Lisa, I have seven children (one in college and married, so technically six at home 😁) and you have radically changed my home and our health. So thank you for that! Today I wanted to complement you with the comment of how great you look. I am always impressed by your natural beauty and your sweet heart. Thanks for all you do!
Thank you!
I second that!
New subscriber here. When she said she's been a homemaker for 16 years I thought when did she start ( at 11 ) because I actually thought she was still in her twenties and maybe married someone who has kids. So when I read you guys say after 8 kids she is slim I just about had my chin on the floor.
I've thawed in hot water for 50 yrs I've never made anyone sick...still here feeling good at 71 haven't made anyone sick.
Me too
Me watching you cut meat directly on your counter top and wanting to yell at everyone who has always told me I couldn’t or shouldn’t. Like- why have clean counters then 🗣️🙌🏾
I’m a first time mom and when I’m nursing my newborn at night I always have your videos running. It brings me comfort and hope that I will have a big family like you someday. Thank you for the wonderful content!
You're cooking skills are phenomenal. Very Blessed family to have such a gifted Mother/Wife. Lots of great cooking ideas. ❤😊
I love that you are a rebel cook. Your sourdough bread and discard recipes have made a big difference in my gut health. I've made sourdough off and on for 30 years. I appreciate that the discard recipes make for little waste. Also love that you provide motivation for younger cooks to cook with whole, real ingredients that are nutrient rich.
Thank you!
“These people want to eat” 😆😂 love all your videos- inspirational! ✨
I laughed out loud when she said that!?😂😂
@@elizabethbertsch3066me too !!!
Story of our lives right?😂😂😂😂 wouldn't trade it for anything❤
There are no other videos I look forward to more or click on faster than yours! 🤣🥰
To get more veg in my family's diet, I've been cooking kale and then pureeing (chopping it really, really fine). I add at least a cup or two to soups, spaghetti sauce, salmon & noodles and my family hasn't figured it out! They think the little green flecks are parsley, not kale 🤫! 💖🌞🌵😷
Show 'em how it's done, Lisa! What a treasure you are!
watching as the thumbs up count and view count rises as I'm watching this 2 hrs after it's published. A few times I gave a thumbs up right when I start your vids, my kids are like wow mom you didn't even see it yet but I know the quality. Love how you've grown in your confidence, video abilities and followers. Thanks for the meal ideas -God bless your family!
Try using your sourdough starter as your thicker or roux. It's prefermented & works fantastic. ❤❤❤
Your videos ground me in reality and encourage me to start creating in my own life.
I love watching you cook lisa, BUT im always hungry after. 😂
😁
After my potatoes bake... Hot from the oven, I wrap them in kitchen towels to steam. You can leave them wrapped on the counter, but I put them wrapped in a cold microwave or toaster oven to steam... I think being in the little cold ovens helps steam them better. Although I squeeze them like you, I sometimes find one that's still a little firm in the middle. This method solves this problem and I never get a dry baked potato. Something I make from left over baked potato is potato salad. Just add your dressing, celery, onion, hardboiled egg and pickles, ready to serve. I use pickle relish (for hamburgers and hotdogs) in my potato salad... so much faster! 💖🌞🌵😷
I defrost meats in hot water often and my mom did the same. No problem 👌
Lisa, my grandmother would have loved watching you cook!
Your discard recipes are gold; my husband doesn't have a gallbladder and he's never had to run to the potty after one of your recipes; no higher praise in my house 😂❤
Wonderful!
Because of my recovery from some health issues, I'm all about breaking recipes down into chunks. I've thought gnocchi was too labor intensive, but the way you presented it in the recipe, I can totally see me making it! Thanks! 💖🌞🌵😷
I just love watching you cook for your wonderful family. Your soups look so delicious but I’m not much of a spice eater. I wasn’t raised with much spices except for garlic, salt n pepper. My Mama was a good ole’ southerner, born n raised in Alabama. So we ate a lot of southern food. My Mama cooked a lot with lard or bacon grease. It gave some food a delicious flavor. I married a Yankee n he was raised on meat n potatoes. But I got him around to liking some southern food. He loved my southern fried taters. I think you’re doing a fantastic job being a wife n mother. You take very good care of your family. God bless you for that.
♥️♥️😊👍👍👏👏
Bless you sweetie, I love "catching up with my friend, getting ideas from you"! Knowing your industrious, homemaking a Proverbs 31 woman is a blessing to your family and all who watch regardless of the viewer's view. Besides, I just love food and food science!😁♥️
Thank you so much!
