Yeah, they look cool and all but I'd rather spend $15 on an actual good game, hell, you can even get The Witcher 3 with DLCs by that price considering they put it at that price very often, a lot of indie games for less than that too, it doesn't matter how they wanna put it, 4 years for this is baffling

In a vacuum, these missions were pretty fun. Not much replay value, but enjoyable for what they were and the harder difficulties do provide quite a challenge. And enjoying them for what they are is perfectly fine, I certainly did. However, I don’t think we should ever forget what Blizzard took from us and lied to us about, and I think we should all keep complaining about Blizzard forever because simply put, they deserve it.
bit of a bad mindset to keep, they TRIED, they tried to give us even more and it didnt work out, it aint great that we were lied to and the company was kinda scummy for a long time but the OVERWATCH TEAM are clearly trying to make amends despite what BLIZZARD says, those are 2 different things altogether

This is such a weird thing to say. “I think we should continue to complain about something they haven’t given us forever simply because they didn’t give it to us” like it or not you’re a part of the problem. Running a game like overwatch is incredibly hard especially with how big the player base is. On top of that, overwatch devs and pros have said many times that 99% of the reason they can’t do certain things or have creative freedoms is because of management/blizzard itself, instead of the people who work on the game.
@@AlforTheReaper Alright I'll bite. I agree with you that it's largely not the devs fault. When I say "Blizzard," I mean the corporate/management side of things for the most part. They are responsible for the awful monetization system Overwatch has, and they are probably the biggest culprit when it comes to us not getting the PvE that was promised. They deserve to be complained about just as any other billion dollar company who lies to their customers deserves the same treatment. That being said, how am I or any other average OW player part of the problem? The only thing you mentioned is that running the game is hard because the player base is big. I don't see how that has any bearing on PvE being canceled, if anything it would help.
I wouldn’t say it’s worth the 4 year wait. But these are still pretty cool, cutscenes and dialogue are great, gameplay is fun, maps/environments are gorgeous. The story is really good too, and deserves a full campaign, not just separate missions.

After playing the missions and watching flats play them i can honestly say that while they are fun... it really is just the archives event but now they cost money. If they are going to have us pay 15 dollars or more any time they release missions its gonna make a "free" game into a 200 dollar game. theres as much replayability as the archives event which was clearly shown to be mid at best
I'm sad they didn't include the archives missions in the Invasion missions.

They ARE archive missions. They made a new engine to make better pve missions, and they objectively are better but it's still Retribution/Storm Rising etc: linear pathing, minimal mechanics/interactions/story, no reason to play it more than twice

The fact that I could watch less than 30 minutes of gameplay and already feel like I have no replayability value even without playing it myself, says so much. My god, 15 dollars? This is just an extended archives event at best. Great you guys had fun, but man the only way I'd play this is if it was free and came with the OW2 launch.
I would be having fun too if my chat not only paid for the pack, but also then paid for lunch, gas and bills lol. Of course the streamers w friends who are deeply invested in the game and get paid to play had fun. I didn't have fun in archives wiping with randoms even on the lower difficulties, I didn't play them once I got the sprays I wanted, I didn't want more of the same but behind a paywall

Reinhardt is probably the best tank for PvE. He can delimb nullbots with striking inaccuracy and his pin can turn them into nuggets.
Pve is here! Not only is it scattered missions instead of a full campaign, but you have to pay at least 15 dollars for them!

One thing I don’t understand is why the talent trees couldn’t be been reworked into a card system where at the start of the mission you allocate points on an upgrade card that gives your abilities additional affects and the number of points you have is based off the difficulty you’re playing on. I understand that the trees weren’t finished and we’re taking way too long but it’s still so dumb to
completely scrap the main selling point of the mode and kill any replay value. Even if it was just 4 upgrades that would be more than enough.

These honestly look like replayable Fortnite events, where there’s not a lot of overall content, but it progresses the story, which is what some people only play the game for.

But if these new missions (like underworld) are replacing archive missions, it makes me wonder what they’ll do with the various archive sprays people couldn’t get.
.... why do people go to fortnite when comparing.... XD ... Save the world (which is older then Fortnite's BR) is atually a mix up of games/gamemodes. But The story telling and lore hunting is there. its replayable lol

And I was more referring to the free to play battle royale events, where there is still a story presented (among other things), but it’s not replayable.
They feel very similar from my experience, it’s like you see all this crazy stuff happening via cutscenes and background stuff, play about 10-15 minutes of it, and then it’s done, you don’t get much actual content, but you progress with the lore.

There is an achievement for the new room in the training grounds,you need to get 100 points either attacking bull's eyes or attacking training robots in the new room. :) It took me a few tries,but i got the achievement,kinda easy to be honest. :D
Too bad it’s garbage, not even 1 hour long for the overall gameplay. (not counting the cinematics time) Stylosa did a full video of the cinematics, it didn’t even reach 30 mins 😬
The length of what's available might suck, I don't think it's entirely garbage though unless you never really cared about lore. I like the way the characters interact and their synergy. The smaller interactive details. Blizzard is fucking dog shit but the artists/creators behind this put in effort and seemed to care. Too bad they're the only ones that care about the game behind the scenes...
The PvE was great! I really enjoyed watching the playthrough on CZcams.

