Red Rising! Red Rising! The whole series is * chef's kiss*. It's probably my favorite sci-fantasy series. The world-building, the characters, the scheming and the violence - it's all handled so well. The're such fast reads too due to how intense red rising is - there are barely breathers in this series. It's just one thing after another. The newest book is going to come out in July this year so I am really excited to see you get into this series! The series gets much darker and crazier in later books, I hope you'll like it. I know some readers had mixed feelings about the first book (i loved it) but it gets even better and more original from book 2 (Golden Son) onwards.

The Institute is absolutely NOT scary at all and is a great read, and is a fast read, as you've experienced already with Misery and Billy Summers. Highly recommend.

I’ve read 4 out of 5 of these and let me just say, Red Rising is literally my favorite series ever!! It’s one of the best sff out there and this is one of those series that gets better with each consecutive book. I REALLY want you read the whole series (coz as I said, it gets better with each book and book 5 is the best one in the series imo), so hopefully you like the first book enough to continue on with the rest!

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is actually amazing, I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a little bit hard to get through in the beginning but I feel like it picks up quickly. I’m pretty sure they are making a move about it too.
