Adonis Tabanda is the guy she kept turning around to communicate with. Adonis has been with Mori for years and his Third Avenue Band is Mori's main band. If you have seen Mori's incomparable Bruno Mars medley or her acapella version of RIse Up, Adonis arranged both of those (and many more). Mori's musicians are the best of the best. I am no musician, but I am pretty sure she was not turning around to call out a mistake by the band. I think that most of this was improvised and that Mori was turning to somehow signal where she might be going next.

Her Bruno Mars Evolution Medley is incredible, It is an original created by her and 3rd Ave, She made pieces of 15 Bruno Mars songs her own in less than 8 minutes and is a Master Class in transitions between songs. The way she corrected the backing musician, to me was a little bit off putting, especially her re-emphasising the correct note by raising her voice higher on that note in the next phrase after turning to them. However, her overall performance was awesome and her trills are on point and I like the subtleties between the highs and lows. I also liked the way the musicians were almost improvising in a few places. 👏
I don't think she was correcting, more so just looking back to see what happened. The emphasis on the correct note after was probably just to make sure they were on the same page. Improvisation can be tricky.
Just watch her concert that she did a few years ago with a veteran artist by yhe name of LANI MISALUCHI, shes twice MORISSETTES age but the two of them where absolutely magnificent the way they worked together 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.

I never thought it was "calling out" perse. Moreso a, "Oh that sounded off, did I miss something? Where are we going?" Type of thing.
