- First, thank you to Tim Ferriss for inspiring this story. This is the most powerful video I've ever made, and it exists because Tim gave me the courage to tell it.

In a recent podcast episode (The Tim Ferriss Show, "My Healing Journey After Childhood Abuse"), Tim opened up about his childhood trauma. This video illustrates the way that episode reached me.
I hope this video can accomplish two things. One, express why your story is important, and why sharing your story is important. And two, show that you are never alone - no matter how alone you may feel.
I'm not yet ready to open up about my specific series of events, so this video is really like a "podcast react" of sorts. But, you can probably figure it out.

Thank you for making this Ari -- I think we all need to hear this. Trauma can affect us at any age, time, or place, but it continues to be such a taboo that we don't talk about. However, it's when we open ourselves up and allow that vulnerability that we can begin to heal and begin to recover. I really admire and applaud you for sharing this with us as I know it definitely wasn't easy, but you are not alone and we are definitely here for you too. No matter how perfect someone's life may seem online, everyone has a story and it's up to them if they want to share it. So I sit here again, and thank you for sharing yours :)

It is so true. You hit the nail on the head. Everyone has a story. I try to do my best not to judge other actions until I understand where they're coming from. I'm not perfect with that but I realize just because I would do something that doesn't mean that others would too. It's a tough pill to swallow but it gives you such a bigger understanding of life.
It's so incredible when you feel so connected to someone you've never met, haha.

Such a powerful and vulnerable video. When we are suddenly and unexpectedly triggered, we feel those emotions and memories deeply. When the trigger is the basis of someone else's pain, someone else's experience that makes you say "I can't believe they had to go through that" it heightens the emotional response. Not easy stuff, so I appreciate you sharing your reaction.

Ari. We never really know what people are going through, been through or will yet to go through. We are all BEAUTIFUL people and though this video was your hardest to tell, it resonates with us all in big and small ways if not of relevance, but as a reminder to love a little more. It challenges us to make a good hard look at ourselves and know that as you said it; we all have stories to tell and until we release it, it will continue to burn heavy. This is how I have exp this video. Thank you.
Running to me has been this exact exp you have shared. Though we have different stories and different challenges / or past challenges. Running has a power and an ability to help us feel better, grow stronger and get to know us a little more and dig deeper and bring things to surface. It has been so important to be able to work through these things while running.

You're right, this is a very powerful video Ari. And thank you for being vulnerable and sharing this part of you with us. There is a lot of misinformation on trauma. Everything also thinks it has to be these big, crazy events that have to be trauma but that's actually not true. I think we've all experienced trauma that isn't dealt with which is why so many of us are so anxious. Holding onto emotions that we can't even explain...wondering why we have certain relationships with our family or why certain things bring us so much fear. By talking about it and by letting the brain process it, that trauma doesn't have the power to control us anymore. Thanks for sharing your story.

I have been thinking about this for like few months! Sometimes what we go through as a child , stays with us forever ! Sometimes one event can ruin our mental peace!

This is something that is never mentioned, I honestly have started looking recently at my life. It is crazy how we go through things as kids or even 2 years ago and you start noticing it is effecting you. Wow, this was great. You’re changing lives, keep it up.
