Facts. I been saying this since they came out with the Talon and Pioneer
they totally succeed in disapointing everyone i mean i didnt expected honda to bring a new twin 850 or 1000 japanese made quad on the market but it would have been so nice, suzuki yamaha and kawasaki (even tought kawa is a 750 twin) would have been forced to come with something to compete the next years but no we get some stupid worthless shit instead ... great i wonder if they even study the market and what people wantsometime

@biged420 the sport quad market isn't dead. Yamaha is just the only ones selling them. The trx 250 sells like crazy.
@@tbone198786 Yes Yamaha still sells them and yes Honda still has the little 250 but look at the sales numbers of these machines vs SXS and sport utility machines, the numbers Arnt there for Honda to get back into making a 400 or 450 sport quad let alone try and take the market back from Yamaha after they they already handed it to them

I was hoping they would get rid of the rincon and do like canam did and come out with a new design 650/700 with footshift optional with difflok minus the belt. Guess we'll wait another 10 years.
Since they took away the Rincon name, maybe that means they will bring it back as something bigger?

I wish the Honda would make a too cylinder making at least 60 horsepower but when I first saw it I thought well that actually doesn't look too bad but then I found out it still doesn't have power steering and everything else is also the same so it's still not making any more power and I was kind of mad

I wonder if they changed the gearing. My rincon is a totally different machine with a BR gear reduction, but i wouldnt buy a new one with out some major updates.
Ive owned a lot of the big bore atvs new 00-06 and flipped a bunch on the side from 2011-2015. Imo hondas were pretty crappy. They never pulled much were always 3 wheel drive lacked suspension brakes and power. I had a rincon and it was pretty useless except for trail riding and still lacked a lot in that area. I broke the frame on it and blew the trans. I had a rubicon it was nice ans the gears were low but it would pull as much as the 325 polaris and not even close to a 500 sportsman. I would say the 350 rancher and 300 fourtrax were my favorites just because they were so small the 300 espically.
350 rancher is literally the worst 4 wheeler Honda ever built. 300 is built for a child, can’t toat 28s stock, and has a junk rear end
I love the late 90s and early 2000s Hondas. Recons, ranchers, foreman’s, fourtrax 300.
Agree 100% with everything you said. I got so say that if Honda doesn’t up the ante and soon, they’ll be phased out soon by the likes of cfmoto…lol. I’m getting first hand experience with cfmoto at work and I hate to admit it but China is doing it better then Honda right now😤 if Yamaha don’t revamp the grizzly soon they’ll be in the same boat. Like wise I can’t even count the number of pioneer 500’s I’ve sold for Honda due to my channel but except the the little Honda XR 150 bike I just bought as a commuter, I’m done with Honda!

@@Clamjammer I’m super impressed with them! The new Gen 3’s haven’t been around long enough to speak of longevity but they are surprisingly well built and have great fit and finish. Best bang for buck machine you can buy period! I’ll be getting to do a review of the new Gen 3 1000 very soon!
I’ve owned all Japanese brands(they are amazing) got my cfmoto 600 2 years ago and has incredibly reliable.
Your videos helped convince me to buy a pioneer 520 last year 👍🏻

Damn! Our entire family love Hondas because of their reliability toughness and simplicity. I need a quad for mixed use in our farm (and some trail/gravel road riding) so I’ve been somewhat waiting to see what Honda would put out per the rumors. Was very stoked when I heard they were coming out with a big bore and knew about the existing Rincon but This is disappointing considering I had hoped they produce a big bore (big single/twin engine) style utility atv like the Polaris sportsman 850 or 1000 with a decent suspension that rides better (I am a Hoonigan after all 😂). I get it that there are BIG differences between team red and Polaris but at that price point, and with current incentives and shopping hard, you’re not too far $$ from a new big bore Polaris where you arguably get more ATV for your money (engine, suspension, ride quality, features etc) which really has me thinking about trying a big bore Po po. Hell, the most expensive Honda atv has less suspension travel than their cheaper models… not to mention the gearing issues you mention and the power output mentioned in the comments. If true, Why in the hell would the neuter the engine that much - I just don’t understand. I’d probably be “ok” with a 520 rubicon eps/deluxe but would regret not trying a big bore quad at this point. Honda may have pushed me away with this move.
This rincon rebrand is what happens when marketing and (primarily) accounting are driving the corporate ship. Turn the engineers loose Honda!

