Lord, Lord, Lord! What a magnificent voice!! I've loved the Platters for years and years. They never get old. :-)
czcams.com/video/Nfb0V_Acz4U/video.html
I am 85 now and I ask Alexa to play the platters and she plays them for hours. I didn’t know they had so many recordings. I begin to feel I’m 25 again.
I’m catching up at 71, but the Platters was the Best! Was? No, still is‼️‼️
God bless you
Back in the ball game boys your guys are right platters is The Best band ever step in Earth 🌎🌎🌎 period not questions ask
you are only 85 years young. just enjoy your status. I wish you nothing but the very best from an 77 year old man.
wishing good health to all. 21 y/o Chicano from Sur Califas (909)
Anyone who does not like this does not understand what quality music is , Platters were amazing vocalists .
I'm 90 and have loved this song so much ....make me think of my husband of 68 years....how I loved him.
C'est ça l'amour ❤
I too lost my sweet husband from cancer when he was only 41 years old. This was also one of my mother’s favorite songs. She died when she was just 68 years old, just 2 years older than I am now. Beautiful music and yes, they don’t make music like this anymore.
Words cannot describe the music these folks sang, nothing comes close..
Spellbinding - what a voice; what a song. Moved me to tears.
Tony William's voice is divine!
Wha memoirs!!
Any musical descendant?
A grand-daughter has posted on another site. I don't know if she sings, but she surely should. 🎶 🎵
Yeslord
The Platters were unstoppable in the mid- late 50s. Hit after Hit! Absolutely beautiful.
Aside from the beauty of the song, the singers themselves are perfectly and immaculately dressed. No grunge, tats, piercings. Nothing but class here...
Times have changed --for the worse. I pity the upcoming generation.
fully agree. so comforting. 🌹🌹🌹
@@annettenunnally2308 the problem is they don't care. I'm 24 and all I see around me is degeneracy. No care for anything lasting. I wonder if there is a correlation for the loss of religious faith and degenerating cultures... oh wait that's exactly the reason why. One day this culture of innocence will return once we return to God.
The superb Tony Williams. He had a sublime voice. This is real singing. What a wonderful group!
The Platters, simply magical
Siempre se recordaran
E Miff Yes, they’ve got the magic touch!
Muy buenos,es un gusto escucharlos
Mind boggling talent - people will be crying along with this song for many generations to come.
Esse grupo é o maior e melhor em um grupo musical.ontem hoje e sempre..
The Platters are PERFECTION. Truly miss this music. Thank God for recording devices to preserve these golden performances.
Their music is so poetic. A masterpiece. God blessed them.
Agreed absolutely
For me the Platters are the best@@susanar5468
Pure class, no auto tune here. Just talent....
I know!!! When I have to go into a supermarket and they have that awful pop music of today it's a shock how bad those auto tuned voices are! I only listen to vintage groups and singers and classical/opera singers, so the stuff today is an assault on my ears ( well except Sigur Ros- they are in a class of their own!)
I agree. I wasn't born till 1967 but I always loved the Platters. Now all that matters is how hoochie one can be. Talent is an afterthought.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍🍀🍀🍀🍀👍👍👍👍👍👍
I agree. They had a class modern singers simply lack. Regards and have a nice day.
It´s amazing!
My grandmother loved the Platters. This was my wedding song.
YOU HAVE GOOD TASTE !
Kaylee Lopez i
Such a great song Kaylee.
You honored your grandmother. Awesome!
and wandavision too
Angel faces with angelic voices. They are my all time No.1 favourites. I'm always in celestial heaven when I listen to The Platters. Greetings from Greece.
HarrodsFan what a beautiful comment!
Man this group was EXCELLENT !!!!!!!!!!!!
RIP Tony Williams. One of the best voices ever.!
he died in 1992. he left the platters in 1960 for a solo career. you should out check those songs too
My favorite singing group of all time, love these beautiful people.
Back in the days when singers could actually sing !!!
Brings tears to my eyes. The Platters and the Drifters were the best there ever was.
My first wife's favorite. RIP Lorraine
Around 1958, I had a 1951 Pontiac Siver Streak with straight eight and Hydramatic. Alas, no radio. So I found a used one cheap and non-working. Fixed it up and installed it, and this was one of the first songs to play on it.
