  • Sermon of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in Paris, Le Bourget, for his 60th anniversary of ordination, November 19th, 1989.
    It’s a pleasure to be able to - after many hours of editing - bring to you all a subtitled, ‘enhanced’, English version of Archbishop Lefebvre’s excellent sermon he preached in 1989.
    Since his audio & video sermons such as these aren’t that well known in the English speaking world (and most of them are in French), I felt that I must make these sermons more accessible.
    I hope that it will be helpful & enlightening to many people new to Tradition, as well as faithful SSPX supporters.
    What he preached back then is still as relevant and true for today.
    We must pray the Rosary every day & pray for the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
    God Bless Archbishop Lefebvre & the SSPX.

    I had the good fortune of being able to meet Abp. Lefebvre 3 times when he visited our church, Queen of Angels in Dickinson, TX. People would come from all over the US to see him, even non-Catholics. The last time he visited he autographed my breviary which is a treasure I will never part with. To be in his presence was to be in the presence of a saint. He was peaceful, calm, tranquil, extremely pious, confident that what he was doing was the will of God.
    I received a miracle due to his intercession and I always invoke him when we pray to our favorite saints during family prayers at night. St. Marcel Lefebvre, pray for us!

    Already in Germany there are movements to conduct Masses without priests. The saintly Archbishop was so prescient on so many matters. A voice crying in the wilderness. How heartbreaking it is to see how this man , who sacrificed his entire life to serve Holy Mother Church, was treated so badly. Not only by clergymen, but laity as well. Saint Archbishop Lefebvre, pray for us!

    In an Emergency, An Archbishop can ordain Priests to Bishops. As in the case of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre of the SSPX. Pope JP II Also tried to end The Traditional Mass back in his Pontificate. He failed as he hit a big Stone Wall with Archbishop Lefebvre. The Emergency was that Vatican II wanted to end the Latin Mass, All while JP II was Ordaining Anglican Priests as Roman Catholic Priests and Bishops/ And In The entire time Archbishop Lefebvre only wanted 1 bishop to succeed him in the SSPX. When he saw this Emergency with his own eyes, Ab Lefebvre Consecrated 4 Bishops to The SSPX. The Emergency clause is in word in Canon Law. So Let No one Tell you that Ab Lefebvre was Ever a Heretic or that The SSPX is Invalid, or is in Schism with Rome ( Rome is in Schism with GOD and Pre - Vatican II Rome - The True Church of Jesus Christ ) at Anytime. Ab Marcel Lefebvre is a Saint. If we had an SSPX Chapel or Church here in Rhode Island, I would be a Member. Ave Maria !!!!! Just like the word Democrat. I worked in the Part of construction known as Demolition. These words mean, generally - to Destroy. Thus the word Demon is who and what a fallen angel is. A Destroyer of all things of GOD'S Nature !!!

    Ratzinger wants SSPX to accept Vatican II and Rome hasn't changed. The Archbishop said SSPX can't have contact of the Rome because of that. So what kind of business SSPX has now to negotiate with Rome?

    • @_BattleForTruth
      @_BattleForTruth  Před 3 lety +12

      The reason why the Society has maintained contact with Rome is that the authorities in Rome are still the authorities of the Church, and that the return of the Church to Tradition must take place through those authorities. To contact them, and to have doctrinal discussions with them does not at all mean that they agree with their positions. It simply means that they want to use that contact to bring them back to Tradition. It is for this reason that their contacts have always been on a doctrinal level, and that there is no question of a canonical "solution" with the return of Rome to traditional principles and theology. It is true that Rome has not changed, but all their contacts are to strive to bring about this necessary change.

      @@_BattleForTruth regardless if you agree with their position. But Bishop Pfeifer was right in pointing out that Bishop Fellay holds a heretical position in saying 95% of the documents of Vatican II only 5% needs to negotiate with Rome. When Fr. Pfeifer asked the reason he was dismissed from SSPX the reason SSPX told him "you said Bishop Fellay said this in your sermon". They didn't tell him he lied about it and they didn't say Bishop Fellay was not heretical to say that.

    • @_BattleForTruth
      @_BattleForTruth  Před 3 lety +9

      @@danpan001 yes he said this, and in fact it is true; though it must be clarified. We know very well that Vatican II is filled with ambiguities, and this was this tool of the modernists. They drastically changed the meanings of words such as Church, Grace, faith etc, so they appear orthodox in their teachings, and yet use them to mean different things. Just to take one example, the Church. It is defined in Lumen Gentium as the sacrament of communion with God and unity amongst all men. This is clearly not the Catholic Church that they are speaking of, and it is not one of the seven sacraments. It is in this way that they can use these terms to accomplish their modernist deeds; yet it is under the appearance of something that is orthodox.
      So, if it is true that 95% of the statements of Vatican II can be understood in a orthodox Catholic sense, it nevertheless remains that the new theology, new definitions, new spirit, has actually given a radically different meaning to them. Moreover, the 5% of erroneous statements concern principles, and consequently determine the understanding of the rest. Hence the spirit of Vatican II, of the revolution in the Church, or the aggiornamento. It is entirely contained within the documents of Vatican II, but only in seed and in principle, so that somebody uneducated in the methods and terminology of the modernists does not see it, but thinks that Vatican II is not the origin of the spirit of Vatican II. It was against this false interpretation that Archbishop Lefebvre constantly fought.

    I m surprised he is wearing small mitre. SSPX priests wear the tall mitre of the Latin church. This archbishop could have been a cardinal in the 1980s and maybe the Pope before Pope JP2.
