Hi Lee, just found your channel and the reason I clicked to watch was I used to be a Motability customer myself, sadly a few years ago my review for PIP (when it switched from DLA) was botched and I was downgraded, so halfway through my 3 year lease on a VW Golf, I was forced to give my vehicle up. I did appeal and I won my case, but having purchased a second hand car while appealing my claim, I decided not to go back on the Motability scheme. I now own a beautiful Lexus SL430 (which I actually bought from Matt of High Peaks Autos having seen it on his youtube channel) The only thing I DO miss is the excitment of going and picking up a brand new car every three years, which is why I watched yours, I have now subscribed to your channel and look forward to more of your great content. @@nateg5767 Hello Nate, no, they downgraded me because the company the DWP were using to assess people at that time, were paid more if they downgraded disabled people, they did not have to pay back their bonuses when those disabled people won their appeals, shocking really. (this is my opinion and backed up by the number of appeals that were won).

Congratulations! I looked at the Ford Focus, it was soooo comfy that I didn't want to get out! 😂 But not many add-ons. The MG4 offers a lot - everything really - but I can't charge from home (no drive) so it's put me off as I don't go out a lot anyway. Also, the dealer can't collect for services. I'm tempted by the Kia Sportage or Stonic now, especially the Sportage as it offers all the bells and whistles! Due to order in a few days...

I might be wrong but, I don't think any dealership does the pick up and drop off for services anymore. I have to say I've never really looked at the new MGs, the style and look doesn't really hook me in... I did like the MG ZR when I first passed my test, wanted it for my first car but as soon as I did pass, they went bust! 😂😂😂

I ordered my first ever Motability car on Monday. I narrowed it down to either the Vauxhall Mokka or the Ford Puma. In the end I decided to go for the Mokka. I love the 'Stormtrooper' look of the Mokka over the Puma and the fact the Puma has no rear camera as standard was a big negative for me. As a bonus the top of the range Mokka is currently on the scheme with no advance payment and comes with all the bells and whistles and a very nice interior finish which just looks that little bit better than the Puma for me personally. I do like the Puma and to be honest had it had a few more features my final decision would have been more difficult
I agree 💯 the puma and ford in general I think should have loads more features as standard! It is quite annoying. I'm glad you're loving your new car! It's one of life's few pleasures that still remain.
Recognise that showroom! Pleasantly surprised that BB spaces were empty! I'd have ordered a Puma there had I been provided with up to date advice on scooter hoists! Going with a Skoda Kamiq from Harlow's Marshalls. Will miss Lookers Ford Chelmsford though. Lee - you still don't recognise the scheme as Motability. If users' don't what hope the general public.
I have to be honest I was pleasantly surprised the bays were free too. It's my first time using lookers here but it's nice to be closer to a dealership for services and MOTs. I'm pretty sure I do say the scheme is called motability in the vlog... The only times I don't is when I'm making fun of the fact I myself say it wrong multiple times in previous vlogs 😂 (which annoys me when I edit)

Idk if you know this, in the boot you can change the level so in the video it’s on the high level and if you push them black things that hold the floor up it can go lower . Iv got a puma to, best this car

So the wait time varies it used to be around 3 months but ever since the pandemic no dealership gives you a fixed timeframe. I was lucky I was expecting to wait around 6 months and got it around 3 months. Different dealerships/manufacturers give you different wait times to and I also believe it depends on what spec of the car you want. I'm glad you enjoy and find it helpful I'll be filming more content like this in a couple weeks and throughout the year.
@Lee Jeffrey the puma also! So as you have yours I'm hoping I won't be too far behind. I got the vignale in white... also didn't pay for the reversing camera.. crazy money! Just got to pass my test now and will finally have some freedom! Any cool features you are loving so far?

I'm lookin for 1st mobility car for my partner . I find it annoying that on there websites they never give you the amount for new car payment but quick enough to advertise £750 help . only show you advance payment . All new to me . Process could be a lot easier to do online .

So if you're going through the motability scheme, the dealership will have contacts of companies, who fit whatever adaptions you need. They will be done before you collect your car. Depending on what you need you may have to pay for certain adaptions
I'll be answering these/showing this kind of thing in the review vlog. I need to get a feel for and drive it longer, to get a good answer on the fuel consumption. 😁😉 But again I promise that I will answer that.

Also I would like to ask you about disabled parking in England vs Scotland. Firstly how long did you have to wait for your new Car I ordered a skoda in April 23 and I'm still waiting so how long did you wait. Do you find in England people abuse disabled spaces with no badge. I have taken to asking them if they know there parked in a disabled space I usually get abuse for asking able bodied people that. Any way great content I enjoyed your video ordering car. Please don't feel obliged to answer questions as one disabled person to another I'm just curious

I actually didn't have too weight as long as I expected, I was told I could be waiting as long as you have been or longer, so I was truly surprised when I'd only waited something like 2/3 months. I think different manufacturers are having so many problems that they don't know a wait time to give. It's bad but I do think non disabled people do use disabled bays everywhere because of a lack of understanding and ignorance... Some straight don't care that's try too. Also I will say this sometimes with everything we have to do just to get in and out, if in a rush I can forget to put it up 😂 my bad 😔.

It's hard to say how long the process will take nowadays because of supply issues and depending on the manufacturer... The dealerships would be able to give you the best answer. But in the last couple years I think it been between 2 to 8 months and sometimes longer 😳

Did PIP downgrade you because you're driving a car/was using the motability scheme ? ? Did they use that against you.

I receive my Motability Car on the 1st of July. I ordered a Kia Stonic Gt Line 7 speed auto in Blaze Red im looking forward to my first motability car

If you go through the official motability scheme website, it give you the price of the advance payment you'll need for the cars you're looking at.

The wheelchair fits in fine and with 1 or all back seats down it fits in without taking the wheels off. 😊
