I’ve been using r3 for guard break, l3 for dodge, x for sprint, and o for cancel.. logic is to always be able to have my fingers on the sticks as much as possible with minimal movement… can you try these settings out and tell me what you think? And do you have any special control settings? I’m a rep 70 and been off for a whileeeeeeeeee… heard there’s been a rework so I’m thinking about greeting back into it
I know this comment is a bit older, I’m also a rep70 Shaolin (360 some overall) and funny enough, I thought about trying L3 for dodge so that I could always keep my thumbs on the sticks while going for deflects, but it seemed like it would be more of a hassle and cause unnecessary movement when pressing L3. So instead I moved my dodge button to L1 (on ps5 controller L1 is just used for communication.) that way my thumbs are always on sticks when I need to dodge I just use my left pointer, which was generally hanging out on L1 doing nothing anyway!
0:45 Is it even possible to punish Shaolin if he misses his kicks? It seems that no matter what do you dodge or block, you won't be able to punish him.
Most dodge attacks punish it 100% of the time. If you don't got one you have to make the read and either guardbreak or parry the follow up light attack
I love how you can just get the massive long combos off with him. I literally can’t even throw and opener on console without getting smacked with a light to interrupt it. Honestly the game is such shit on console

This is obv late, but what colors are you using for this shaolin?
The color pallete is daybreak, but I'm not using any patterns so most of the color is just from the armor set. Material is torchlight
