Nice view from the roof!! I didn’t see any chunks on the fan cage we know that can cause vibration also? When you were rolling nit around I do not see any counterweights on the fan cage fins so that would definitely cause fan
So I’m going to say the counter weight is missing in action can cause vibration wobble 👍… but great job on troubleshooting

You do great job as always like every professional should but they don’t. That’s why they bring us stacks As you always say. Only thing i can point to was checking amps with panels off. Keep doing the great things as you always do and god bless

Started using Jack Of All Sprays that Ted Cook uses. It doesn't smell like WD-40. Good stuff.

@@PipeDoctorEspecially on a blower motor as the WD-40 stink can go through the house. The Jack Of All Sprays is really good in addition to it not smelling.
Thank you for all the great content Mike. After 20 years in the business I decided to go out on my own back in September. Best decision I’ve ever made. However 4 weeks ago I fell down my basement stairs and broke my leg in 3 places. After surgery and a bunch of hardware installed in my leg the surgeon said I’ll be out of work for 3 months. Fortunately I have your videos to keep everything fresh in my mind.

Amp draw will change depending on airflow resistance so checking amp draw with the doors off sometimes doesn’t give a accurate measurement.
Set that fluke to min./max. Hook your amp clamp up, put the doors on and turn it on for normal operation
Another fun experiment is take a squirrel cage out and sit it on a bench, hook power to it and manually block the airflow coming into and out of the blower and watch your amp draw.
Who thinks Amp draw will increase if you completely block off the air intake coming into the squirrel cage? 😁

It depends on what type of motor it is. If it's a regular PSC motor, your amp draw will drop with less airflow. Variable speed motors will increase their amp draw with reduced airflow to maintain their CFM.

I thought I saw a capacitor on the fan motor housing. No? What if the motor was fine but the cap was bad? Do they always buzz ?? DOH
No you didn’t. The oils leaking and condition warranted replacement
Mike I have a question my friend brought a house and the air flow on the second floor isn't blowing out of the vents like the first floor she had a new furnace and ac installed and still the air flow isn't flowing out as it should what would you do and who can she call

Nice gear. Having the proper equipment makes a big difference. I did some service work before I went to college and the thermodynamics class was a killer. My experience in refrigeration allowed me to much more quickly understand the concepts and solve the problems faster. My classmates thought I was a God for how I blasted through the stuff and aced the course while some of them had to retake it. Too bad I couldn't do that with other courses!
