  • I have been working with Delta kayaks for a number of years. This is just a simple video with fundamental basic instructions on simple repairs to Delta kayaks. My intention is to make it easy for you to do your own repairs. I would highly suggest picking up a Delta repair kit if you own a Delta kayak. My basic philosophy is an ounce of prevention is a pound of cure. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch. I appreciate the comments and don't forget to subscribe.

Great video Mike! As a new Delta owner, i'm hoping never to need this, but glad you have this expertise to share!

Perfect timing for the video, have a small repair to do on my 12.10

I had a 3-inch crack in my Delta 12.10 on the bottom of the hull. I used JB Weld and a piece of fiberglass cloth to repair it. I kayaked 4-hours around Topaz Lake, Nevada, and had no problems today.

Hi Mike, I have a Delta 15.5 GT. Could you make a video on how to use the hull patch repair kit and the surface scratch removal and cleaner kit? Thanks and Happy Holidays. Rick.

Thanks for the info on the repair. I have a similar crack behind the cockpit of my Delta 17. Do you have info on how to obtain the preformed piece from Delta that you used for this repair.

Have you ever repaired a thigh brace? Also have a 15.5gt and cracked it. Have about a half inch of material holding on at the back end. Was thinking of cutting a strip.of abs and just coating the area in the adhesive and fiberglass. Not worried about it being pretty. Just want my boat functioning properly.

I enjoyed your Delta kayak repair video very well done.

Great info! I've got a more interesting problem on my Delta 16 though. The flexible combing section extending into the cockpit forming the left knee brace is cracked for about 90% of it's length. Will a repair with epoxy handle the flexing in that area, or am I looking at replacing the entire combing? Thanks for any help here and again, good video!!

Can you do a video replacing the handles? I feel like an idiot and I can't put my new replacement handles the same way they before. Either my handles don't retract or when they do, it is pulling the kayak by the bungee cords instead of stopping at on a knot of the normal cord from the handle.

Would this also work on a Hurricane Kayak?
