The Best Goaltender from the 1999 NHL Entry Draft who was drafted in the 5th Round 138th overall by the Buffalo Sabres from the Michigan State University Spartans of the NCAA. Ryan Miller
Thanks for the upload, I preemptively thank you as I'm starting to rewatch. Despite the poor draft crop, I have fond memories since 1998-99 was the first time I had fast internet and could keep tabs on prospects the entire year. Also amusing note with Oleg Tverdovsky being traded back to Anaheim at the 1999 Draft, he had just sold his Anaheim house a few months beforehand (he had been part of the 1996 trade for Teemu Selanne).
“Stefan has had 3 bad concussions, his medical records haven’t been released, and he and his agent refuse to talk about it” Waddell- ‘SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!’
31:45 It was actually *94 goals (73 in the regular season + 21 in the playoffs) then he had 4 more goals in that seasons Memorial Cup, so his total for 1998-99 was 98 goals. 34:05 omg, the leading scorer for NYR for 10-15 years, he played exactly 0 games for NYR
The Thrashers GM could have altered his franchise if he did the following: “Screw you Brian Burke the Atlanta Thrashers are drafting Henrik Sedin as the first overall pick in the 1999 entry draft.”
Insane that Atlanta didn't heed the alarm bells - the only reason a player wouldn't want his medical records disclosed, is because they don't want teams to see that his brain is mush
I wonder if the sedin twins knew at that point after the trade and before the drafts first overall pick that they were going to be playing on the same team?
They knew the night before - the Canucks already had a deal done with Chicago, but didn't announce it until they had confirmation from Atlanta that they had the 2nd pick.

15:55 Bettman begins listing off the trades to get the twins
39:17 👌
The drafting of Patrick Stephen epitomized the franchise’s entire existence
You americanized his name my friend
So wild seeing how bigger guys where in the 90s supposed to now when players barley touching 185 lbs
Oh wow, I’ve been looking for this for years. Bravo 👏
Best all around player in this draft was #210 ... Zetterberg!
sedin pick starts at 23:52!
The Rangers trade 2 players, a 1st and a 3rd for a guy who plays 78 career games and none of them are with the Rangers.
Such high hopes for Stephan and the Thrashers...if only they knew lol

Savard for lundmark and brendl my god. What an awful day in rangers history
Best Trade in Decades losing McCabe I like also pay High prices to get the twins
Did Stefan's agent compare him to gretzky?
The interview with Rich Winter, Stefan's agent was cringeworthy.

Is Dave Ryan Tim Ryan's son?
panthers and rangers did not use 99 on their jerseys
This is 1999 and 2001 ???
seems like it
Weisbrod truly turned every franchise he touched into crap. Look at him at 18:03 with the Thrashers.... everyone know how they turned out.
Fucking him and Benning, I don't understand how he lasted so long.
Had they played for an American team, they'd have cup rings. Almost any American team.
what does it matter if it's an American team or Canadian team?
@@videogamenoob100 Because Canadian teams don't win Cups :)
@@JHockeyFan Hadn't won since 93
