THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE
The moon belongs to everyone
The best things in life they're free
Stars belong to everyone
They cling there for you and for me
Flowers in spring
Fhe robins that sings
Fhe sunbeams that shine
They're yours and they're mine
Love can come to everyone
Best things in life
They're free
Moon belongs to everyone
The best things in life
They're free
Stars belong to everyone
They glitter there for you and for me
They are yours and mine
Flowers in spring
The robins that sing
Sunbeams that shine
They're yours and they're mine
Love can come to everyone
Best things in life
They're free
All of the good things
Every one of the better things
The best
Best things in life
They're free - Hudba
I hadn't heard this before until the close of the season of the "White Lotus". I immediately recognized the unmistakable voice of the great Sam Cooke. I just had to hear it again!

This song did NOT come from wal-mart dumb ass, it was recorded by Sam Cooke in 1964
And now the original version of this song is in the public domain, no longer protected by copyright.
The best things in life really are free.

The White Lotus Season 2 ❤
Love that The White Lotus used this ♥️
Finale of White Lotus, season 2, sent me here.
A commercial led me here. My 2 year old is obsessed with it now. lol Good tune!
poser
funny how even a 2 yr old knows good music. Now if we could get our teens and 20 somethings to find good music and entertainers. Keep baby in the know!
MsKmw15 Haha I'm 16 and I know exactly what is awesome music. Maybe it is because I play an instrument.
.....amazing.....and so true...:)
I just finished the season finale of The White Lotus. What a great ending with this song 😀
EPIC!! There will never be music or a VOICE like Sam's! RIP My Brotha!!
Definitely right!!! There will never be another voice like the legendary Sam Cooke. Rip Sam. Gone but never forgotton! 1931- 1964
"Wrong!!!! Sorely wrong!!!! My voice like his!!!! Only a certain amount will achieve that though!!!!!!! Just never nobody ever better, that's for sure!!!!!! The facts have been proven...... No one has surpassed what he's done yet!!!! And it ain't gon be another human in history to do so!!!!!! All we can do is just rival his voice, not surpass it!!!!!!!" @Fye O aka Don Fanucci@
The definition of soul music. So real. So raw. The immortal Sam Cooke.
He's timing was and still is impeccably enormous
Paulleo Davis I said the same thing.
*His timing was- and still is, impeccable. (Timing, the subject of your sentence, cannot properly be described as "enormous". I also don't think that one should use two adjectives in a row). But I completely agree with your sentiment, that his timing is amazing.
Paulleo Davis Yes, he was a master at back phrasing and really knew how to use it perfectly to express the emotion in the song!
@@mayaramos7011 impeccably is an adverb
Who here after THE WHITE LOTUS S02 :)
this guy is amazing he could sing anything well
Lucia and Mia brought me here.
So glad I decided to watch the White Lotus! Finished both seasons within a week. Season 2 ending was great! 😁
He was a real artist, great voice
I love this song.. Walmart can really pick the right songs
The Jim Carrey version of "Fun with Dick and Jane" brought me here!
THANK YOUUU! I tought i was the only one.
Lmao....me too
Saw the Walmart ad and heard this great jazzy big band vocal and came right here to CZcams to find the performer and recording. Sam Cooke really nails it and what a great pick me up listening to this after any dreary day! "The Best Things in Life Are Free" ...Thanks, Sam
Someone, literally a minute ago, at 2 o'clock in the morning just blasted this through their speakers when we were playing Team Fortress 2, I was playing as the Spy, I was the only one who made it past the walls of sentries across the map, into the empty intelligence room, it was all silent, nobody from either team knew where I was, which was rare for me because I'm generally not a very good Spy.
Then suddenly this started playing out of nowhere, the person playing it was just doing it for their own recreation, had no idea I was so close to finishing, we were currently 2 for 2, the other team's spy had already been killed 30 seconds ago, according to the chat. It was now or never.
I anxiously approached the table and grabbed the BLU team's intelligence, but I did it very promptly because the song put me into a state of euphoria, felt like the right time when the intro started, I went upwards to the battlements and there I was confronted by a level 3 sentry, positioned right in front of the doorway, aimed right at me, but luckily there was also a level 2 dispenser in the way, blocking it from seeing or shooting me and thankfully there was no engie tending to it, I was nearly about to sap the dispenser, just reflexively, but really that would have been stupid because it saved my life, I put the sapper back in my pocket, grabbed my gun because I'm terrible at backstabbing and continued back to the RED base.
So I went back down into the intel room, slowly, backwards, being sure not to misstep, I ran through the other exit, avoided taking the balcony because of the sentry I already bumped into before, ran through the bottom half of their base, all of them standing astride the doors firing at everyone across the other side of the bridge, so I went further downstairs, I sapped the one sentry there prior to ascending into their base and I hoped to god the engineer responsible for it didn't reset it, and thank god he didn't.
As I ran down the sewer pipes; they were completely silent, apart from this wonderful jazz blaring through one of my teammate's speakers, someone else from the RED team (my team) must have seen me, highlighted, underneath the map and typed "Slippery little spy lol" everyone else from my team was topside trying to fight off the BLU team's reinforcements, because they had one hell of a defense strategy, all I could hear was sentries, on the bridge right above me as I ran, several heavies and pyros dropped dead into the moat of water adjacent to me, it was harrowing. But most of them were Blu, so our team was doing a wonderful job at least, keeping them away from our base.
Before I knew it, propelled by this song, I was hurling myself up our sewer pipe, up one staircase and headed to the other, wooden, outdoor staircase, just as I was about to turn a corner; a BLU Pyro came out of nowhere, out the corner of my eye, the front door to our base, ready to finish me off, not that it would've mattered, since the intel was now on our premises, but it would've bummed me out and ended my lucky streak.
I still had my gun out, so I was somewhat prepared, but I wasn't optimistic, I didn't fancy my chances, I didn't even think it would hit him because I've got terrible aim, but to my surprise; I took one shot as he ran straight towards me with his flames reaching out at me, and it was a headshot, from relatively far away, on a weird angle, we were both completely not expecting it to happen, he must have been on low health from fighting his way into the base past my teammates, he went down and I kept speeding ahead.
A RED medic came out of the resupply bunker upstairs and jumped down to join me on the way to our intel room, along with a scout and a soldier, I was finally in the room, the other three resurfaced, knowing their work was done, but I couldn't bring myself to capture the Blu team's intelligence without hearing the end of this beautiful song.
So I stood around just looking at the table, soaking the final closing part of this song in before I approached and secured our third, winning capture. Also gave me the confidence to prevent an annoying transphobic rant in the comments .
And it was fucking magical, I wish I had recorded it somehow, it was the best game of capture the flag I've ever played. Thank you so much Sam Cooke for your amazing music.
Anyway that's what brought me here, playing TF2 the night before a bunch of early morning appointments, I regret nothing. "The best things in life are free" was oddly befitting the context, stealing someone else's briefcase, with my free-to-play account. Best getaway music ever. And considering the length of the song; I'm surprised by how quickly I made it back in time, it felt much longer while we were playing.
God i was so high when I wrote this but the point is it's a great song
Cooke was one of the greatest pop singers of all time, the man died too soon and under a could of mystery.
OUTSTANDING!!!
I knew it was Sam Cooke as soon as I heard the commercial. My ear is superb.
thats only because back in the day, artists had what we called a "sound" unlike todays plain old pudding'. Barely a one of them have any style, sound. Not to mention class.
JACQULYN WEBSTER Yep, me too. That voice!
This song makes me so cheesy. It makes my heart smile. Too bad there's not more music like this.
White Lotus! I love this song
Technically, the best things in life ARE free, all this, the earth which we live on, the emotions which we experience (at least the good ones) and the knowledge that has led us to become what we are. And i'm proud to say i believe God has given us all this.
Sam makes you believe that the best things in life are free. Thank you Mr. Cooke.
I don’t know why this makes me want to dance around the room like it’s a ballroom! Peace!
The 🐐 Goat is King 👑 Sam Cooke!

