- Very few Skimboarders have ridden The Wedge better than John Weber. I have only seen one or two waves ridden on a skimboard that are better than this one. John Weber is an absolute beast when it comes to riding this wave. Kai Thompson set his personal record for best skimboard rides at wedge. The Kid absolutely charges for an 11yr old. Stoked to see what he will do in the near future.

i’ve been getting into skimboarding but when i try to get out to a wave i sink right away
i’m using a 50 dollar walmart foam board and i don’t want to drop 200 dollars on a nice board is there something i’m missing with my board on or do i NEED to get a new one

edit: the reason i don’t want to drop 200 on a board is bc i live in minnesota and i’ll only use it like 10 days every year and a half
You might need to get more comfortable with running faster and then jumping on the board. Where are there waves in Minnesota? on the great lakes?
