The CTF badlands are actually really cool! The outside area seems emphasis on vertically alot,but the bases and some parts around the bridge and spirals feel very chokey and spammable

Blu has industrial buildings while Red have wooden structures. It's gonna be cool if you also show the red team's side too if there's much differences and changes than the Blu side.
God I am so glad you are going over the history of these maps becuase I never knew badlands changed so much. Personally I would love if a pre teamfortress or even classic ctf badlands was in tf2 as I like how much variety there is in the height of the map which makes it feel really big and with many ways to enter the buildings. It's one of the reasons I like 2fort, you can fight at mid but you can also do stuff in sewers and the teams bases are so big you spend a lot of itme in them and I think you could have fun messing around on these original versions of the map with 24 people on them.
Have tried the 2006 Badlands map on a community server in TF2. People struggled running it with frequent timed out crashes. I would guess that performance on lower hardware, and maybe even consoles, was part of why it was scrapped.
It's more likely Valve scrapped the map around the same time they dropped grenades. The map's verticality makes traversal a big challenge for most classes, and navigating the original in TFC depended heavily on things like conc jumping. From a performance standpoint Valve definitely could have made it work. Badlands 2006 is just poorly made.
Today I visited your server without map restrictions and I'm going to say that is very interesting how Pier was designed. Now about this video I never imagined Badlands as a CTF map lol. #SAVETF2
I remember 2015 before the new year. It was alerady holidays and I was playing tfc while my sister was watching my gameplay. I was eating chocolate and loling from the fact that snipers could launch his teammates with the sniper rifle on this map.
Someone port TFC's Badlands to TF2's workshop using the game logic and item placements from the Pre-Fortress 2 Badlands and a few item placements from TF2's map.
I prefer TFC badlands but thats all I played on. I only started playing TF2 this week. Not a fan of the latest version - the pre version looks great though!
Quick question, in the background tf2 gameplay the other players have the names of the practice bots, but have different weapons, are they the practice bots or are they players? And if they’re the bots how did you give them different weapons?

I also wish they kept "the hunted" gamemode, the medics ability to infect enemies and also bring back the map Rock2!!

TFC badlands maybe looks kind of bland but allowed for a lot of freedom of play moving around different routes trying to get in or out of the base. I was honestly disappointed with TF2's take on badlands as it felt very restrictive and is another linear map. I suppose that decision has a lot to do with moving from a ctf style to a control point style map.
the badlands we could have got would have been amazing. ive never liked modern badlands and always hated playing on it, its too small and bland imo, its like it has the 3 same colors throughout the entire map too.

They are bots using custom weapons from the custom weapons/randomizer plugin. This gameplay is from my open maps server.

As far as I know, pre-fortress attempts to recreate scrapped Valve versions, so it should resemble what earlier builds of these maps looked like
