Story of My Life, which was released in 1990, is an awesome fucking song. So many of us can relate to it. It is timeless. I quit (was expelled) from high school the day that I turned 17 years old. They sent a letter in the mail, which I intercepted. There were times when I applied for a job everywhere, but could not get hired anywhere. I just did not fit what they were looking for. Life goes by so fast. And, you only want to do what you think is right. Close your eyes and it's past.
It's amazing how this song has influenced the same demographic (17-23) for the last 20 years.

Was 15 when this came out and was my first time hearing SD. I was big into punk like misfits and Sex Pistols and such, so when I heard this I was like wtf?!? So fell in love with a whole new sound and type of punk. Mike Ness writes, plays, and sings with some much heart.
Regardless of where people heard the song, the band is still getting publicity and therefore interest.

I was 28 when this album came out from my It was a shock as Mommy’s Little Monster was issued independently and this their namesake album was issued on a major label. Punk rock on a major label, who would have thought? Loved the refinements and the exposure they got, but I also love the fact they later went independent and focused on being a touring band. The pressure of a commercial commitment can force one to turn out so so music, while staying independent has allowed Mike Ness to flourish.

After over 12 years later since my high school years this song only makes more sense especially when hearing it once in a good while late night stoping by my old high school remembering the good and the bad times too just for the brief time machine of it.