Thanks for sharing that. Those simple times have been lost forever. CD
not forever....they will return, just likely not in our lifetime.
Scott Trager Hope you are right about that prediction because the current world has gotten well out of control. CD
OldDogNewTrick, how your words have reminded me of those days...as a teenager I was" into cars" and all that went with it. I bought a 1957 Chevy BelAire with a "Four Pack";......meaning it had a 4 barreled carburetor, dual exhausts and a Powerglide transmission...aka; "Powerslide!" Of course it only had an AM radio which really didn't have much range...but that didn't matter since it would pick-up all the Local Rock & Roll stations....music by Buddy Holly, Elvis, The Everly Brothers, Bill Haley and the Comets......on and on!
How old were you? What was it like to live in the 50s?
Dear god . There will never be a better group then the platters ☘
what a wonderful time for music such heartfelt beautiful music
I love all of the Platters songs..Tony Williams was the voice of long ago. His voice was so heavenly.
Terry Sanders my mothers.favorite group.i miss you mom
Yeslord
Could listen to the Platters for hours on end, superb.
My sentiments exactly!!! This song (and this superb group) is a classic!!!
One Of Greatest Vocalists Former Opera Singer Tony Williams.... Makes It Look....Too Easy
I did not know that but makes sense
Dont mean to argue but Tony Williams was a parking lot attendant in LA when Buck Ram took him under his wing and trained his voice, and brought him onto the Platters.. He also sang in church but there is no documentation of him being an opera singer. If there is, Id love to see it. He's my favorite singer, by the way,
I agree with you. I do remember awhile back someone suggesting that when he left the group in 1960 that he went off to study classical musical. Not sure how accurate that is. But it is uniformly acknowledged in most circles that he was a parking lot attendant when Ram recruited him.
@@hillcresthiker he's my grandfather and no he was not a trained singer. however; buck did come across him in a parking lot because him and others would sing all the time... and buck loved his voice. but yes, definitely an amazing singer.. not saying that because i'm his kid's kid. =)
Gene Ayala that’s great info...and makes a lot of sense!
The Platters is my favorite singing group of all time, and my father (RIP) loved The Platters 😢
All these years later, they can still summarized in one word: talent. Tony Williams was an outstanding lead, and Buck Ram was extraordinary as writer, arranger and manager. Herb Reed, the bass, kept the group going for decades. Didn't realize he was 5' 10", the others being relatively tall, until they appeared on American Bandstand.
This is a beautiful song, so tender and meaningful, that it shall never be outdated. Tony Williams' voice is really Great to hear and the lyrics of the song are very good. A pleasure to hear 66 years after it was released.
Oh, the memories. Of the greatest rock N' Roll and Platters coming in with best sound ever recorded. We had all kinds of music in the 50's. I lived through it all. Thank you God.
Amazing Lyrics, beautiful song and incomparible singing.
Tony Williams is great the best of the best
Music to melt by! Such a classic tune. Sit back and let the mellow wrap you in smoothness...
Tony Williams...probably the most underrated singer in the 50's. "The Platters" were not the same when he left.
This takes me back to my early teens in America in the 50's Loved The Platters and never forgot them. Wonderful to find them on CZcams.
Twilight Time is my favorite Platters song
Buck Ram sure knew how to write ballads
I remember hearing this song played many times in our house, very romantic. This song and many like it will never get too old!!!!!
Listening in 2022, and remembering romantic dinners at home with my wife with their fantastic music playing in the background.
Beautiful song delivered by an amazingly classy group! Thanks for posting!
In 1958 no matter how we were treated, the best always rise to the top.
Played at every dance when I was growing up. Such a beautiful song.
One of the greatest of all time. Still performing.
Who could possibly dislike this classic???
Idiots who have never been in love
Whoever dislikes any of this is brain dead!
Simply loved all their songs then..love them even more now!! 💜
My dad was a very gifted professional accordionist. This was his signature song. Twilight Time is part of my DNA!
Everything the Platters did was beautiful---they are my favorites over all-----
The original Platters were the best singing group of my generation. I listen to them on CD almost every day.
Esse magnífico grupo musical fez a história das canções românticas pularem para o topo de todas as listas de melhores de todos os tempos. Eternamente The Platters! Todos aqui no Brasil os amamos! 🙏🏻 ✨🌟😍❤️ 🇧🇷
I loved, and love, all their songs. Just beautiful
Listening to Tony sing and watching Lola swing her hips in that crushing dress: What could be better?