I genuinely have enjoyed playing the story missions! There are so many cool easter eggs and even the addition of the patchimari was very fun.
This 3 misions are the missions, that they hold back from you in the last 4 years. Now you pay for it.

I thought the missions were fun the first play through and I liked the cutscenes and story but like we all expected this just makes me feel like it’s wasted potential and makes me want what we were originally promised even more. This just isn’t enough, I want more. I like what we got for what it is but I want so much more.
I actually quite enjoyed the missions to be honest. Maybe it’s just because I got three funny, random people. The new support character looked fun, so I figured I might as well get the battle pass to get them anyways.

I played the first day of launch of overwatch two didn’t enjoy the changes and never played since. I played, overwatch one, and I was looking forward to the PVE. I guess I’ve been out of the loop of the game for long enough to where I didn’t realize they canceled the main PVE. I thought there was gonna be skilled trees and stuff. They didn’t really advertise it like they canceled the main cause of the game they just said the PVE was here.

@@Kittynelson4 go back thru flats' videos and watch the pve coverage from a few months ago then, it's not as heartbreaking in retrospect, but at the time I wanted to oops myself after waiting almost a decade for the hero missions
Honestly I'd love to see more of the different factions and a bit of a story mode in the pvp. Instead of everyone being able to pick everything and having the same hero on both teams I think it would be awesome if the attack team was something like talon or null sector heroes only and defense would be the overwatch team or other factions such as the shimada clan or the meka team grouped Into a resistance faction of some sort. Obviously they would have to add a ton of different characters cause the overwatch team has way to many people vs talon or omnic. But I think it would be a cool concept that would add a bit of a story line to different maps. Without really changing pve. I also feel it would make the game far easier to balance cause instead of having to balance around every character in the game when they release new characters it would create a smaller pool of characters in matches to choose from and you wouldn't have to worry about things like when sojo was broken.
I love this idea, but I don't trust blizzard enough to not make one team just absolutely broken and each match just one sided.

I hope there’s a mission where you pick up from sombra, widowmaker, and zenyatta in the cutscene and they’re making their way to a waypoint. I’m not sure what the enemies you shoot would be but I think that would be super cool
@_treed1 even just a really cool stealth mission with some of the omnic monks that you have to take out at key spots and if you become detected genji kills you
ngl I didn’t really care about pve at all but it IS pretty fun watching streamers playing it. like I don’t feel like I’m missing out at all.

One thing they should add would be an any hero option after you beat the mission like the archive events had an any hero mode
well.... This is the story of them reforming again... they are only a select few heroes to start off with... 8 to be precise if you count lucio
@@JayAlastor that makes no sense. Archives are specific events in history with specific options on characters, but there is still a "For Fun" gamemode where you can play anybody.

Playing with random has taken over 3 hours on Toronto and counting for me
Technically it is $5. You get 1000 coins in the package, which is roughly $10. Plus you get an extra skin for completing the missions. But I kind of wish the just sold the missions without the coins and the skin.

Having an echo who can use ult on your support so you have two for a bit is actually a great idea. just the fact that you have a Lucio solo healing means anything to get more heals going around is a must-have.
Im fairly sure almost that entire intro cutscene was just stitched together pieces of the various hero reveal trailers and the cinematics they released before OW1. There were like 2 new pieces of animation in that entire thing

The cutscenes, voice work, and environments are all fantastic, but these missions just felt.. off.
They just felt so slow-paced in my opinion I don’t know why. A shame skill trees were scrapped, having some new things to play with would’ve been an absolute blast.
I'm happy to see this but sad to remember the potential it had and lost.

I'm really enjoying the PvE missions. You do have to play it on the hardest difficulty since it forces you to play as a team. It really does feel epic
Ask yourself that in a week and question why you paid 15 dollars for an Archive event

I hate how people dont understand how difficulty is suppposed to work.
Me example: In cuphead when you use simple difficulty It skips some phases and reduces the amount of damage needed and reduces attack speed and attacks on the whole
On normale:well its normal
With Expert:Sometimes there is extra phases.More attacks intersecting each other.More stuff covering your screen.The boss has more health more damage and etc.
In overwatch pve you know what they did? Just increase hp literally just hp more hp and more hp so basically your playing the same thing with more HP
Its really good, things i want are a "Queue all difficulties" option, and something that makes it replayable.

blizzard admitted they were lying about the release of PvE for over half a year.

it speaks volumes how very little content is given to overwatch players, seeing how much joy flats had hearing just the voicelines in the beginning..
im also happy with the ui changes to main menu

Idc I’m enjoying PVE. This season has been awesome so far. There is so much of a mob mentality around the game, and some of it warranted for sure. But im going to focus on enjoying everything that I do get. Just my opinion.

I like how in one of the first cutscenes in which they group up in that small home to make a plan, Reinhardt says "We'll have Echo bring the shuttle."
Yet it's Brig who is flying it..
I get Echo was used in the old version of the map back in the day when people tested it out but damn Blizzard, it just solidifies this old recycled content that plenty of people have already seen and played. A shame imo. Anything for a quick and overpriced dollar.
