Using she's butter instead of gel, genius. Because the gel makes my hair so itchy 😂 thank you. You did so good
Omg i thought it was jst me it makes my hair soo itchy lol
Girl💯💯💯 i have low porosity hair, gel makes its drier and causes itching
Many braiders need to watch this. Most braiders I’ve used get mad when I tell them I don’t want the product used and they will say “they have to” crazy because back in the day I was getting my hair braided without all that product.
Back in the day we was using jam
@@WonderfulCoastalBeach-tm8gous these new braiding gels worse than Jam? Or is it the same ?
@@millzdealsit provides the same purpose, just a different texture.
Yes in the 90’s we used grease & in the early 2000’s it was hair lotion. This jam/gel thing is new.
You look fresh from the braids shop too, you did all of that boop!
Thank you so much
It takes determination and patience to do braids yourself 16:51
Yes thank you for the time stamps
I was looking for a knotless tutorial that doesn't use gel. Your braids came out so cute.
Thank you 🫶🏽
Me too I feel like gel makes my hair too greasy and harder to grip I like the no gel look looks cleaner to me
Thank you for the Shea butter tip. And letting me realize I'm not patience that's why the back of my head look like a hot wheel track 😂
😂😂😂 hot wheel track took me out 😭
Your teaching method is great. Don’t be concerned about your vocabulary, there’s nothing wrong with it. People appreciate you just the way you are. Read your comments.❤
You are so right ! Thank you 😊
You gave me the cheerleading and tips I needed to tackle braiding my own hair! Gurl, the parting almost took me out, but that was my only task day 1. I broke it up into sections and tackled a section everyday until I finished them this morning. It took me an entire week but I did it for the very first time! Knotless, waist-length braids and the first time doing extensions! Thank you Ebony! This video was so VERY helpful! 😊
Omg i would love to see !!! Send pics to my ig the.ebonyjay 😊😊😊
Best tutorial so far because it shows how this won’t be easy! You not speeding up the parting set realistic expectations and now I am ready to do my own. This helps a lot as an aspiring gym rat cause I need these braids and this will save me money. Thank you!
Period! You got this
my old braider never used gel. it isnt needed.
Ikr, we never used gel growing up on our braids.
Used that grease tho
And what about using edges control for braiding? Is it nesscery?😮 Will it help with ovoiding frizzing early??
Avoiding**
It’s optional everyone is different
I love the fact you used shea butter only! Can we say soft neat healthy hair! With no residue.
Literally and taking it out didn’t leave my hair in clumps
This just motivated me to do small on myself, THANK YOU 😭! I do my hair my self and just don’t ever feel like taking 3 days to do my hair
I completely understand lol it’s worth it
Motivation video…😊
Oh lord, here we go 😔 3 day process begins NOW. But I do save money. You did great AGAIN 🎉
You got this !!!
You’re so right about the patience thing bc even tho I have 2 mirrors I just be like f it lol & leave it crooked
Girl yes, I really dont like the braiding gel because it holds so much lint at the base of the braids, especially around the perimeter. I would rather use a little oil or shea butter like you did. In mid May through early June I wore crochet braids. I didnt use any braiding gel on the base braids and my hair was nice an pliable upon the take down. I wore the style for 5 weeks and I couldve gone another 3 weeks but I was tired of the style. Bravo for repping the non braiding gel crew!!!
Definitely gonna try this with my Autumn braids and crochets.
This is the best DIY knotless braids i have seen. Gurl you did a good job!!!!!!!!!
Really !!! Thank you girl 😭🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
I’ve been doing my own box braids for almost two years now, but I’ve always done them really small (about 190-220 on my head😅) because I know the bigger the braids, the more noticeable your parts and each individual braid is. I usually start smedium, but then it all falls apart when I go towards the front of my head and I just have a huge urge to make them small. Yours are so neat and I’m definitely gonna use this parting technique for when I do my own next month😩.
This is a great video! I never know how to part the back right so there's not an awkward gap. Jealous of that 3 way mirror, lol
So bomb, I’m about to do mines tomorrow, thank you for sharing ❤
Been almost two years since going all natural and doing my own hair as well as starting to braid my own hair so thank you for sharing ❤
She have beautiful hair of her own.
U did a good job!!! I always do my own hair and I do smedium. But I want small!! So seeing this encourages me to do small!! Lol
Bomb!! ❤ I just moved to Houston and I definitely want to book with you soon!! I love your work!
🤞🏽🙌🏽🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you 😊
I had a hard time doing feedins on myself it just felt so awkward. Watching your video gives me the confidence to try again and I definitely need to invest in that 3 way mirror.
When I tell you you’re amazing! Only video I came across to show me how to add the hair to the braid thank you
Thank you 😊. I try my best with the angles
omg finally someone who doesn't slap on pounds of gel❤❤❤❤❤❤
You did that Sis!👏🏾 I love your hair!❤ I really appreciate the way you showed the close ups of you feeding in the hair! I planning to do my hair. I bought the hair already and l have the shea butter. I am just waiting for my 3 way mirror from Amazon. I am going to be using your video for reference! I hope my hair comes out as bomb as yours did!🤗 Thanks for sharing!❤
Omgggg make sure to send me pics !!! To my ig the.ebonyjay I’d love to seee
🔥🔥🔥 these came out sooo bomb. Nice and neat
Thanks 😊
They came out so pretty! And i know your natural hair loving that shea butter. Def going to try using shea butter or something similar for ny next set ☺️☺️
Got that Rapunzel hair. But the braids do look beautiful love it 👌❤
Thank you so much 😊
@@The.EbonyJay No problem😉
Parting defo needs patience, I hate doing it but happy when my hair looks good when im done
You did that, great job!😮
I sincerely appreciate your time and effort to make this video. i've learned a ton from you!! and by the way.. You are amazing doing your own braids!!