Anthony Williams has such a fantastic voice.
His actual name was Samuel (Tony) Williams....It was NOT Anthony.
Born Samuel E. Williams in Elizabeth, NJ. Not sure where "Tony" came from.
The Platters pra sempre!!!!!
The Platters from the year 1955 till their breakup brought tons of unforgettable sweet and lingering memories of my teen years. To be able to hear Tony Williams and his sterling group is a sheer and profound joy mingled with a tear of past memories that can never be erased. May the Platters be Blessed for the happiness they brought to those who heard his singing.
From a teenager I have always loved to listen to the Platters, great, great music.
One of the Platter's best song ,no autotunes, pure nd you can really feel the sincerety of his voice just like his serenenading you❤❤
I love The Platters like many classic bands or groups and knowing that the Soundtrack at least Twilight Time was the background of the Wandavsion trailer left me in love even more!!♥️
Heavenly shades of night are falling, it's twilight time
Out of the mist your voice is calling, it's twilight time
When purple colored curtains mark the end of day
I'll hear you, my dear, at twilight time
Deepening shadows gather splendor as day is done
Fingers of night will soon surrender the setting sun
I count the moments darling till you're here with me
Together at last at twilight time
Here, in the afterglow of day, we keep our rendezvous beneath the blue
Here in the same and sweet old way, I fall in love again as I did then
Deep in the dark your kiss will thrill me like days of old
Lighting the spark of love that fills me with dreams untold
Each day I pray for evening just to be with you
Together at last at twilight time
Here, in the afterglow of day, we keep our rendezvous beneath the blue
Here in the sweet and same old way, I fall in love again as I did then
Deep in the dark your kiss will thrill me like days of old
Lighting the spark of love that fills me with dreams untold
Each day I pray for evening just to be with you
Together at last at twilight time
Together at last at twilight time
Exquisite poetry
Much thanks for posting the lyrics -- kudos!
And to think 🤔 this Masterpiece was written by a Teen-ager!!!! Buck Ram!!! 🎶 🎵 🎼 🎹 🎷 🎺 🥁 🎶
Amazing 😉. Can’t get better. My grandparents time. Beautiful
Gives me the goose bumps every time I hear this song...I will definitely let my 8 year old daughter listen to all these oldies but goodies music...
One of my sweet daddy's favorite to play when he was teaching me to dance...miss you daddy!
CristalloLavanda Oceano
I feel the love
The Platters was probably the first and great singing group of pop music and the pioneer of the Doo Wop genre.
Tony Williams, phenomenal voice & timing!
I was two years old when this became a hit, I was born too late for this great time in America.
How can you not like this
Does it really get any better than this?.. absolutely classics vocals!
Pure gold
I just absolutely love this song so very much, beautifully sung, and a beautiful song indeed. It makes me so happy listening to such a brilliant song.
Everytime I hear this with this particular Platters' lead singer.....the tears inevitably come
Pamela Ann Fuller Tears are rolling down my cheeks as I write this reply!
What a beautiful song! And performed as only the great Tony Williams and The Platters could...bar non!!!

The Platters es uno de los íconos de los años 60 con sus majestuosas interpretaciones. Me traen muchos recuerdos de mi juventud.
This is the Platters greatest song. They had a ton of hits but this one is the best!!!!
I think all of their songs were equally beautiful .. I can't pick just one!! LOVE them ALL!!
Agree 100%!
No, "Smoke gets in your eyes" is their greatest
Seguiré escuchando estas maravillosas voces siempre. Gracias
Simply beautiful and so great to hear after so many years. Timeless really.
I grew up as an intense rock and roll fan, addicted to all the original Founding Fathers because of my very hip babysitter, and then the Beatles took over my life. But at every step, The Platters and the Drifters crept into my DNA. Tony Williams might just be the greatest, most awe inspiring male vocalist of my lifetime. And whether the 8 year old boy or the 67 year old man, this song just leaves me with my jaw hanging open. I was SO lucky to be born when I was.
I can't stop listening to this song. They were good. Love it
A big hit during my senior yr in high school. An era of great pop music.
One of the best groups ever!
Linda canção, saudades do tempo insequecuvel q viveram essa época q nvolta mais.
