- Traditions passed down. Young Kayde joins me on a sambar deer hunt. With much to learn and as beginners luck would have it, we get a sambar trifector. Kayde learns the skill of hand and knife. He knows where his meat comes from.
Third time I’ve watched this Daz such a beautiful way in teaching Kade full respect mate

Thanks Chicho! The youth are an important part of the hunting community.i think part of being a well rounded hunter is the ability to pass on what you’ve learnt to help others. Stay safe out there mate 👍🏾👍🏾
I am sure Kade will look back at this little adventure that Don and yourself have given him the opportunity to be a big part of. Well done to all involved👍👍.
Cheers Robbo! He had a blast out there, I’ve got a feeling we will be seeing more of Kayde in the bush in the not too distant future

I can also relate, it’s good to be on the watching end of that scenario 😂
I;m not a hunter but have family members that do. Have got a much greater appreciation for it now through watching your channel. I think you’re an amazing mentor for that young fella and an excellent teacher. Lessons he will keep forever, well done 👍
Love all your videos mate, good to see you getting the younger lads involved :) can't wait to start having some more bush stalks.
Keep up the awesome content always looking forward to joining you on your adventures at home :D
Well done guys. Top effort taking the young fella out. Big well done on him carrying out a front leg too. 👍 loved it
Cheers mate, he did well. That pack was heavy but he doubled down and got it all back to camp by himself. He’s a good egg.
Nothing but smiles all round! That's what it's all about! Cheers
What a great video, getting the new gen a good run! His fishing skills came in good! How he doesn't think it's always that easy lol!

Top job on the lessons! Probably my favourite vid with you taking the time to teach him 👍
Thanks Dan, it’s good to put back into the community where we can 👍🏾
Into the Mountains yeh it’s awesome and there should be more of it. Kids take it all in and can explain it to their peers. You’re a great ambassador for hunters
Your a good man Daz! Love your work.
Thanks for your support mate, was a trip to remember 👍🏾👍🏾
Well done Dazza, on a good hunt and teaching the young fella.
Cheers Wayne, he’ll make a great hunter one day if he sticks with it. 👍🏾
Into the Mountains Kayde reminds me of a mini Jono from Deer Diary.
There are big days and small days in life, the big ones are the ones worth remembering... I reckon Kayde just had a big day.
Wise words mate. I like your mantra, a good one to remember 👍🏾
Wonderful how the young lad Kayde is so keen to join in and learn the skills you are handing on to him. The way life should be.
He is a good kid that Kayde. Well mannered and respectful. Welcome anytime with us 👍🏾👍🏾
Great work for taking the time to pass down your knowledge. Keep it up.
Thanks David, important lessons learnt. 👍🏾
Awesome Daz great video 👍. Good to see you and Don teaching Kade the tips and tricks of what to do and not to do haha. Awesome to see the young bloke out in the bush and on a hunt he'll remember for life. 👌
Too right mate. Many lessons to learn for us all. Good luck in the season ahead 👍🏾
Fantastic Daz. 10 out of 10 in every way, including mentoring the young fella.
Thanks Ian! 🍺
Great video daz you’re really doing the hunting community proud.
Thanks for your support Rob, much appreciated 🍺
awesome one of the best great young guy
Cheers Martin, he’ll make a great hunter if he keeps with it
really enjoyed your video. well done teaching the young fellow. also well done to the young fellow for helping carry out even though the leg was bigger than him
He did really well. He had a heap of weight and pretty much fell all the way back to the car but persisted and never complained. Good kid
Best meat cut video i have seen
Mate absolutely cracking video. So cool to see you guys taking the young gun out and showing/teaching him the art of hunting Sambar 👌🤙👌🤙
It’s a good start for him. Another few years and we can get him on a rifle 👍🏾
How good is this?
The young bloke is a champion!
Nice of you to take him with you mate, awesome content Daz!!!
Cheers Craig. He is a good kid. He’ll be a great hunter 🦌👍🏾👍🏾
Great stuff daz, good to see kayde enjoying himself. Bet your glad to getting back into the mountains
Very glad to be back out. Time to plan a few extended trips again 😊
Good job mate! Another great bit of content.
Cheers Stew, the deer are plenty up our way atm
Into the Mountains, they sure are mate! Spotted close to 10 in a group early last week, Picked a nice one for the table.
Great video mate. At the end Azza was talking about the missing 2 elderly people from Wonnangatta.
Lucky kid he doesnt look like you lol. A very lucky shoot i bet you wish all hunts were that easy Stuart Palmer Adelaide Sth Australia
Good old beginners luck. I hope he doesn’t look like me... he’s not my kid 😂
Great video, and bravo for teaching the young fella! Would love to have heard the Buttonman story!!