Thank u ! Thank you for watching
I wanna learn how to braid so bad...uugghh
Talent indeed doing all That sectioning yourself ❤
The 3 way mirror really does help! Ive struggled to find places to put it tho. Dont nobody wanna be standing up the entire time😫😂🤦🏽♀️ where do have yours hanging at?
It’s hanging on a full length mirror . One of those cheap ones
@@The.EbonyJay okay cool I have 2 of those thanks boo!!❤ imma try that Shea butter method out too!!
Yes ma’am
Try to prepare one day and than sit down for the braiding the next
😊
I still have to get used to the mirror. But it is mad helpful
Ok good 😊
1:00 Shout outs to Brotha Tony G 😘!
this is what i doo it keeps my hair super moisturized and smoothed ou
Definitely did your thing with that parting! 🔥🔥
Thank you
These look so neat and small like I wish I done mine. I had started just blow-dry my hair and decided on thicker parts😂
Try Murray’s pomade just a little on the ends gets all ur flyaways tucked
I had this idea 😮 glad u did it too ❤❤❤❤
I've been looking for an alternative to use for raids instead of gels. I'm going to try this❤
I will try this not only because it's cheaper than the most recommended gels but also because it likely won't flake up.
& it didn’t at all !!
You did your thing sis!
Thank you
Absolutely gorgeous braids
yessss so talented 🔥
Thanks boo
Thanks. So helpful ❤
Best tutorial ever❤
Thank you 😊
Ayyyyyyyeeeee that tony gaskins in the background!!! It’s reallllly realll!

You snapped 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you 😊
Que bellas, espero tener esa paciencia 😢 quiero hacérmelas así
I’ve tried this years ago and it came out so ugly but you make me wanna try it again lol😅
Yes try it again it’s a new year
You did a great job!!! I am trying to learn how to add hair..
You did great 🩷
I don't use gel to get neat braids. It's not healthy on my hair and just causes itchiness after day 2. Hair grease and a hair lotion is it! My braids last for 6-8wks and look good to me.
Yeassss just motivated me to do my own braids thank you
No problem
The mirror is very convenient 1:52
I’m telling you !
I ran outta gel!! Thank you! Y did I have to go to CZcams for dis tho 😂😂😂
1:00 yess dthats me right now😅😂 alreadyyy
Hey! How many packs of hair did you use?
2 but 3 incase !
I love this so much, it would be nice if I can do this without gel but the way my 4 c thick hair set up 😢😢😢
I’m going to try and do my own hair tomorrow
how many packs did you use???
Will not using gel work for french curl braids as well? I'm planning on doing my own hair in a few days and I absolutely hate gel, I have not one good experience with it😂
SCALP 😂❤❤❤ you did that
Thanks babe
thank you for this! my hair always felt sticky and flaky whenever i used gel, but im going to try it with no gel and some shea butter this time!
About how many braids did you have ?
Hello beautiful braids , by the way should all Feed in braids be the same size?
We never did back in my days
But my daughter 15 loves it
I’m sitting here like she favor my cousin ebony 😂😂 then look down and your name is ebony 😂😂😂
Okayyy fye braids sis!!! 🫶🏾🔥Also, I peeped you listening to wise words from Uncle Tony Gaskins
Yes love mr Tony lol 😂
they look good, and long , might take me a week but i wanna try
I wish I could try too.. but ☺️🥰
love me some Tony Gaskins
Shes said "I'm. Tired already" . Lol I would be too after blowing out all that hair lol
You did a great job
Thank you 😊
Niceeeeee Small Knotless Braids 1:52
3 way mirror 👏🏾
Doing mines 2 you are not alone
How many packs of braid u use😊
I got the three way mirror but haven't used it yet
I can’t do knotless on my own head for the life of me so I do the other braids and anytime I have more than one day off I don’t braid all in one day unless I have to. My only thing is I get very impatient when I’m parting my own hair 😩😩😩
I love Tony!!! 👏🏾🔥
Same 🫶🏽
U did a good job
Pls where did you get the mirror.
Description box 📦
Beautiful ❤️
Thank you for this much needed tutorial on how to do small knotless, and how much hair to feed in. I only have one question, how many packs did you use??? please
2 and a half really
@@The.EbonyJay 2 bundles of 1 packs or 2 packs of 3 bundles pls❤?
I cut my babyhairs this one time!! That was a huge mistake... Now i just braid all my hair in and whatevr baby hairs naturally are there I use....Those cut babyhairs had me looking homeless when they werent sleek
Lol 😂 awww man
Lord have mercy 🥺 14:08
Your braids are pretty
Thank you 😊
What hair type are you Sis?.. Your real hair looks beautiful ❤
Phenomenal 19:36
I wish you were in Charlotte lol … you do mine and I do yours
What’s your hair page?
Hello, You are gorgeous and your hair is beautiful ❤. I hope you are doing well.
Thank you 😊
@@The.EbonyJay Your Welcome
Ok.. you can do mine now 😂
I saw your tiktok your also a hairstylist. How can you ask a Braider to not use any gel or edge control on your small knotless braids? Without her getting offended? Also do you think it last longer without it?
The gel gives a cleaner look but it can clog and irritate your scalp causing it to itch. Also some gels leave a white residue. You can probably just ask the stylist if they’re able to braid your hair without gel.
@@Tiffy1990 thank you love
@@Tiffy1990 I got my hair done a week ago and ask if she could just use Shea butter
How many pieces of hair did you add to each braid?
There is no set amount
