I can't criticize this album at all. For me, it's just fantastic! It does not surprise me at all that Crazy Jimmy has a nice OG copy. I have one of those 180 gm. copies from around 2008. I love Welcome to the Void! 😵💫
Although it was an early one in my psych discoveries, I've never rated this as high as most. Some of the silly vocal styles & mixing could've used some help. I enjoy some of the alternate vocals/mixes heard on the NowAgain press. Nonetheless, one of those must-hears. I'll stick to my reissue till I see a moment to grab an OG. Dom covered this one too.
A top 5 psych album that im happy to have a nice reissue of. I love seeing OGs but there's no way im spending the coin any of these psych albums go for, the reissues are expensive enough as sometimes almost as hard to get where i live.
Thanks for watching and commenting! I have been collecting off and on since the 70s but sadly I have had to buy most of what I want online these days due to the lack of heat at any of my local shops. The stores I have in New England tend to get picked over but at the same time I don’t get out to shop in person enough either. I do hit the occasional record convention, yard sale and thrift shop but it’s not often enough to matter. As for my day job, I am a SR Regional Program Manager at Amazon. Can’t say it’s a fun job but it’s not horrible either.
@@Vinylfromtheundergroundappreciate the context. I’ve noticed you not only collect mostly OG’s but they’re also NM/NM. I’m a similar collector but not when it comes to some of that stuff. I have to really love it to pay more than $150 ish. Enjoying the videos.
Come on people, be honest. This album is not great. Bizarre thing is it has these pieces that are brilliant & the band is solid. The vocals, ARE HORRIBLE on some tracks, this was badly engineered. I'm not mentioning some of the lyrics & the billy goat stupidity. He wanted to be The Who or The Doors, whatever. Parts are fantastic though...it's sad actually...if they had someone else singing, it would've been a different history for the group.
I agree completely, some of them are really fantastic, hard to believe it's the same album. I listened to the whole record & it sounds like two separate albums on some songs. Who knows what was going on during the recording sessions. Thank You for this, always looking for the very obscure. 👍
One of my favorites
Another good one Jimmy. I have a Radioactive CD of this. Good album. Thanks, Chris
I do consider this a 5 star record, and love the unhinged vocals on the first track "Welcome To the Void"

I like most of the vocals on it but the void vocals really kill that track for me. LOL thanks for everything you do!!
Love this album.. can't seem to find an OG :( Didn't Dom do this Acid Archives?? now I want to do one already done. :)
The more the merrier!!

I hear ya with that. Thanks for watching and commenting
Edvard Munch. Damn, that's a heavy hitter. Curious where you buy some of these clean OG's and what you do for a living cause this is some heat.

💯 get it. Totally understand that
if there is no hype attached, i immediately remove the shrink :)
I am a big shrink on guy.
Long live the shrink!
To shrink or not to shrink. That is the question. Well I love the shrink too.
@@Vinylfromtheunderground i like buying stuff in shrink.. but immediately remove if no hype.. so much dirt on that shrink.

I agree that some of the vocals are horrible but I do love the vocal in of dreams along with a few others.
