If anyone was checking the boxes for transforming scale between Zbrush and CC4 to alleviate the brush sizing problems, just make sure you set the export scale as 100 in Zbrush for the fbx high poly.
Do anyone know a to fix this problem with Substance Painter? In Character Creator 4 my substance painter link is grey out. it is working for some characters and not working for some. How can i fixed this?
Love this work flow, but wondering if its possible to change the base model ie remove fingers, remove ears or nose, etc.in Zbrush and does that then break the base?
Hi Micheal, thank u for making this videos. It will help a lot for the pipeline. I have a quick question, Is it possible to change uv and material for the character creator model and relink to the character creator project?
I have the 3dscanstore model but can you show how you transfer the scan data to the CC character? I watched the link you provided from 3Dscanstore but it doesn’t show how to use it with a CC model. Please upload a tutorial!
Thank you for sharing your process with us, it's very informative. In your demo you showed how you can change the height and add detail in substance painter with the brush stroke, essentially carving in the detail on his chest. How do you get that new sculpt detail created in Substance Painter back to your ZBrush sculpt since ZBrush doesn't have UDIMs as far as I know. How will you map that new added detail back to the ZBrush sculpt?
Hi Michael, thank you so much for creating this series (of course other ones are awesome too!). I'm now enjoying learning this pipeline with my ZBrush & CC4 by watching your videos. I want to buy the Steam version of Substance Painter 2024 and am wondering if your workflow works with this Steam version too? What folder should I place the CC preset file into if I use this version? Thanks in advance. Best regards, Acon
@aconcheng Did you end up with the adobe version or steam? I got the steam version of substance painter (2023) and I can't find any answers that are up to date. The folder structure exists but the button is greyed out ):
Hi Micheal. Love all your tutorials on CC4 and Zbrush. I have question that seems basic but I can’t seem to find an answer. Is there a way to bring in skin textures that are created in CC4 like pores or anything created in skingen into Zbrush as a normal map or displacement map? I know you wrapped a character with scan data. Is it possible with skingen data? Thank you.
@@MichaelPavlovich I would love to see that - I've been following along, but I'm at a point where I have all my CC4 SkinGens showing right inside ZBrush, but not as a separate Polypaint layer. It'd be amazing to get this workflow locked down! You know what, I achieved what I wanted without that. From CC4 I used GoZ Plus to move all the SkinGen stuff. From there I changed the overall tint with PolyPaint - just selecting the Body in ZBrush, nothing fancy. From there, everything worked as in this video - didn't need to do anything special to move everything into Painter. Can't believe how far I've gotten with a sum total of 3 days ownership of CC4 and ZBrush and no prior modelling experience - thanks Michael :)
Hello Michael Pavlovich, I like your tutorials, incredible. I wanted to know why the option to export does NOT appear in substance painter, that is, when I go to export from substance to character creator, the character creator options or format do not appear. Thank you!
If I understand correctly, you'll need to download and install the preset from the description (unless you're talking about export texture not popping up a dialog box at all, in which case I have no idea)
@@MichaelPavlovich Yes, it is to export the textures but in the dialog box all the formats are shown but NOT the character creator one. sorry, my English is bad ;-) Anyway thank you very much! you are a great teacher!
Is there a way to setup goz to seamlessly hop between character creator, zbrush, and marvelous designer? Whenever I try to goz to marvelous the scale isn’t right. Thanks in advance if anyone has unlocked the secret to this workflow!
@@MichaelPavlovich Thanks for the reply I will look into it and see if this could work! This workflow is so powerful, I feel like hassle free import/export into marvelous designer is the only thing missing!
OK, I really just have 1 thing I've not understood up to this point in the series - how did you get the all the paint to move from CC to ZBrush as a separate layer? I've poked it in every way I can think of, and I can't make that happen. Maybe I've not quite understood something, but I remember you saying a few videos ago that the paint was in a separate powlypaint layer. The way I have it, I can turn the paint off on each ZBrush Subtool and leave myself with the base grey, or I can have it on and show all the Painter works... I can't quite get to the happy medium point :)
Hey Michael, thank you for making this tutorial. It's a big help in understanding what you can do with character creator.
I always learn so much from you. Thank you for always. Michael!!
thank you Micheal, can't wait to see how it works with the clothing and accessories.
Awesome lesson from an Awesome teacher. 🎉 Many Thanks.
Great videos yet again, Thank you!
Awesome tips in this break down, Thanks!
As always amazing and intimidating 👀
(and if I may, you can ALT click check boxes to only activate that check box, just a note for fellow artists)

Wow that skin texturing with zbrush looks amazing. I wish we could get that with character creator alone.
For steam editions, under c, users, search for export-presets. There will be a text file within letting you know it's for export presets.
Your explanations are just amazing!
How do I know when you are doing live stream?
Thank you!

This is great! Thank you Michael. I was wondering if the bodies come UV'd?
Yes, a good portion of this video discusses the UV UDIM setup on the bodies
Hey Michael, thanks for this detailed breakdown. Do you have any tutorial on how to polypaint the skin (and find scan data ressources)? :)

The manual process of bringing over displacement data is kind of a pain, but stay tuned for some alternatives
@@MichaelPavlovich Looking forward to learning the process, thank you.

Shoot, i've never used the steam version, but theres got to be a similar folder structure where it looks for presets!
