Omg huge thanks for this! This was the only tutorial I could understand. I follow your instructions and now I can read my books comfortably!!!! Thanks so much
huge thanks Erika, I love you, may the gods bless you, every time I did a conversion on calibre it was a mess of a result , now with your advises I am sure I can have cleaner results in my epub files .
If you watch the Calibre demo video on the Calibre website homepage, you will hear the creator of Calibre, Kovid Goyal, pronounce it as KA-luh-bur. Just saying... Thanks, for the vid!
Erika, Thanks for the help converting a PDF to E-Pub. I didn't know how to remove headers and footers except the hard way :( By-the-way, according to kovid, the pronunciation for Calibre is the same as the caliber of a gun. Don't let the "re" at the end throw you, that's just our British heritage coming out. It's still pronounced the same as "er". Like fibre optics.
In all videos that I've seen on CZcams, you're the only one that gives that trick. Now, when converting my book from pfd to Mobi, the image of the cover is duplicated, the footers, headers and the sentences are breaken off. What should I do?
Thank you for the video. I tried it but it gets some of the titles messy. I mean the chapter titles are like on 2 lines: the first line is fine but the second line is written much bigger than the first line.
Very inciteful. Any chance of making a video of how to go from epub to pdf and have titles and page numbers in the correct places. Students often need to reference a comment and need exact page numbers which epub do not position correctly.
Okay, so one has already created the original in say openoffice writer or word, etc, and then converted it (exported) to pdf and the pdf faithfully reflects the original, which is what you want, right? This tutorial seems to be saying how you go about removing some of the original pdf formatting for conversion to epub, etc. But one doesn't want to remove the formatting! We want consistency from original to pdf to epub/mobi, etc.
I want to change the color of all instances of gray fonts in a book, barely visible. The grey color is too light; I want to make it brown or dark brown but how to edit it? There is a code in those instances I checked from the editor. How to do this? I am not a programmer, so I am unaware of these things. Thanks
this program is a nightmare, i'm trying to bulk convert CBR to PDF but it turns the to black and white in comics, when you choose bulk that option has disappeared, ridiculous!!!!!
Oh, looks complicating .. Do you have any suggestions who can do this and what is the fee? I have several photos and it will be just not in my capability
1) You needn't explain it out loud every time you do a book. That will shave about 8.5 minutes off each book you convert. 2) 10000 books? If you can afford a library like that, you can afford to hire a kid to do the Calibre work for you.
I found 10000 videos on how to do this wrong, and now you represent my Messiah. Thanks nerd, great work.
Great tutorial - thanks!
Calibre is such a powerful tool.

Hey,
Thanks loads for the help. I thought I was stuck with the stupid formatting as a cost for the sin of using free books for the kindle.
If you watch the Calibre demo video on the Calibre website homepage, you will hear the creator of Calibre, Kovid Goyal, pronounce it as KA-luh-bur. Just saying... Thanks, for the vid!

How do you delete the page breaks in the pdf when converting to epub? Great video!
Yes thank you!
Thank you! What to do if the header has a question mark? Test can't pick up the header if it includes a question mark.
nice!!

What should I do?
You can also easily get rid of excess paragraph spacing.
I haven't used calibre before, but wouldn't it be nicer if you could something like (reclamation/the dominion novel)+ ?
Thank you for the video. I tried it but it gets some of the titles messy.
I mean the chapter titles are like on 2 lines: the first line is fine but the second line is written much bigger than the first line.
If you'd paste your expression here it would be a big time saver for many others.
Thank you for the video, could you please tell me how to change PDF to epub without pages turning to black.
How can you manually remove ? I have several and they are not unique enough to show up in a search.

this program is a nightmare, i'm trying to bulk convert CBR to PDF but it turns the to black and white in comics, when you choose bulk that option has disappeared, ridiculous!!!!!
When I try to convert an epub to pdf, the font becomes too large, so please provide me with a solution.
It's not saving ðe phonetic guides. What do I do?
Oh, looks complicating .. Do you have any suggestions who can do this and what is the fee? I have several photos and it will be just not in my capability
OMG 10 minutes for one book. I have like 10000 books...
1) You needn't explain it out loud every time you do a book. That will shave about 8.5 minutes off each book you convert.
2) 10000 books? If you can afford a library like that, you can afford to hire a kid to do the Calibre work for you.
You need to learn how to pronounce "Calibre"
Actually, I like this pronunciation. It accentuates the "book" part of Calibre
Thanks so much. It was really helpful.
