  • Noon test of the sirens in Blue Rapids. This is the “Tornado Signal”. The city says they test the sirens every day at noon.

    I hear the XT22's , Allertor's and that mysterious high-pitched siren. Also cool you drived trough the town to see the sirens!

    Glad your channel is still active. Also glad Kansas still has some healthy warning systems.

      Actually they just do a quick wail at noon. The 5 minute test is either weekly or monthly. Can’t remember for sure. My grandma lived 1 block from the 3t22 before she died. The also do a 2-3 minute alert for fire calls.

    They looks old, decrepit, and unreliable. No back up power batteries, probably all land line. Time to to get rid of them and get with times. People have smart phones for alerts and can get weather radios.

      If they work, don't replace them

    • @FBHSswimmer2006
      @FBHSswimmer2006 Před 4 měsíci

      Why get rid of perfectly good working sirens just because they’re old. They can be upgraded with modern controllers and be radio activated. Granted, they can’t be adapted to battery backup.
