- “Russia needs to leave [Ukraine], but the United States doesn't need to fill in afterwards. That's the basic point.”
Columbia University Center for Sustainable Development Director Jeffrey Sachs discusses Russia’s war in Ukraine and the costs of a divided world. - Zábava
Fully agree with Prof Sacks. His comments made CNN host uncomfortable. He tried very hard to stop or disrupt professor. Look closely at his lips, it is uncontrollablly moving.
Agree !
People know the West is unprincipled.
Censorship machine works like never ever before.
MSM anchors are well trained to disrupt the opposing side so they cannot get a word in or very few words in
I disagree with him. Russia will never leave so why even suggest it?? What he should tell the media is for US to stop suppirting the war and zelensky to concede
Thank God for honest people like Prof Sachs

@@drakekoefoed1642 Oh, he knows. He was there in 1991. He was in Moscow as part of the American delegation, and saw it all turn to shit when the Americans squandered the golden moment when they could have made Russia their ally and partner.
Saw an interesting article the other day. (for educational purposes only).
There is a reason that most countries polled in December 2013 by Gallup called the United States the greatest threat to peace in the world, and why Pew found that viewpoint increased in 2017.
But it is a reason that eludes that strain of U.S. academia that first defines war as something that nations and groups other than the United States do, and then concludes that war has nearly vanished from the earth.
Since World War II, during a supposed golden age of peace, the United States military has killed or helped kill some 20 million people, overthrown at least 36 governments, interfered in at least 85 foreign elections, attempted to assassinate over 50 foreign leaders, and dropped bombs on people in over 30 countries. The United States is responsible for the deaths of 5 million people in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, and over 1 million just since 2003 in Iraq.
Since 2001, the United States has been systematically destroying a region of the globe, bombing Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Libya, Somalia, Yemen, and Syria, not to mention the Philippines. The United States has “special forces” operating in two-thirds of the world’s countries and non-special forces in three-quarters of them.
The U.S. government provides weapons, military training, and/or military funding to almost every dictatorship and oppressive government on earth. See my 2020 book 20 Dictators Currently Supported by the U.S.
U.S. weapons are used on both sides of many wars.
In an attempt to quantify U.S. warmaking, I’ve copied below lists from these sources:
David Vine: The United States of War
William Blum: America’s Deadliest Export: Democracy
Dr. Zoltan Grossman: A Century of U.S. Military Interventions
James Lucas: U.S. Has Killed More Than 20 Million People

No, no, no.....see in America they're called entrepreneurs.......😆
It is already happening, applications to join BRI and BRICS have been inncreasing weekly. Even KSA applied for BRICS which means the death of petrodollar rule over the world.. 70% of the world now is outside of the US empire, and represents all the growing economies. I an American who has been living in Russia for 22 years and can see daily the more optimistic views and confidence that result in Russia turning its back on the empire and Europe after centuries of abuse and hostilities from the west. The majority of Russians clearly want all trade to end but Russia always honors contracts and treaties so Europe will still get resources needed for its declining industries until the contracts expire. They will not be renewed however so the US and Europe are going to wish they had not been so aggressive about threatening Russia by moving US missiles right up to Russia's border as it has been doing for 7 decades. Everyone in the west it talking about prices increasing but they are at least getting those commodities but soon will not get them at any price. Russia is simply not going to trade countries that are hostile aggressors. Europe is in a triple bind, a vassal to the US, having no say in their own future and being cut off from the rapidly expanding second pole of the new multi-polar world that was created in March when the US broke apart its ownn unipolar workd order. 70% of the world population is now outside the US empire. The massive change has not hit Americans yet but soon will. Even KSA is moving to the second pole so the dollar will no longer be the world reserve currency. That changes everything. Why all the world moving away from the empire? Simple, they are all victims of western imperialism and Russia has exposed the US and NATO as weak and ineffective so the targetted world is moving to the exit door. The US ruled as Europe did for 400 years, by violence and aggression but now the world sees when it sticks together, the US and its NATO are beatable.

Don't be idiotic, Russia had no intention of invading/attacking Sweden or Finland. It comes down to weak leadership from those two countries. They reacted to their fear rather than fact. Prof Sacks is totally correct.
