The LRP has a very thin sleeve and it’s got very tight pinch. The chrome that they use also can chip quite easily. I’ve never heard of the sleeve breaking like that but with how the engine is constructed it’s not too much of a surprise.
They are just low quality thats why they retail for 179.99... proper lubrication and pre heating of engine before every fire up can extend the life of any nitro motor .
Unfortunately the LRP .32X sleeve is very thin. I got myself a .32X as well and also got it modded you can see on my channel how bad the sleeve looked right out of the box and I had to get it modded right away

Don Foss Had it in a 8ight t. The engine mad tremendous power at mid and high. It was always lagging very badly on the hole. Even after I put a nova carburetor on it it would not except a good tune. I personally believe that engine was flawed from day one. I’m sad that it’s gone but on the other hand I can’t wait to get this 28 8 going.
Jason Auteri In The almost 20 years I’ve been running nitro I’ve never use after run oil. I personally believe that my engine was flawed from day one. The engine made fantastic mid high power but was a complete dog out of the hole. Even under the initial start up after I got it did a preheat I had to change the settings just to get it to start. It was loading up with fuel so terribly at Lowend. Even after I put the nova carb on it could not get it to take a good tune.

Had a LRP ZR21 that had the EXACT same problem, even though it was tuned perfectly, it would start to load up with fuel at the low end like crazy and turn off after 20s, or if you punch the throttle after 10s idling. Another horrible thing about it: it had a full metal carb without heat insulation... hello vapor lock! Even though I was using Ethanol fuel that has a way higher boiling point... Honestly, people give Force Engines bad rep, but the Force .28 I am now running was SO friggin easy to tune, doesnt turn off even after minutes of idle, doest load up, holds its tune for more than a dozen tanks now perfectly and has a plastic carb that doesnt cause vapor locks.
Same thing happened to my lrp engine didn’t use it for months me2 was busy at work all I hear was a loud ping when home from my bashing spot took it apart the rod broke end up putting a new rod and it runs fine again but I don’t trust this engines no more don’t know if this happens because it’s mod it have no idea
end up getting a new1 but this time got it mod by rcr mods still needs to be broken in. But yeah I believe my next engine will be one of those nova28-8
That lrp seems to be everyone's waste of time and money its not worth being modified and won't hold up stock what a damn shame so many people have had issues with this engine, hope you are doing well!
Elite Rc yeah I have to say I was a little disappointed with that engine. It had great mid and high power but the low-end was terrible. At low end it would fill up with fuel no matter what the tune was. Even after I put a nova carb on it it loaded up with fuel at low end. Was not as bad but from day one I was never able to get a good tune on that engine. Can’t wait to get the nova in the truck.
i run the 28.8 good motoe the break in is a little hairy that thing has stupid tight pinch and takes awile for it to calm down im a gallon in on mine and still crazy pinch on it
