, I believe, that they never come face to face... I'm either remembering wrong, or she forgot about this episode lol. What I'm confused about is, didn't she just come out with a MSW recap on the vampire episode? And now it's gone...?
Angela played Emma again in season four in the episode titled It Runs in the Family. Jessica doesn't appear at all, it's only Emma who takes after her cousin Jessica and solves the crime. I didn't think it was as good as this episode though. But that's just my personal opinion
She’s mentioned the sequel where Emma takes center stage.
This made me think of Cousin Emma, Alice's twin cousin on The Brady Bunch.
I love this show but oh god, some of the accents are dreadful, clearly filmed in the US not UK!
Angela Lansbury and the solicitor are both Irish/English by birth. He appears in The Hound of the Baskervilles with Jeremy Brett.
Why's the thumbnail look like the pointing spider man meme? 😂😂
i have noticed that Emma's accent is a mix of both Lancashire and Yorkshire
Peacock shows all 12 seasons of a murder she wrote and you don't have to pay !!!
What is peecock
@@theresatellbut9039 It's a type of streaming service that's free you dont have to pay for anything unless you want to go for the premium that has no ads

@@theresatellbut9039 im sorry it use to be on netflix but it was taken down as well
@@simplifywithsakthi9908 Amazon Prime has 6 seasons of murder she wrote
Those are the strangest British accents I’ve ever heard in my life .
Yet Dame Angela Lansbury was not just British but a granddaughter of the former leader of the Labour Party George Lansbury.
Thank you!!!! AWESOME!
Loved her since Gaslight 💖
I love this show but omg the accents are awful in this episode and the streets don't look like London at all - maybe I'm being too picky as a Brit but it really is cringe inducing
@@erinwitcraft9141 She still is since she's still alive but she had a very mid-Atlantic accent at the time due to living in the states for years and all the other actors probably were American. The unrealistic set was the bit I was annoyed about the most.
@@megan3206 But weren’t most of the actors from the United Kingdom? A few I recognized from other shows or movies… like Archie was in Warlock. Or the dude that played Ollie. The one thing I swear by: if you want to know to how write traditional beat-structured tv this is the show to watch and learn from. Hands down and of course this show made cozy mystery books and tv on people’s radar. PBS also helped.
Murder she wrote, Diagnosis Murder. Bedknobs and broomsticks English.
The solicitor is definitely not American. He features regularly in other British tv.
@@msbhaven Patrick Macnee (Oliver), Sarah Douglas (Violet), Glynis Johns (Bridget), Olivia Hussey (Kitty), the actors who played the solicitor and Archie were all British. Angela herself is British born and left the UK when she was 15 in 1940. I'm not sure about the other actors
That sunshine looks very un-Heathrow Airport ;)
A bit like the "England" in Austin Powers II
3:40 okayyy miss Potts
Too cool
Thought split screen didnt exist then lol
Why can't I get the full episode?
1 lump or 2 reminds me of the scene in Nanny McPhee. Anyone here remembers that scene?
A actress from that movie stared episode
The chauffeur did it
New York🌸
I'll forgive the fact that this is still obviously shot in America but that accent is downright awful 😂
Why do London accents in US televion shows always sound so unrealistic and sh*t!
Because they don't hire British actors who can speak the accent perfectly. It happens here too when some of our actors try to speak with an American accent
Does it matter? It's fiction. Red Riding hood 's accent didn't bother me. Neither did Robin Hood. Josie x
I want all of the show not part
I felt the same so I bought all of the seasons on Amazon. If you love Murder She Wrote it is worth every penny. She played Emma again in season four in the episode titled It Runs in the Family. Jessica doesn't appear once in the episode, it's all Emma.
It’s funny cuz her English accent isn’t working for me lol!
Fyjf🌸
Does she have a twin or something
Cousins with a strong genetic resemblance
I always find it interesting how the British are totally preoccupied with accents. Bad or generic American accents are pretty much ignored by Americans. It's just not imporyant enough. But the British will be offended it their accents aren't spot on AND regionally approriate, even down to the correct side of a street.
Not offended, it's just so cringe. It sounds nothing like anywhere in Britain, let alone the "right side of the street".
@@Nickelodeon81 Maybe you aren't "offended," but by your own admission you "cringe." And reading comments on the subject, some British clearly are offended, or something similar. Clearly, the British are preoccupied with pronunciations and accents. Look up "accent shaming." Apparently it's a problem in the UK.
Absolutely.
@@ronaldcammarata3422 That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Sure there is banter when we talk about each others accents but it's not shaming at all. By cringe I mean totally off-putting. It's like trying to follow a story and everyone is talking in a helium voice - you can't ignore it.
It's not "from the wrong side of the street" it's plain cartoonish. You can't shame an accent that doesn't exist anywhere at all other than on TV.
@@ronaldcammarata3422 You should watch some Chinese shows. Actors are often dubbed over because they don't speak the proper Mandarin dialect. The reason for that is that while all Chinese dialects primarily use the same words, it's a phonetic language, how you pronounce one character affects its definition.
