I moved in the area years ago. I noticed she didn't mention all these awful Warehouses they are building everywhere. Amazon, JC Penney's, FedEx and a ton of food company warehouses the whole area is one big box. They are everywhere especially north of the city. Creating all this traffic and all the roads being beaten up by trucks. They are also adding toll roads everywhere that are very expensive and with digital signs the prices change constantly. All the sports teams being 30 miles away isn't a disadvantage, because the areas close to those stadiums are a circus during game time. .

Moved Fort Worth October 2020. Infrastructure is really lagging behind the huge population in flux. North and northwest inundated with commercial structures, distribution warehouses and the like. I lived most of my 66 yrs. in the DFW area; mostly FW. I agree with all those drawbacks. It's a little sad really. Though I do prefer it to any other city in the metroplex, including the smaller ones. But that may just be a reflection of my familiarity with the town.
The only other places I've lived for an extended period, was Portland, OR (86-96), and Rio Vista, CA for a couple years. Portland was beautiful, and had great mass transit, but the homeless situation has just exploded there. Also, cost of living is out of reach. Rio Vista was too small, so I had to commute 1.5 hours for work.
I'm trying nomad life now - staying on BLM and Natl. Forest land away from big cities and most people. It suits me.

As for traffic, it's waaaay better here than big cities in Florida. I would be stuck in traffic for hours, while here there are plenty of other routes to take to avoid it. It's gotten so huge and congested and 10 times hotter than before. I want to go horse riding, camping, and enjoy all the outdoorsy stuff Texas offers. Also, my experience with Texans have always been great. They aren't MEAN at all. They are unusually nice compared to AZ where someone will roll down their window and threaten to cap you for "cutting them off". Everything is becoming overpriced. It's hot as hell here. There are to many angry people everywhere. I'm so ready to leave. FYI: I'm not a fan of the big metropolitan cities. I like more of a mid size town with upscale amenities and bigger lots. Fort Worth native so take it from me and none of them I’ve been here for a year. 1)weather yes it sucks in the summers. 2)crime I mean I haven’t noticed it though I’ve noticed people moving into area that they should have checked out first. 3) yeah yall quite moving to Texas it’s super crowded. I’ve noticed the dream of owning a home has left the area hardly any and if so pay attention to the area probably most like there is a problem, not reasonably priced, or renting. 4)high electric rates ever since 2021 Ercot has raised rates and to my knowledge has not done much to upgrade. They have rolling blackouts during extreme weather conditions in certain neighborhoods. They also been approved tax payer money for upgrades in 2023 and still charging extra lol. In short retro spec the infrastructure needs some major upgrades. Lastly FWISD schools do suck. Graduated from FWISD and I missed so much on stuff compared to my sister who graduated from KISD and they were way ahead of us. So there you have it.

Okay, NO PROFESSIONAL SPORTS TEAMS is kind of bogus - Ft. Worth is plenty close enough to see the Rangers and Cowboys, and Dallas isn't really all that far or tough to get to. I agree with the weather and with the electricity issue, as well as traffic. All of that sucks. Crime...yeah, there are parts of town where crime is bad, but - I cycle all over this city, and I've NEVER experienced a personal safety issue. So, there's that. The Trinity Trails are reason enough for anyone who likes to ride or run to come to Fort Worth - soon, this will be a 65 mile loop from Benbrook (near Southwest side) to Dallas and back. So - forget public transportation! Get on a bike and ride from Fort Worth to Dallas and back! Fort Worth Schools are not great...but NO school system in Texas is great! I think they're poised to get better, but there are too many nutty school boards to deal with now. It'll be better in the future. I have faith in that. Fort Worth is fine! This whole area is really fine. The only complaints I really have are the electricity and the weather. Cheers!