😂 cheers Chris, we have a few good spooky story’s for the campfire 👍🏾
Nice work Daz. It's a very rewarding feeling taking a young gun out and showing then the ropes. As adults we all remember those times we had as a kid. Kudos to you mate.
Spot on James, thanks for watching mate. Good luck in the season ahead. 👍🏾
Hey Daz good work, credit to you and Don passing on your knowledge to a young kid I'm sure a day he won't forget.
Thanks mate, he loved it. There’s no stopping him now! 👍🏾
Another awesome video mate. Glad to see some young bloods coming up through the ranks. Great job to all.
Thanks Matty! I imagine we’ll see more of Kayde in the years to come, as you can see it’s in his DNA 🧬
@@IntotheMountains his smile says it all mate and yours too lol
Just wish I had've been such an early starter 💯🙌
Nice looking bush 👍👍
It’s good there but terrible 200m in any direction! 😂
Another great video DH. I loved how the young fella was dragging the front leg down the hill and trying not to trip over. Hopefully one day he can pull the trigger and bring down one for himself. Keep it up mate. Now that camping restrictions have been lifted, I can't wait for more footage from you. Thanks again for sharing.
Cheers Theo! I’m just as keen as Kayde to get back out. It just shows how precious our time outside really is and how easily our lives can change. Best. It to waste a single day. Kayde gave it a red hot crack, didn’t complain and very well mannered. He knows where his meat comes from. That’s a good place to start. 👍🏾👍🏾
@@IntotheMountains The fact that he helped dress the animal probably gave him a better understanding of the whole hunting and butchering process. A better appreciation and respect for the animal too. That's the way I see it. I hope he doesn't lose interest as he gets older.
@@IntotheMountains Oh and by the way, you didn't come across Mr Buttons by any chance did you?
Can't stop smiling after watching this vid, Kayde seems to be a bit of a deer magnet!
Haha yeah too right, good old beginners luck. If it keeps up that way I’m packing him into my backpack on all trips from now on 😂
Great work Daz, getting young Kayde out there passing on the skill of meat harvesting really good video that’s a fair pack out 2back legs and back straps for Don mighty effort Azza must of got held up in traffic 🤔
Awesome vid and great content! Looked like a fun day and even the dog got a lookin👍
Thanks mate, was certainly unexpected. Beginners luck hey.
Great hunt you guys had by the looks of it Daz ! Young fella's a future hunter for sure . Awesome stuff !
Spot on there mate, you can see it me definitely in this kids veins
Another great one Daz. Love the different angle. A perfect "Life is good" vlog. ;)
Cheers Sam, feels a lot better now after a good walk in the bush!
Excellent education.Children want to learn everything but the adults/school system/morons are the limiting factor.
Couldn’t agree more Anthony!
seriously unreal taking the young bloke. and showing him the ropes is awesome..
Nice work Daz hats off to you mate🍺
ps how old is the young bloke?
Thanks Davey! Kayde has just turned 10. He’s loving it!!
perfect age .. loved seeing him carry the leg out it was great👌
The young fella looked like he really enjoyed his self Daz , we all need to get the younger generation interested in hunting / shooting ! Great video 👍
He was stocked mate. Will be great to see him stick with it. He is very handy on the bow too!
Great vid Daz, good to see future generations keen to join in. Also good to see you and Don take the time to teach the young fella with three on the deck
That’s what it’s all about mate. Kayde got a lot out of it. He’s very skilled with a knife for a young fella. Won’t be long until he’s doing everything on his own. 🦌👍🏾
Nice work Daz. Another pro in the making, learning from the master.
Cheers Ernest. Will have to get out for a hunt again soon
that trip will be something he will remember for rest of his life
He worked hard, it’s these memories that last the longest 👍🏾
Mate, What a day hunt! Do you ever harvest the ribs or tenderloins?
Good restock of the freezer 👍👍👍
Certainly is full now! Snags came up great 👍🏾
Top stuff Daz. Great to see the young bloke keen as and having a go and you are taking the time to show him how it is done. And great to see how you cut up a deer.
Keep the great video coming mate.👍👍👍👍
Cheers Shaun, Kayde loved the experience, I’m sure he’ll make a great hunter in the generation to come. Thanks for your support 👍🏾
Hey Daz just wondering if you have any reviews on your camera set ups after watching a load of clips and subscribing to anyone who hunts I believe your clips are amongst the very best
Hey Adam, sorry mate no I haven’t done anything on my camera set up. It changes regularly to be honest I’m no expert on the subject and just go with what I have. Daz
Good stuff.. Cool lil dude!
