  • In this video I show the steps and procedures necessary to diagnose and replace a bad wheel hub or bad wheel bearing on a GM truck or SUV your 2014 so current. This includes Chevy Silverado‘s, suburban, Tahoe, GMC sierra, Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade vehicles. In this particular vehicle we are working on a 2014 Chevy Silverado LT 2 Wheel Dr. It is important to note when purchasing a brand new hub, that’s two wheel drive and four-wheel-drive require different part numbers. Below this paragraph you’ll find links for both part numbers so make sure to select the correct one for your application. This is a great video. Editing, content (tools/sizes and torque) and angle/lighting are well done.

    Well, that explains why NAPA wanted $200 for a new wheel bearing. It’s not just a bearing like cars used to use. It’s the whole piece out to the lug nuts along with the speed sensor. Thanks for sharing.

    thank you for the very informative video. I really appreciate it. I noticed some of your bolts are overtightened by the impact before the torque wrench.

    Would bad wheel bearings be a cause of steering wheel shaking??

    • @TheFi1thyCasual
      @TheFi1thyCasual Před 3 lety +1

      Yes

    • @NeverEnoughPyro40
      @NeverEnoughPyro40 Před rokem

      Not always, For it to cause your steering to shake you’re hot assembly would have to be on the verge of falling apart! Which means when you jack up the vehicle you would feel play! To correctly answer your question we would need to know what speed does your steering wheel start to shake and does the shaking go away at a higher speed! People really need to stop asking mechanical questions in the comment section, Perfect example this numb nuts says yes when in reality your tires could simply be out of balance! There are a number of things that could cause your steering wheel to shake all of which are much cheaper and easier for you to fix first if you can’t diagnose The problem properly! You should start by jacking up your front end and checking your Front end for play, if there is no play you should rotate your tires from front to back and see if the problem goes away!
