Saw an interesting article the other day. (for educational purposes only).
There is a reason that most countries polled in December 2013 by Gallup called the United States the greatest threat to peace in the world, and why Pew found that viewpoint increased in 2017.
But it is a reason that eludes that strain of U.S. academia that first defines war as something that nations and groups other than the United States do, and then concludes that war has nearly vanished from the earth.
Since World War II, during a supposed golden age of peace, the United States military has killed or helped kill some 20 million people, overthrown at least 36 governments, interfered in at least 85 foreign elections, attempted to assassinate over 50 foreign leaders, and dropped bombs on people in over 30 countries. The United States is responsible for the deaths of 5 million people in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, and over 1 million just since 2003 in Iraq.
Since 2001, the United States has been systematically destroying a region of the globe, bombing Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Libya, Somalia, Yemen, and Syria, not to mention the Philippines. The United States has “special forces” operating in two-thirds of the world’s countries and non-special forces in three-quarters of them.
The U.S. government provides weapons, military training, and/or military funding to almost every dictatorship and oppressive government on earth. See my 2020 book 20 Dictators Currently Supported by the U.S.
U.S. weapons are used on both sides of many wars.
In an attempt to quantify U.S. warmaking, I’ve copied below lists from these sources:
David Vine: The United States of War
William Blum: America’s Deadliest Export: Democracy
Dr. Zoltan Grossman: A Century of U.S. Military Interventions
James Lucas: U.S. Has Killed More Than 20 Million People
From David Vine’s The United States at War:
A list of wars (italic) and of military combat that for some reason isn’t called a war (non-italic) that does not attempt to include every war and combat against Native Americans:

It is already happening, applications to join BRI and BRICS have been inncreasing weekly. Even KSA applied for BRICS which means the death of petrodollar rule over the world.. 70% of the world now is outside of the US empire, and represents all the growing economies. I an American who has been living in Russia for 22 years and can see daily the more optimistic views and confidence that result in Russia turning its back on the empire and Europe after centuries of abuse and hostilities from the west. The majority of Russians clearly want all trade to end but Russia always honors contracts and treaties so Europe will still get resources needed for its declining industries until the contracts expire. They will not be renewed however so the US and Europe are going to wish they had not been so aggressive about threatening Russia by moving US missiles right up to Russia's border as it has been doing for 7 decades. Everyone in the west it talking about prices increasing but they are at least getting those commodities but soon will not get them at any price. Russia is simply not going to trade countries that are hostile aggressors. Europe is in a triple bind, a vassal to the US, having no say in their own future and being cut off from the rapidly expanding second pole of the new multi-polar world that was created in March when the US broke apart its ownn unipolar workd order. 70% of the world population is now outside the US empire. The massive change has not hit Americans yet but soon will. Even KSA is moving to the second pole so the dollar will no longer be the world reserve currency. That changes everything. Why all the world moving away from the empire? Simple, they are all victims of western imperialism and Russia has exposed the US and NATO as weak and ineffective so the targetted world is moving to the exit door. The US ruled as Europe did for 400 years, by violence and aggression but now the world sees when it sticks together, the US and its NATO are beatable.

If people learn to look things from other people's point of view, and treat other people the way he/she want to be treated, the world would have less troubles. If from the start Ukraine can be made to be a neutral country backed and guaranteed by both Russia and Western powers, the Ukrainian would not have to suffer as they are now, and the world would have experience less problems as it does now.

The people in the administration were supposed to be strategic thinkers, not some kindergarten children keep shouting, "I did nothing wrong", "we should be allowed to do this" or "he started it." The policy towards Russia was a disaster.

  • @riodejaneiro4793

The war ends when Russia decides to end it, either by leaving a landlocked Ukraine as a buffer, or by taking it all. NATO (read the US) has LOST not only the military war but also the economic war. The US should acknowledge this reality and work to build a lasting peace (wishful thinking).