Honda hasn't hit it out of the park since the release of the 420 Rancher, that was the last big quantum leap of anything they've done. The 520 models aren't any more impressive than the 475's. Honda really screwed up when they decided to push the Hondamatic, then this 3 speed abomination. There's no innovation for ATV's anymore and there's not going to be any for another 20 years.
I definitely be interested to get my hands on one of those mainly for the rear plastics lol it would be nice to have two lights on Rubicon instead of the one single light
Plastics are made to work and fit on the rincon frame/chassis so I doubt it’d be as simple as just bolting them on to a Rubicon

The dealer close to me pretends rincons are not made anymore. They don’t sell.
I’d be ok with the 3 speed if it had a low range but it’s geared so high as is it sucks on the trails I ride and I’m not doing extreme mud or anything.
Kawasaki has been playing the same game as Honda for years. They keep acting like they are listening and they tease people at trade shows ect. They claimed 2 years ago a whole new brute was coming out but they just did the same thing as the previous Brute/prairie. They slapped different plastics on the same crap they have had since the brute force 650i and 750i Came out.
I'd love to see Honda make a big bore that's got some real power tho.
i only see 2 contenders for bringing. 850 or 1000 twin, yamaha or kawasaki, because honda suzuki are still way too conservative imo

I love the shift lever for plowing snow. Its the fastest easiest shifting atv for plowing.

The biggest problem with the Rincon is it only has 3 gears, and so does this. Would it have been possible for Honda to put in its 5 speed automatic transmission?
It would have been possible but they would have had to re-engineer the entire engine and clearly they're too lazy to do anything other than face lifts
@@MudPuppyOffroad if I remember correctly they also bumped the power down in the Rincon a couple of years ago. Taking it from 38 hp to 32 hp
This should hopefully have substantially more power and make up for the lack of gears.. they could’ve done a lot better but I think it is a step in the right direction. A very small step but at least we have somthing.

On dirt wheels they showed a patent for a Yamaha Sport utility, likely a 1000, I don’t understand why Honda can’t update any of their machines. All the manufacturers are improving while Honda is pretty stagnate aside from the Talon

1000% agree! Same damn thing what a shame. Things are total turds and honestly have some issues with cam chain tensioners and engine noise and grinding in and out of foreword and reverse with that gas shifter. Hunk of shit
I would like to point out that Kawasaki did basically the same think with the Brute Force this year, and Honda and Kawasaki released these models late anyone else notice this ?

21 years of production and still no diff lock, or even a low range. All they did right was make the racks bigger.
I have a 2021 Rincon and a 2022 rubicon and like the Rincon so much better way more power and faster and honestly feels better other than no diff lock which I added one after market

Honda didn't call it a licker but they done show a picture to validate the locker just the old school 2wd selector. I'm not into the Rincon and love my 2017 rubicon but we haven't had the rincon up in Canada for years

Yeah that's just incorrect. Every Rincon in Pioneer 700 can be heard bogging and seen barely turning the tires. You must be running stock tires which around here wouldn't get you out of the parking lot.

It will still sale, but is there any change to the gear ratios ? They will likely see a profit from the aesthetic changes for that model in sales over the course of a year. Remember it’s about the profits for them. If they don’t see enough profits in the sales annually, they won’t spend all the money to manufacture a completely brand new model.
Honda get the 755 motor from your trans gender Alps?. And update the suspension like the Riny.
Honda needs to get it together and make interesting things products again. Like bring back 2 strokes and sport quads.

Man for a few days before I found any details on this quad I was super excited. This just bums me out. If they just did a legit rubicon with the 700cc engine I’d be handing my 17 rubicon to my brother or mother to use and be running a wicked atv. Typical Honda.
I always forget that canadians get less machines then the US. The rincon hasnt been sold here in years. I kinda hope this "new 700" will be just so I can ride it

I find Honda in the ATV off Road world to be the laziest of them all, they have absolute Die Hard fan base yet they keep throwing up the same model for years while their fan base screams for more power. That's why I don't ride Hondas or Yamahas, Kawasaki because they are boring once you feel what Can-Am and Polaris are doing. Because of this I have switched. For decades I was a absolutely Die Hard Honda fan, Can-Am is my new. I don't care that they're not made as well once you get on one it's a different world compared to these underpowered Farm vehicles that the Japanese sell
Have you ever heard of Kawasaki or Yamaha? They're even worse as far as making meaningful updates every other decade... Lol it's actually happening with most ATV manufacturers because all the money is in side-by-sides. Fat drunk idiots feel safer in a side-by-side that has a much flatter learning curve

This isn't just a Honda problem. All the Japanese brands have put their R&D into SxS now. It's what sells. Absolutely no innovation in the ATV segment in 10 years.