Oh my ❤ you made my mouth water and I just got done with dinner 😅.the toy (?) in the Dutch oven made me smile lol. And in Indian food onion, ginger , garlic, tomatoes with paprika, turmeric and salt is the base for almost any curry you want.
I'm with you Lisa. Onions, garlic and carrots/ celery are the holy trinity of cooking. If you've got those, you've got a tasty, nutritious meal.
You are a kitchen magician! Love this “getting started for the week” video… very inspiring.
0:49 Girl! ... Why don't you have a basket to shop your freezer? A box, crate or even a garden basket wound be helpful here as you do this at least once a week! Looks like there's even a spot on the shelf behind you to store it when you're not out there shopping. (As I suspect that you keep potatoes and onions out there too.) 💖🌞🌵😷
I love that you’re a rebel with sourdough too! 😂 my starter is nearly 3 years old and has never looked like what I see on Instagram, it’s never doubled in size or anything but she makes great loaves + everything else! Because of this, I never pre feed my starter, I always pull it out of the fridge when I need it, pour off the hooch and feed it enough to make the days sourdough creation and it’s always great. I love a no fuss approach to sourdough with great results!
I have the same problem as you, especially if I have to work. I try to make things that will expire first, like yourself, then get and plan things that I can use in a week. Luckily my family is more or less self sufficient now, but I still like to make something they can have for a few days ( ie stews, or roast chicken).
Personally Lisa, I love your vlogs, I find them inspiring and calming at the same time. Lovely way for me to unwind.
Thank you!
You are one amazing woman, truly blessed and gifted in this homemaking! Thank you for sharing this experience with us❤️😊
I am also a "fresh garlic and onion in every meal" mom ;) Seriously stepping up our garden game in both of those this season (somewhere between 500 and 600 garlic planted last fall) and onion starts coming from Dixondale. Love getting fresh ideas on the meals from you!
Yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks 😉 I take out my “pan” of meat on Sunday and I’m set for the week. You’ve trained me! Amazing ! You really don’t waste with this method.
Cooking for a large family/group is so easy for me because we love leftovers for work lunches. This morning I’m enjoying quiche and bread I baked days ago.
I love adding ground flax seed to my bread for added health benefits. And your moose meat skillet mixture is what we use to fill blanched red, yellow, green peppers (clean out seeds and take off top). Fill & top with croutons and bake in oven. Baked stuffed peppers. :)
Love love love your channel!!
I learned to thaw ground meat out quickly by placing the frozen meat in a skillet with a lid and about a quarter cup of water to create some steam inside and turn it to med-low. The steam will soften the meat on all sides, and then you can scrape it off, flipping it over and over when you check it every few minutes. In no time, it will be completely thawed. Then, remove the lid, turn the heat up to med-high to brown the meat, letting the steam cook off for a bit.
Do this while prepping the rest of your dinner. Just keep an eye on it.
Ms. Lisa, I'm watching you at 4 AM, and you make me want to get up to start making food/decorate, etc. Haha! You're always so inspiring. I wanted to tell you that I'm helping at a homeschool CoOp, and we had a pot luck a couple weeks ago, and guess what I took? I fixed 6 different loaves of your sourdough bread, some of which I branched out on my own by adding cheese, seeds, and spices! I've been learning from you since last May or so. They are asking for a class to make sourdough bread...from me...can you believe it? I'm saving lots of discard to take for everyone to have, and they can start making their own starter. It's all from you! Thank you for your wonderful heart!
That's wonderful, thanks for sharing!
I’m super sick in my 1st trimester so I’ve been watching more and more of your videos while in bed. I’ve never been more inspired to bake bread, source more quality ingredients (already found a raw milk pickup 15 minutes away), and focus on feeding my family flavorful and nutritious meals. Watching you has made me ponder how it’s such an important way to love my husband and kids, and teach them a valuable life skill. Once I’m feeling better I want to start incorporating some of your routines and meals into my day!
