    This brother and his group are fantastic and I really miss this type of music on a broad media scale. R&B, Funk, and Rock are all at their best when merged with the depth of Jazz music. Thanks for posting.

    I had a "funk" band in high school.. If we only had access to youtube back then.. The corporate record store didnt carry stuff like this. Somehow we wrote similar stuff by accident, probably absorbed from old tv shows and movies like CHPs and car chase scenes. We had no idea we were hearing Herbie Hancock and Bob James. I know now.

      Great guy great talent. Look for my Vinyl Re-Release to honor my Dad A&R, producer, and label owner Sonny Lester.
      Dad passed recently. Looking back on all the studio sessions I attended. Fun times and great energy sessions.

    Is it just me or is Amy Winehouse's 'Valerie' taken from Lonnie Smith's 'It's Changed' ??!? Listen to those 2 bass notes, leading into the major 7 guitar chords. It might be half step up or down, but it's definitely the same thing!
