Rigi Hochflue 1698m - The "Alpine" Summit on Rigi Mountain (From Lauerz via Gätterli, Schwyz Alps)

- Rigi Mountain is very popular hiking destination in the Central Switzerland.
Rigi Hochflue is the "alpine" summit of the Rigi massif, proper hiking boots & some experience is needed to get here.. although various routes is leading to the summit, all of them are very well secured with chains,and ladders.
In our case, we have chosen the hiking path leading from Lauerz 457m (Lake Lauerz), via Gätterli pass. For a descend we took the other route, that took us right back to Gätterli pass, from where we continued to the the village Lauerz.
However, the view from the Hochflue is definitely worth the effort. An unbelievable 360° panoramic view leaves us breathless. =)

One of our Friends died during this hike in 2019. He got missing until June this year, when a farmer found some of his remains. His phone is still lost and i doubt we'll ever find it. Please dont do this hike if you have little experience, its far more difficult than it already looks once you are up there. I guess a little warning cant hurt anyone, and is the only thing left i can do. Stay safe
This happened on rigi hochflue? Sorry for your lost.. May he rest in peace.. I never considered this mountain as a challenge, but of course it depends on experience like you say and as well as the actual conditions.. Mountains are really unpredictable, thats why we always have to be prepared.. For anything.. Be safe out there!

safe yes, if it's not forbidden I can not say.. don't know this information.. but very likely can be done