I get so excited for your videos 😊
Love watching you cook. Everything always looks so delicious! God bless your sweet and precious family! 😀❤️

Great ideas, thank you for sharing. You had me cracking up with your intro - don’t know what’s on the menu this week but I know that these people expect to eat…😂😂😂😂
Meece Moot, that is Gold!!! My daughter used to say Par Cark instead of car park when she was little and I still say it in my head when I’m driving around looking for one 😊
At the supper table many years ago, my grandpa once asked for someone to please pass the "boon speen" to him. (He actually wanted the Bean Spoon.). 😅

Love this ❤
I love how good your precious lil baby is. Just going with the flow🥰 I’m 46 and I couldn’t have children but I take care of my 71yr old disabled mom. I cook from scratch for us almost everyday then have leftovers on other days/nights. Love your channel. I’ve learned a lot from you. Your voice is so comforting and soothing to listen to and your esthetic is beautiful to watch❤
My children are grown and gone but the cooking and homemaking are STILL a huge part of my life. It's a lot of work and planning and gets to be a grind as I head toy 60s. However, watching your videos has changed my mind and heart into thinking that the homemaking process is a very honorable role in life and a little less of chore. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS VIDEO!
I also do same day sourdough and right out of the fridge starter! Works like a charm
So inspiring as usual, Lisa!! ❤
Thank you ❤

You’re an incredible homemaker, cook and mom
Your Monday morning resets always remind me to thaw meats and motivates me to meal plan to do so.
SO INSPIRERED!!!
You are such a wonderful cook, mother and just a inspiration!! Love watching your videos!! God Bless🙏❤️
That was an awesome cook fest! Loved the gnocchi soup in the end! Your family is very lucky to have a mom so talented and caring as you. As usual, I love your videos!
I always use my starter straight from the fridge and it works just fine. That way you don't need to plan ahead either!
Thank you for all the beautiful content you put out. You have helped me in so many ways in my own homemaking!
Love from the U.P. of Michigan. 🙃
Your thumbnail😂. I have a tea towel that says… Why do they want dinner every single night?😂
I’ve been going out to my freezers and filling my arms as you do… but I finally started taking a basket-game changer🙌🏻. & I KNOW you have lots of beautiful baskets😜
Always delicious looking meals, always makes me hungry😄 Thanks for sharing, and for sharing your recipes!
My pleasure 😊
I enjoy watching you cook. Enjoyed this video.
Lisa Garlic and onion are both loaded with vitamin C! Great vlog!
I love using whole wheat flour, i usually use only it and my rye sourdough starter. It's much easier, less sticky and has this amazing flavor that white flour looses.
Beautiful and delicious!!🩷
BEAUTIFUL BLESSINGS💝💝💝 love the incredible ideas especially when winter seems to be continuing 🙄
Love watching what you do in the kitchen! Inspires me to mix up my normal routine. Crossing my fingers that Thrive Market will ship to Alaska someday! Lord knows we could use some more affordable groceries up here 🤞🏼
Lisa, I love the way you use your starter. The no fuss way you feed, use and keep it in the fridge takes so much stress out of sourdough baking
I hate when I find a channel like yours……that I absolutely love and finish binge watching. Guess I’ll have to start watching again from the beginning. Keep doing what you do! ❤
haha...thank you!
That’s a lot of cooking and a lot of delicious food!!!! I’m hungry!!!
Wonderful ❤and great timing as I talked to my sis today about learning how to use whole grain fresh flour in sourdough! We use soooo many of your recipes each week- thanks!!!
Lisa, you amaze me!

U Rock! Luv watching U Guys prepare Meals for ur Families. Looks Absolutely Delicious. Thank u for sharing!
I feel hugged seeing this video, so much of my own reality but also different 😅 love this! ❤
I've been back wearing lately too. It makes things so much easier to get things done, but man my shoulder/neck pain was real the other day.
I need to make a nice soup before winter ends. I used to make soup a lot more but this year haven't done it as often. I loved watching how you were making yours. I can see how it looks like chicken pot pie soup!
Made your sourdough discard pretzels yesterday and (although they weren't as pretty as yours!) the kids gobbled them down! Thanks for another great recipe!❤
Reallllly love your content!
Yes, you inspire me greatly!
Ty for all you give!
Blessings ✝️🚩✝️🚩✝️
Great video
Hi Lisa, I love your kitchen! TY for your great recipes! 🥳
So yummy! You can never have too much soup!
You're using a scale now!! I have the same scale, I find it sooo much easier, quicker and less mess! I just made your sourdough discard bread, it was great!! I needed a last-minute loaf of bread, and it was nice to use some discard, too!
Yum 😋 Brilliant ideas beauty ! Thank you & God bless you and your beautiful family 💛
Thank you so much!
I love how you are familiar with a variety of different foods including from different cultures. Carnitas ❤
I’ve been watching your videos for a while and I love your style of living!
You are amazing! What great meals! ❤️
Thank you 😋
We've made your creamy chicken and rice soup like three or four times this winter. It's so delicious and my boys love it! Always love watching you cook for your family!
Thank you!