Great vid, I hope to get my kids into this when they are old enough. Where was this at? would love to bag just one deer before 0900 lol
Glad your enjoying the vids Jeff. Most of my hunts are in Victoria (south east Australia) either in the national park or in this case our state Forrests. 👍🏾
Way to go Daz. Good on you mate showing the new gen. I remember when i was a new bee, you guided me for my first hunt and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hope we will catch up soon. Cheers.
Cheers Faz! Let’s hunt again soon!
Great work with the young bloke. I’d love to hunt some open country like that... going to have to drive further or look harder.
It’s a good area to hunt. Open is good sometimes but the deer are there because it’s so thick close by, 100 m either side and they are gone like ghosts.
Great video boys and top work young Kayde! But, your killing me with that sausage casing! Natural skins are the only way to go for such great meat.
Leave the collagen in the rich chicks cheeks!
😂 cheers mate
Nice one, what size and type projectile was used for that deer @ 10.27 min? Just curious as Don said he thought it would be to light. Cheers and keep up the great content.
Hey Ryan, yeah long story with that. Don was more referring to the construction of the round more than the weight. It’s a 165g game head from sako. I’ve had a lot of success with them but dons old school and prefers the core loc style. It’s an impressive round from the 3006 👌🏽
Yo big chief,
Are you still going to continue filming and put up videos at some point. Missing them man. Hope all is well whatever is happening.
Hey Davo, will do when we get some content together mate. We’ve missed a whole year’s opportunities due to lockdowns. Winter is coming. Soon 😉
@@IntotheMountains sweet man. I seen you and your slippery gypsy mates at the big servo heading out of Melbourne on your trail bikes having a yarn, been keeping an eye out for the video. Bring on winter!
Awesome to see you taking a young bloke out daz! I’m taking a leaf out of your book on patience(while butchering) for when my girls grow up!
This is a great video - Well done mate
Cheers mate
Gday daz great work getting the young bloke out and about just wondering what mincer you running there and is it any good of a machine
Thanks mate, this ones a kenwood. Good consumer unit affordable too 👍🏾
Awesome hunt mate. Would love to come on a hunt with you one day. You're a top bloke for taking the young fella along.
Cheers Wayde, we had a blast out. It’s great to be back outside
Just new to your channel mate awesome videos great fun watching just a question whats the best way to get into stalking and hunting I've just resently got my license but i don't have anyone thats into hunting was wondering if you had any good tips where to start what gear might be needed public land that might be good to start on as i live in the dandynong region in vic
Hey mate, welcome to the journey! Best place so start is with the deer people at: www.austdeer.com.au go along to some meets or hunts and you will meet lots of like minded people. For gear your spoiled for choice these days. Moroka30 is close to you. You can find everything you need there at Carrum downs 👍🏾
Well done boys I think young kade has some good mentors there
Cheers mate, he is a good grasshopper 🦗🍻
bloody awesome Daz, young hunter in the makings, hope you keep him coming along in the future so we can see him develop his skills. also shoot right handed but use the knife lefty, you`re all over the shop lol.
Haha good spotting! Left hand rifles are expensive mate. Besides if I ever hurt myself I can just use the other side right 😂 ambidextrously cursed, nothing feels right or left... doh
Best vid yet. Love the channel, and my young bloke loved this vid. I now have a son interested in doing the same thing. Bloody good on you. Next generation of hunters is crucial to the lifestyle surviving the onslaught of stupidity in this modern world. 10 out of 10!
Couldn’t agree more mate. Would be great to see more of this in the teaching curriculum. For now it’s up to us. Every opportunity counts. Good luck in the season ahead buddy
Great work taking the young fella with you I had no one to teach me so I had to learn on my own but I had some young kids like myself and we went out and hunted rabbits and hares and went fishing and went on to hunt Roos and Deer and pigs shot Ducks and unfortunately got to be old farts but I think they were great years and I wouldn't change them for Quids
Spot on mate, you can’t buy memories. Just have to get out there and make them. Thanks for watching 👌🏽
Legend Daz 👍
Cheers mate 👍🏾
Ripping video Daz :-)
I'm not young but you can take me with u next time lol good work young fella
Haha, yeah but do you own a brewery?
I do actually 2 of them lol
Good day mate. Is there a chance i go with you in hunting?
Best chance to catch up would be to join in on an Ada branch hunt. I try to go to them when available 👍🏾
thats a mad vid. Well done boys
Cheers buddy 🍻
Awesome Dazza
Cheers mate 🍻
What cal were you using mate awesome job
Hey Adam, in this vid Don was using a 3006 and I was on the 7mm rem msg 👍🏾
@@IntotheMountains awesome mate cheers the 7mm seemed to give some recoil but definitely sorted them does out
Great little apprentice you have there Daz , he will never forget this !
Cheers Pete, he certainly is. We’ve been out chasing bunnies and foxes all weekend. He loves it