I just luv this music! You rarely find good bands like this one nowadays. Lively! an Energizer. I can wake up to this music and start the day in an upbeat manner.
Also, I'm hear for the Walmart commercial. I also agree with Aj StLucie...you're sooooo right there's no one who would ever do it better. He's one of the true Legends.

What a happy uplifting song!
best things in life they're free........what a beautiful word! and it's true.i've been Sam cooke fan for 30years.
live at the copa is better than harlem square to listen always for everybody because melodious and cool,Mr.Willie Jordan of 4years ago!
Mizuki Disaro' You have impeccable taste.
Absolutely not....live at the Harlem square club is his greatest performance. The copa doesn't command the energy and rhythm of live at the Harlem square...
I LOOVE this one!!! Also, much respect to R. Kelly for PROPERLY covering this in tribute to Sir Cooke!
Best Walmart Song Ever, Thanks Mart!!!
SAM COOKE, LIVE AT THE COPA!

This one is so beautiful... and the sad part is I neva would've known of its existence had it not been for the film "Fun With Dick And Jane" with Jim Carrey and Tea Leoni. Sam has so many classics that even the most intuitive Sam Cooke admirer has to dig in the crates.
I had to find this
The G.O.A.T
Brillant
The White Lotus season 2 finale brought me here.
"Cooke" is correct, because this really cooks!
I'm a huge Sam Cooke van but I never heard this song. Thank you Walmart. I love it and thank you for posting it!
Mad men thank u
Yeees!- Love his voice!
Props to Lucia
I love sam cooke
Recently I heard this song from Walmart commercial, which reminds me of Madmen episode where Burt Cooper died. I thought the lyrics were interesting, but Sam Cooke's rendition sounds awesome.
Finally, some good music!