And thats gonna make more problems. Russia will put their nukes next to Finland and Sweden border, in Kaliningrad, they will help US and NATO enemies like Iran having Nukes, and the world will be more divided. One side is West (EU and US in general), other side will be Russia, China, Iran, Africa, South America and some more.
And Im telling you, the Russian side will be more powerful and stronger militarily and economically. They already have 60% of the world population. They will have more then half of the world economy. But these will happen in more than 20years. It has already started.
I just had a conversation with some Swedish friends. When I suggested that by giving up neutrality they were giving up their freedom by becoming puppets of the US run NATO. I think Richard Quest is also a very good interviewer because he allowed Professor Richard Sachs to finish explaining all his points and views without unnecessary usual CNN interruption.
Good that Jeff Sachs was steadfast in finishing what he needs to say,
as this CNN guy tries to cut to him off. Such kind of media is destroying any trust we have today's media.
That's only because CNN being the lousy inaccurate news media channel it is, had to do something to get their ratings up!! LOL They are phony just like the left democrats are! LOL They change for whatever the flavor of the week is.
The interviewer is either a moron or a fool, with CNN probably both.
Finally, CNN has a commentator that says something worthwhile
Sanity from Jeffrey Sachs. Good for him for keeping his cool in face of "fight to the last Ukrainian" pro-war questioning on the part of CNNs State Department stenographer.
Sorry would not even click in to this link/CNN/Quest were it not Jeffrey Sachs speaking; As always, Prof Sachs is on the money and speaking the truth--one of the few Americans speaking out courageously.
Unfortunately hes of the minority. I'm surprised he's even allowed on CNN. Usually the "warmongers" are the invited guests.
Russia won the war, so it should not leave parts of Ukraine that is vital for its national security, given how the US and Nato is so aggressive in their expansion.. Russia should stay in Ukraine, just like Israel has never withdrew from the land they occupied after winning 2 wars against Arab countries.. it has been almost 60 years west bank and Golan heights are still under Israel occupation.. and no Nato countries ever cared about it.. so yes, Russia has the right to just follow what Israel had done.. and even better, because the Russian speaking people in that part of Ukraine really loves Russia than the Azov Nazi lovers Ukraine !!!
I too hesitated on clicking this video, by once in a while would love see how the MSM get twisted at the arm.
Exactly.. I clicked only bcs prof Jeffrey Sachs shows up
Prof: John Mearsheirmer and the late Dr. Stephen Cohen spoke vehemently about this crisis several years ago, but most people fallowed the msm blindly without any critical thinking.
Thank you professor Sachs. The world need more people like you !!!!!!!
This man spoke the TRUTH 100% 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Wow! Yeah I’m surprised that CNN will let this aired.
Absolutely correct
A lot of people probably don't want to hear it but there are very few people who can speak with the authority of Jeffrey Sachs.
I totally agree with this man .God bless you 🙏 ♥️
Very good analysis!
Prof Sachs knows his history well and knows how to keep the peace. US will find that he is right after all
US knows he's right but doesn't care. US aim is to destroy Russia and China.
I think he is totally incompetent. There is no signs of stagflation. Job market iis great. He is an idiot.
But he also doesn’t point out the facts of the way other countries such as china haven’t been promoting peace either. IP theft, SCS bases in international water, enhanced cyber attacks for decades now. There are more ways to stoke confrontation then using weapons of war.
Jeffrey Sachs seems almost always right. We have divided the world, and that arose from competition, and from capitalist acquisition and accumulation. The ultimate answer must lie in the simple notion that people must cooperate. We must all live on this planet with caring for the rest of the people. Through cooperation we rise; through the market place we are divided and must fail.
Rare to hear a professional view on the causes of the War in Ukraine. The host obviously unconfortable. I agree with what Prf Sachs said.
Jeffrey Sachs - as 007 - working to save the world - PROPS and LUV - when the World's Most Sensible Guy (and brightest) - with sound historic and academic understanding goes full backbone - I listen. Thanks for the huevos, amigo !" You Rock, Hugely !!!
Concise and on point Prof. We agree with you 1000000000%.
