    So, if I understood correctly, the clumping bamboo will spread by about 6 or 7 inches per year, extending from the growth of the emerging grass cane so although it isn't sending out runners, it CAN, if not managed, eventually widen and spread over time? Like, it doesn't actually stay clumped if not controlled, is that correct, or did I miss something? I would REALLY like to install a clumping bamboo long my fence line (my neighbors have an above ground pool and deck RIGHT UP AGAINST MY FENCE SO THERE'S 0 PRIVACY AT ALL TIMES DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS! I really love my neighbors but, something must be done about the privacy issue!).

    • @ANGIEB52
      @ANGIEB52 Před 2 lety

      Probably should build a tall privacy screen/ fence with the bamboo, unless you can pull the bamboo back from the fence line because you might get complaints for leaves clogging the neighbors pool. Saw that issue on another post.

    I've read people should avoid sellers that are selling freshly dug plants. Is this true? If it is then what is the best way to buy bamboo to have the best chance for a healthy plant?

      Yes when you cut the rhizome you should see some little bud points cut a 6-7” section and plant horizontally in a pot or the ground

    To control bamboo after they sprout and become 2to3 feet snap the top ,
    they snap will easy and that's it, that particular bamboo will die and rot away .

    When he did the pruning, he failed to mention that some of the cutting could have been candidates for rooting in order to produce new plants. I know the video wasn't about propagation, but he could have mentioned it in passing.
