    I said in the video, by accident, that the 27FB is 25ft. It actually has an exterior length of 28ft!

    You’re doing a great job of talking about this trailer in this videos. Thank you!

    Though “Patrick” is considered the gold bar standard in Airstreams, I’d consider you a close second. Nice job; refreshing.

    Thanks for opening the cabinets & showing the mirrors, I added these to the cabinets in my International

    This is really very nice, but not suitable for people who get around with walkers or wheelchairs. But then, I haven't seen any handicapped friendly models. I'm curious to know if any exist, so I'm going to do a search for them. Not worried about getting up the stairs tho. There are portable ramps, and they could be stowed on the floor inside while traveling.
    Thanks for posting this video. Although it's not handicapped friendly, it really is very nice. It's loaded with lots of great features.😃👏👍

      Thank you for your comment! You’re right that newer Airstreams aren’t super handicapped friendly. The only RVs I’ve seen that are handicapped friendly are motorhomes. I believe Winnebago has one.

    On-demand water heater - if you turn on the shower and get hot water, then, turn it off to soap up, then turn it back on, is the water going to stay hot? Or, do you get a “cold water sandwich”?

    • @ChadsRVReviews
      @ChadsRVReviews  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Cold sandwich. The Trade Wind will stay warm because it has a recirculation pump.

    Great video, i would like to see you sit on the john to demonstrate how much leg/knee room you have, I am not a short or thin man and it is a factor. Thanks again!

    I’ve been told by previous AS customers about the defects of the door locks on AS & being locked out ? ? Has this issue been addressed ? ?

    • @ChadsRVReviews
      @ChadsRVReviews  Před rokem

      My understanding is that they made changes to the 2021 model year. I've been told that they are better now!

      Winnebago has this issue as well. Spent a year living in a 28' brand new Winnebago and had to drive home to let my wife in twice after she let dog out in the morning. we eventually hid a key, so it was no longer an issue, but come on. leaving a key to enter your trailer outside is not ideal. just fix the problem. this is the main reason my wife hates RV's. she views all RV companies as run by idiots that are slow to process easy fix issues. she has disgust with the whole industry. TBH, this locking yourself out of an RV is common amongst all brands because they all use so many of the same suppliers. just fix these issues.
      Let me further elaborate for context and understanding.
      At start of the pandemic, my wife and I got a great offer on our house. We accepted, but as most of you know it was sellers’ market, not a buyers’ market.
      We determined it would take a year to find a house at an affordable price, yet still nice. We could put everything into storage and get an apartment or stay in a suite hotel. we have a dog, so any decent hotel was out of the question, because of the surcharge for animals.
      I have a lot of experience in RVs, but my wife did not. At the time, I explained it is a boat on land. She had no experience with boats, either, lol.
      Anyway, we ended up living in that RV for a year before we found our house. Saved a lot of money by that decision, because we only lost a few thousand on the RV, but saved a ton on any other choice.
      The idea was also to condition my wife to what an RV is. We are about to retire and want to tour the USA National Parks and thought this would be a great beginner course on RV life.
      My wifes answer after a year in an RV?
      100k for a nice travel trailer? That buys a lot of nice hotel rooms. I argued, but you cannot park in the parks! To wake up in the morning and walk out and enjoy your coffee amongst nature and not on a concrete pad is beautiful!
      Back to those locks, locking you out. Deal killer for her. She has PTSD from that, lol
      Again, the RV industry needs to fix these stupid easy to fix things.
      Final thought.
      Do not get a large storage unit. sell everything. get the smallest storage unit you need, if you actually need one. Thing is, when you get to your new home, most of what you kept im storage is getting tossed or sold anyway.

    Does the dealer installed 3 inch lift kit void the airstream warranty? I live airstream the the low riding stance makes using a portable waste tank a lot more difficult. That means using something like a exterior macerator sewer pump. I currently use one on my trailer but it is one more thing to pack

    • @ChadsRVReviews
      @ChadsRVReviews  Před rokem

      The 3” lift kit doesn’t void the warranty!

    • @bobmariano3731
      @bobmariano3731 Před rokem +1

      I really can’t see a 3 inch lift kit making it less aero dynamic towing or less efficient, actually better clearance for slightly off road ( gravel /dirt ) for Boondocking also ? ? Why has airstream quit making slides ? ? Great video thx 👍

    • @ChadsRVReviews
      @ChadsRVReviews  Před rokem

      @@bobmariano3731, The only customers I have that got the 3" left kit needed extra room for getting in their driveway. I haven't seen any test to confirm this, but I think it would be less efficient with a 3-inch lift kit. The reason they stopped making the slideout floor plan was simply that few were purchased. My understanding is that from 2002 until 2009, when they made them, they sold less than 100.

    are the tanks heated for freezing weather living?

    • @ChadsRVReviews

      It an enclosed underbelly that is heated by the furnace. The Basecamp is the only model that ships with the heating strips for the tanks.

  • @jamesvelvet3612

    Does anyone really care what the outside of an Airstream looks like? Why the walk around? Money shots are the interior, not a rambling, swaying video of the exterior pointing out what every single person knows: Here is the water flush, here is the cable TV connector...nobody cares ;-) Get a tripod or Steady Cam. Filmed like you were on a ship or leaving a bar ;-)

    • @ChadsRVReviews

    • @wanderdawg539
      @wanderdawg539 Před rokem +1

      Yes, the exterior is important. Location of some of the accessories can affect overall performance. For instance on the Classic the outside shower is right next to the power input and hot air exhaust for the hydroponic heating is right next to the door…..neither good engineering design.