We just moved to Fort Worth over the summer from NY. Complete culture shock. Eventually we did get settled in. The biggest disappointment however is that I moved to suburban Fort Worth, Haslet specifically.
I did my due diligence and as much research as I could. I could barely find anything about it good or bad. So far everything seemed great.
There are things I knew and expected and things I didn't foresee and couldn't have known without actually living here.
I have children. Northwest ISD is supposed to be in the top 15 percent of the state. My son's middle school was great for the most part but it was overcrowded with twice the capacity of children, there was tons of fighting which I didn't expect in a place like this it was pretty much like a glammed up school in the hood.
The school itself was good but many of the children that were attending clearly didn't come from good homes.
Even where I live apparently it's "low income" housing in the suburbs and the kids are very ghetto and violent. They keep trying to start trouble with mine and pretty much if I wanted to be around extra hood people I'm sorry I could have stayed in the Bronx and had better transportation and been near my family
I'm happy with my apartment but not the people I live around or the fact that they didn't even know us despite us minding our business and they kept bullying my son who was not even in their grade and literally twerking by the pool in this gated community.
It's literally a high end hood rat habitat and I could have stayed up north in a smaller apartment but with more mobility and transportation options. If I was gonna live in the suburban "hood," I could have stayed in a real one and had a better chance with my kids going to a private school like I did
Fortunately there are lots of options here for school that was the saving grace. Where I moved is great if you don't have kids but if you do apparently Haslet is still Fort Worth and it brings in kids from Denton county too
I'm so thankful I don't have to send my son to school every day coming home every day to tell me kids want to fight him and upload to CZcams. I did not move all the way to TX from NY for this!
Virtual school is ok but we might homeschool. Saving grace too is it's homeschool friendly which we really need. I'm glad i rent because if I paid property tax to live in even the nice part of Fort Worth I'd be super upset to send my son to schools like where I just removed him
We stay inside all the time because we don't want to run in to any trouble with our neighbors. I'm always in constant worry mode they may try to assault us and I'll call the cops in a quick minute
If this is the "nice part" of Fort Worth thankfully I didn't move to the actual city. This really concerns me especially for people looking to buy homes here that are sold a dream and delivered a nightmare!

@@ashleymason9290 we literally mind our business and don't bother anyone. My son is autistic. You don't even know what happened or us from a can of beans and you're jumping to conclusions
My son was perceived as weak due to his clear differences as a special needs child
He was failed by NY and after doing a little research before coming here I had higher hopes which were shot down rather quickly.
These "fine young ladies" with no supervision who aren't even in high school were at our complex unabashedly twerking at the pool on social media in front of FAMILIES trying to enjoy the pool.
Not only did these two same young ladies in particular do that but they also literally fought each other in a big BRAWL with at least 10 other teenagers on this property which had me in utter disbelief and that's an understatement.
Based on their behavior I thought they were much older than my child so I figured we wouldn't interact any further but they were also in the middle school.
As a parent with kids in this age range I would never allow my kids to be so out of control for many reasons. It's actually quite a shame. I do pity them because yes they are children and they can't help it because clearly they don't come from good homes and that only invites trouble when you intermingle or allow your kids to intermingle with people like that which is completely neglectful honestly.
So frankly, as a reasonably minded person and a caring parent after a month I had to pull my kids out of the schools for their own safety because these same two girls who aren't even in my son's grade but literally bully all the other kids at the complex especially my son the new kid who has clear differences
These "fine young ladies" thought it was a good idea to bully an autistic kid at school not even in their grade, gang up with their friends and beat him up because he is "ugly" and "stupid" to them.
What kind of parent would I be to tolerate this or tell my kid this CLASSLESS yes HOODRAT behavior is ok! You are straight TRIPPING lady!
You don't have to understand or agree with me. We are just strangers to each other or the internet but you aren't me or my kid you haven't walked a mile in our shoes or been tortured by these kind of people which we were trying to avoid!!
What upset me the most is after all the work and effort I put in before coming here is I felt deceived! I'm just going to continue to mind my business, take care of my kids and not bother anyone and if that's "disgusting," sounds like a YOU problem.
FYI, just look at the reviews of this place and literally other people experienced the same thing. In the meantime, I'm just going to peacefully finish my lease and stay away from the riff raff it's a free country I can express my opinion. Just because you don't understand or agree doesn't mean I'll keep quiet for you
No more mixed income apartments that takes HUD. I'm not on it and not judging anyone that is it's the poor behavior regardless of class I have an issue with my love. Sorry this is just not my cup of tea. Have a nice day!

