    Goshaws are stealth hunters. They take their time to observe their prey and strike at the best unexpected moment. The buzzard was very likely attacked from behind, so there was no long fight.

      The goshawk is a very shy bird, but is far stronger than the common buzzard. When it really comes down to it, the common buzzard has no chance. The female Goshawk hawk also hunts hares. A common buzzard with its weak claws never be able to do that. The female goshawk is much larger than the male.

      Okay, by your reaction I'm assuming it's it wasn't staged. The reason I asked, was because there's so many videos, especially from third world countries, that use captive raptors portraying wild birds. You probably saw some of those videos. As I mentioned, your video shows a wild Buzzard that had a completely destroyed tail, usually caused by being in a wire cage. I was just curious about that.

      Hi. All I can tell you is that after viewing the contents of the memory card I thought perhaps the Goshawk killed the buzzard, so I went back a few days later and could not find a buzzard carcase. When I got back to view the most recent memory card the same buzzard had been back stealing bait the following afternoon.

    • @ronniegraham6334
      @ronniegraham6334  Před 10 měsíci +1

      After I looked at the card that was in the trail camera and saw what had happened I returned to the site the next day to see if the buzzard had been killed and taken down the hillside a bit. I found no sign of it except a few feathers. I changed the card again and when I looked at the contents I was quite amazed to find that the buzzard with the ragged tail was back again less than 24 hours later feeding on the bait again.
