Just gave birth to my baby girl and had horrible heartburn right until I went into labor. The only thing that helped was not eating anything heavy at night, tums, and sleeping with my head elevated. Hope this helps!
Also, sleep on your left side! It may sound weird but it's because the shape of the stomach and where it connects to the esophagus is significant with acid reflux.
Me too! In 2016 a few weeks before i had my baby girl I had terrible heartburn. Only thing that helped a bit was a kind of youghurt milk drink. I went 4 days overdue and it was awful😂

I love your outlook on pregnancy weight gain. I am 35 weeks pregnant and gained a lot more than I thought I would… but it is our body’s way of making sure our little one is growing and nourished. It’s a beautiful thing!❤

KELSEY! 25 weeks pregnant here. Famotidine tablets (Pepcid) you can get them over the counter but my OB recommended this since I was taking like 15 tums a day. You take a tablet in the morning and a tablet at night and I basically don’t take tums any more and it’s baby safe
Whenever I have heartburn I drink half a glass of milk. It really helps.
My boyfriend and I do this too!! Works so well. 👌
It helps but i heard recently it can cause it to become worse later? I could be wrong

@@LiterallyKuma yea like from what i read (and i was shocked because a glass always helped me) long term it can sort of cause acid reflux to progress. But it’s probably so tiny anyways if that’s true the reward out ways the risk lol

It’s so exciting seeing all these babies being born recently, I’m almost 20 weeks pregnant and so excited to experience motherhood while so many others are. Such a fun thing to think about ❤ so happy for you Kelsey!

YAY a vlog!! Chick, you are GLOWING! and your nails looks amazing! I really like Famotidine for heartburn, it’s the only thing that works for me. I just take it in the morning with a glass of water before I eat anything. I also like the chewy Tums for extra relief! Have a great turkey day!! Gobble gobble!!

I have chronic gastritis, and for me I really do well with having a little bit of milk for instant relief, and then for long term relief I’ve been taking an extra strength antacid prescribed by my gastro!

Gamechanger for heartburn at night is to get the head of your bed a few inches higher. I bought furniture risers and put them under the feet of the bed on the head side, then a mid height one under the foot in the middle of the bed so there's support in the middle. My dr also said that some people put a piece of wood or something under the head of the mattress
You could also try a Protein Pump Inhibitor for acid reflux... I believe they are safe for pregnant women

My daughter is a year now, but I had horrible indigestion/reflux when I was pregnant with her and found that eating less but more frequently, eating less acidic foods (which can be SO hard with pregnancy cravings), and taking famotidine daily helped. I definitely went through different phases where it would be worse, but I would ask your doctor about it so you don't have to struggle. Pregnancy is hard! Wishing you a very easy rest of your pregnancy and delivery! I love watching your and Cody's videos!

Currently 10 weeks along and am having the worst indigestion and heartburn... I have been also using TUMS, but have found Mylanta to give me the most instant relief. I also have found that having more small meals has also helped... and just eating super slow. I hope this helps, mama
Girllllll skip the tums and get on that Pepcid life - tums is pretty mild, you gotta take a bunch to feel it, Pepcid is stronger or you could just skip right to 1/2 tsp baking soda in a cup of water (add a lil juice for taste). Always ask you doctor first tho! :)
Milk always helped me when I was dealing with same discomfort during pregnancy🥛💯 Hope you feel better soon ✌️❤
Hey midwife here! Taking digestive enzymes before meals works really good for heartburn. Also eating small frequent meals rather than big meals, avoiding trigger foods (such as acidic things, you can google what foods can trigger heartburn), and not laying down for about 30 minutes to an hour after eating. Also if you want relief during an episode you can drink aloe Vera juice!

when I’ve done my skincare and want a lil extra something before makeup I’ll give a light wash to my face and then add moisturizer to my extra dry areas (nose, chin, between and on my brows). Def makes the makeup set better :)

This is what we all needed today. As for indigestion, I’m not sure if you can have aloe juice while pregnant but it’s a lifesaver. Pure aloe doesn’t taste great but mixed with water it’s not terrible. Or you can take it like a shot. You can find it at cvs ❤ hope that helps

For ur tummy, digestive bitters in the morning, kombucha or kefir, and dietary fiber every day and every meal. Also, ginger and turmeric and peppermint, help so much with the heartburn aspect.

…I felt crazy when I looked at the thumbnail and saw chicken salad chicks. I drove by one on my way home (right before coming home and putting on this video) and thought “I want to try that one of these days but don’t hear much about it” 😭😂
Probiotics help me with indigestion, like Yakult. For heartburn I try to eat slower, sit upright after eating, and use the 14 day time release heartburn treatment/piles.
try preggie pops!! theyre little ginger candies you can get from target, i use them even with normal heart burn that isnt pregnancy related and they taste really good!! it works better for me than tums because youre not just chewing and swallowing but sucking on a candy for a while :)
Reflux is common in the third trimester due to all the pressure on your stomach. The best way to prevent reflux from getting up into your throat while you are laying down is to incline the head of the bed. Propping yourself up with pillows can disperse your weight uncomfortably so it’s best to sleep on an inclined mattress. Lots of companies make wedge pillows or wedge inserts that you put under the mattress that let you sleep at an incline comfortably.
Also avoid eating too late at night, especially acidic food (which includes more than you’d think; stuff like tomato, onion, garlic, etc.) Def talk to your OB if the reflux or the heart burn start to affect you too badly

I have horrible acid reflux so i gotchu. Try almond milk (coats the stomach). Best thing you can do is take 1/2 tsp of baking soda and 6 oz of water and It works SO well. Pepcid complete always works wonders!❤️ Goodluck and happy pregnancy :’)

okay acid reflux symptom management!! i have so many GI issues. daily pepcid, carrafate (doc can prescribe), gasx, probiotics, identifying trigger foods (usually dairy/fried/spicy food) & avoiding especially before bed. prop yourself up with a bunch of pillows when u sleep so you’re upright. and if it’s not getting better in like a week try prilosec ! best of luck, feel better kelsey :3

If it’s super bad! I took Omeprazole, not all the time! But when it got to bad, it was a life saver! I had that, and Zofran for nausea from my OB! My god it was bad lol! peppermint tea for heartburn/indigestion is the BEST, or most supermarkets will have a digestion/tummy tea xxx
All I craved while I was pregnant was spice and the heartburn was killer! Propping myself up a little for sleep helped

In Australia we’ve got Gaviscon and Quick Eze and they helped me so much in my pregnancy!! Also hot tea before bed 🙌 and limit gluten lol

The chicken salad chick in Charleston SC is actually very good. You have to try the jalapeño flavor. There’s a bagel shop in the same parking lot since a lot of Ny’ers moved to Charleston and we get bagels and then put the chicken salad ontop 😜
