For O negative, It's always better to know someone from family or friends list who are also O negative, because of it being a rare blood type and in case of emergency requirement it will come handy.
Yeah, Negative rhesus blood need to be listed in Blood donations hospital because they need each other to survive in-case they need the same rhesus.

Not sure who's told you this but O neg isn't that rare. The only rare groups are where certain antigens are not present as with R null or Ro. These are the groups most in demand and where issues of finding donors becomes a problem..

You are resistant to any blood type bro. 😮 There have been cases of death due to wrong transfusion but you need not worry as you can take all blood. 😊

Before I became chronically ill in my 20s and needed medication I used to be constantly begged to donate my O- blood because it's always in short supply and desperately needed in emergency situations.
I'm really appreciate of my kind of blood . But it's sad that other kinds of blood cannot help O- 😭😭

@@Aequitas_RJ I've seen the world's O- population expressed between 9-13%. To put that in perspective, it's around 800 million. Compare that with people who have sub group R null where the current total is around 6 with only a couple capable of donation and you can see what constitutes rare. If we take the O-fig around 10% of the world's population, that isn't really rare, is it? I'm AB+ and my wife is A+ and our daughter is A- which is 7% of the world's population, so not rare but a universal platelet donor. AB+ blood is the universal plasma donor but only men with the group can donate plasma. AB+ plasma is as much in demand as O- blood for special applications, but there is little to no chance of ever making the demand. Only a few special blood types that extend beyond the ABO Rh groupings are rare. Bombay blood and Ro donors are examples...All blood groups are in demand in hospitals and few are rare. AB+ is an unusal group, less than 3% but demand for red blood cells is low, so no flashing, blue light donations required. The point is that nothing much is rare or special and that everyone who can should be a donor...

I don't know my blood type,, but I hope I will become O-... I know I will not get this blood at my worst time but the greatest thing will be that I can donate it when someone badly needed it... Just imagine if a Doctor or Nurse or Officer or someone's baby or Mother or Father accidentally needed this blood... I am not as valuable as them..😢

AB+, same as me. We are also universal plasma donors which are equally important in many ways.. as plasma is used in many crucial medical procedures...

..around 2.5 - 3% of the world is AB+, but you can receive blood from all other groups and can donate plasma to all other groups...as long as you are a man. AB+ females cannot donate plasma as that can pass certain harmful antibodies, especially if they have given birth to children.