The schools are the only issue, there is do agree. But all those other issues people will experience as well if they move to Arlington, HEB, Dallas, Irving, etc. Even up in Plano and Frisco. And Arlington is right there next to FW, just a drive down 30 to watch a game. Plano and all those other areas up north don't have sports teams either. I've been her all my life, born and raised here. For as to the weather I think it's really not that bad. Once an a blue moon we might get some bad weather hot or cold, and even if we do! It's only for a day or two in the sun is back out. They have many K-12 Schools, Colleges, Universities, MedSchools and affordable Schools, Housing and Tons of good decent paying jobs and business here in the Metro Plex of Fort Worth. They're some good school in Fort Worth,Tx. There are plenty fun things to do in Fort Worth with your family, friends or couples. In doors and Out doors entertainments, water parks, indoors race track, sky diving, mountain climbing, zip lines, movie theater, game room for kids and adults, museum, zoo, water garden, botanic gardens, Malls, in and out door markets, Downtown business, restaurant, shopping mall centers, stadium's and concerts, sports, and comedy club, night clubs, trail runs, bike trail, Trinity River where you can boat ride, scuba diving, tube ride, fish, Minnie train ride, and city buses, city trains, commute from Downtown Fort Worth, Tx to Dallas, Tx. So much more things you can do! You just have to do your research of the area you want to live in. Up NorthWest and SouthWest are decent area to live. SouthEast, South Side are home to the Community of family for years. Older and Newer homes, comfortable in their settings and environment. Down on the South Side to Earth Side people are home like people that's been here for years... People think Fort Worth is like a Cow-Town, or Country, because of it name. We do have the Stock Show and Rodeo Show, at the Arena, where Cowgirl's, Cowboy's and Black Cowboy's ride horses, Bull roping and riding. At Dickies Arena, where they different events, Concerts, Comedy, Sports, Wrestling, Sports Competition, Monsters Trucks a host of other events.. But, yes we do have some beautiful Country homes in the areas south and north of Fort Worth a lot of properties and land you can build homes and business. An yes you might see some horses, cows, goats, pigs and other wild life in that part of area. Nice peaceful quite area if, you want that Country feel or the City feel that's what I like about Fort Worth as we call it! ( Funky Town),Tx. The downside of Fort Worth is... Yes! The traffic, not enough Groceries Stores. It's a lot of the same restaurants you passing up like with in 5 to 15 miles radius. Unless you drive far out or West and North. Population is growing rapidly from 2008 to Now and still growing 2022. Waiting in longer lines at Groceries stores and drive Thur restaurant or fast food. Back in the day you could pull up anywhere or at a red light and see your family, friends, neighbors, classmates or co-workers. That's how bad the population is growing. Other than that I think Fort Worth is a good area where the the weather is really not that bad. I would want to be here than anywhere else. With the floods, droughts and wildfire's and higher crime going on in all parts of the world It state that in the Bible. I know it doesn't matter where you live crime is all over.. I'm satisfied here in Funky Town... But, Us Texans don't like the fast growing population we just want to breathe the air every now in then, when we go out! As, to where it's not as crowded we are used to the open space at stores are while driving... But, We are no strangers to visitors.. We Welcome the visitors... Like, family once you have adapted to the city of Fort Worth,Tx. Over all this is 92% the best place to live.. It's really not that bad here. If, you haven't live here for a long time you don't no! ❤️🤗😎

I lived there for 55 years and go back often. Lived in the hard of the Hood in Southside (Fish Bowl). Was a community organizer that brought a tremendous change in the neighborhood housing..God called my parents to Fort Worth in the 60's. Fort Worth is good but it is not for the foolish or the weak at heart. I graduated from college attending from TCU and TCCCD South. Graduated with excellence in academic s. If God have not called you there then do not go.

Well I seen a Church down there that teaches the Whole Bible which means they ain't Woke.. Don't mind the heat as we get older..Crime is the concern but how I understand there's Real Men down there so defending family shouldn't be a problem.. Appreciate the Honesty and will consider visiting.. The highways look like a bad puzzle waiting to toll money out your pocket but we will find out😂👍

As someone who grew up in Fort Worth and lived in EVERY neighborhood and side of town. For out of Towners, DO NOT MOVE HERE, you can get a luxury apartment and you’ll see me arguing with dopefiends in the parking lot, across the street, drinking a 40. Occasionally there’ll be a half naked man walking next to your 2020 model car. Mind you, the projects or “hood”, low income neighborhoods are less than 1,000 feet away from your $2,000 a month apartment

I've never seen a naked man. There are a lot of homeless around tho.