Richard Quest has nothing to say apart from pleasing his bosses who have failed and cause wars in the world.
Shame on main corporate media cheerleaders for all the wars USA started for self interests 🤨
You don't even understand the point of a journalist pushing back. Literally their job. But how could you when you think CGTN and the like is actual news media 🙄
Wish there were more wise person like professor Sachs in the US and the world.
True talk, Let keep deceiving ourselves by suffering and smiling.Table has turned.
Kudos to Prof. Sachs!👍
Go professor Sachs! One of precious few scholars in the Western world with the courage and integrity to insist on speaking the truth!
Along with Prof Mearsheirmer, and the late prof: Stephen Cohen too.
Love you! CNN should start putting light on addressing Julian Assange case. Crime against humanity depriving us of his bravery!!!
I think Prof Sachs must be invited in the whole Western Mainstream Media to explain this very important truth. Hope the algorithms won't be worked against him.
Thank you prof. Sachs
Good we have this scholar tell the truth and shut the CNN interviewer up with his rude interruptions.
I agree with the professor. United States screw this up.
always they do.
Thank u Prof Sachs..🙏👍💪❤️
Jeffrey is a TRUE HERO!! BRAVO!!
❤️🙏🤝👏👍
A few home truths well said. People are starting to wake up
Maybe a few are starting to wake up...but trust me some are still on deep sleep!

Well said Jeff!
Prof. Sachs, hats off! Always appreciate your insights into the root cause and truth of an issue. Mainstream media and propaganda cannot fool you.
Thank you prof Sachs!!!!
Jeffrey Sachs has earned my respect! Nice interview!
If people learn to look things from other people's point of view, and treat other people the way he/she want to be treated, the world would have less troubles. If from the start Ukraine can be made to be a neutral country backed and guaranteed by both Russia and Western powers, the Ukrainian would not have to suffer as they are now, and the world would have experience less problems as it does now.
I am thankful for this professor, honesty it's very hard to come by in this world. Germany, France, Italy and others are feeling the pinch but can step up and say this is all wrong. Let Putin bring them hell....
✊🏾 Prof. Sachs, power to you! Down with liars like Quest!
We lost as soon as military interests trumped business and diplomacy. By "we" I mean everyone on the planet.
Sach is very correct. Admit it. Damn !!!!
J Sachs is absolutely right. For those who are sympathetic with the Ukraine rights, they shouldn't forget Cuba rights over Guantanamo, Syria over its oil fields, Yemen over foreign invasion to name a few. But many will turn a blind eye, sadly.
Jeffrey Sachs is the true American hero!
Salute to prof sachs. He always tell the truth 👏.
♥️✌️
Free Julian Assange!!! How about it CNN??????✌️
The people in the administration were supposed to be strategic thinkers, not some kindergarten children keep shouting, "I did nothing wrong", "we should be allowed to do this" or "he started it." The policy towards Russia was a disaster.
The war ends when Russia decides to end it, either by leaving a landlocked Ukraine as a buffer, or by taking it all. NATO (read the US) has LOST not only the military war but also the economic war. The US should acknowledge this reality and work to build a lasting peace (wishful thinking).
Professor Sachs has my outmost respect for his integrity, honesty, and courage!
what a brave man telling the whole truth as it is
Excellent interview guest.
"Security has to be security for all" -Mijael Gorbachev. Three decades have passed and its full real meaning has still not been understood by the USA.
I don't care what Jeffrey Sachs'political views are , he's a great reference to real events rather than western propaganda .
This is exactly how this war started. Hopefully the history books will document the US/UK's roles in this tragic war.
History has is documented well. Even though US&UK spread their hate and propaganda, they can’t cover up the truth.
Professor Sachs is the wisest and one of the voices of reason in the US. He should be listened to. A man of great humanity and integrity
I stopped watching CNN because of their biased perspective on global matters but the fact that Professor Sachs was talking made me watch this video. Once again, Prof. Sachs lands each point of discussion on a pin head. I wish world leaders would listen to him.
So glad to see Prof Jeff Sachs on CNN. Good job Richard for inviting him, despite of all the disagreements.
Kudos, Professor.
